Sin System: Demonic Harem After Reincarnation-Chapter 229. The Last Hurdle
62nd Floor, Dungeon of Sins.
Early in the morning, a group of 11 elves resisted a horde of third circle monsters. Leading the group were two squad captains who fiercely protected a beautiful girl in the center.
"Princess, we're very close! This is the last hurdle." One of them shouted, fighting a strange bald woman.
The other squad captain helped his fellow elves while fending any stray monsters that breached the formation.
In the middle of this, Valerie fired arrows, shouldered by her remaining clan mates. While doing so, she quickly glanced at Brienne who smiled back.
In the past 2 days, they'd defeated hundreds of monsters, climbing down tirelessly. After finding the small team of elves still alive on the 55th floor, things became easier.
Finding that everyone wanted to save the commander made her feel warm, solidifying the hope on her chest.
However, just then, another 4th Circler joined the monster side.
The death knight was like a nightmarish enemy for these elves. Before they could even tackle one, another death knight followed.
Now there were three 4th Circlers on the enemy side. The previously winning elves were suddenly pushed back. However, the two squad captains resolutely carried Valerie ahead, abandoning the others.
"No!" Valerie looked back and cried, seeing her friends bitterly fighting against the monsters.
However, the voices of the two captains pulled her back. Reaching the entrance leading down to the 63rd floor, they released the girl.
"Princess, the floor ahead is mostly clear and Lord Issac is trapped at its very center."
Saying that, the 4th Circle spearman looked back.
"Our comrades cannot fend off those monsters for too long," the other elf continued and tore a necklace he was wearing.
"Take this with you." Putting it on Valerie's hand, he looked at her tearful face and gritted, "You must save Lord Issa-"
Suddenly, a dark sword pierced through that elf captain's belly, causing the girl to shriek.
As if not feeling the pain, the elf kicked the monster behind him. Strange tattoos flashed on his neck but weren't noticed.
As the girl knelt on the stairway and sobbed, magical attacks came from the right side which the spearman blocked.
"Go now, Princess!" He shouted, "We shall deal with these enemies."
The two elf captains began shielding Valerie who finally found her strength and turned around. Tightly holding the pendant, she looked back one last time. Then she descended to the 63rd floor, not knowing that her clan mates had suddenly stopped fighting.
…
Tens of miles away, at the center of the floor was a large prison supported by humongous cylindrical pillars.
Every corner had a burning torch, illuminating the area with a soft yellow light. Built with brown bricks, the prison had multiple hallways flanked by cells of identical sizes.
Some special cells were huge, like the chamber used to jail the captured elves. Right now, there were two people inside.
After returning from Frienford, Jake had moved the elven commander to a prison cube. This cube was fortified with adamantine bars on five sides and was bound to the tough floor.
Mana Sealing Chains tied a tall, blonde elf's hands and legs to the prison bars, making him unable to use any of his powers.
The only thing he could do was turn his head and pull on those chains, glaring at the detestful demon who circled around.
"Oh?" Suddenly, the demon glanced in a certain direction and smirked. Taking out a divination crystal, he then closed his eyes.
The glow in the crystal attracted Issac's attention and he intently stared at it. A moment later, the elf jolted.
"Her Highness!"
The scene of Valerie running through wide tunnels reflected on Issac's blue irises and his expression softened.
However, the elf quickly turned to the demon ahead and trembled. "Why is she here?!"
''Why?" Jake chuckled. "To save you, of course. Your little sweetheart loves you so much that she's willing to risk her life."
"Save me…?" The chained elf clenched his palms, desperately trying to muster his mana. However, no amount of effort worked, causing him to drop his shoulders.
"You… Why are you doing this?" His voice cracked.
"What do you mean?" Jake tilted his head. "She herself wanted to come here."
"Don't lie to me! She wouldn't have survived until now unless you wanted to." Issac grabbed the prison bars but an invisible force pushed him back.
Obviously, Jake had an underlying ploy. Though he couldn't use corruption temporarily, he also didn't want this elf to sign a slave contract.
Jake had a much better option since he knew this elf's weakness. If all went well, he could have another 5th Circler at his disposal.
But that would depend on how well he could emotionally torment Issac.
As Jake lowered his hand and stored the divination crystal, he replied, "I'm just impressed by her bravery. Despite being so weak, she is fearless for your sake. So I decided to give her a chance."
When he turned around, placing his hands behind his back, Jake's ears suddenly caught the sound of approaching footsteps.
"Hah… Hah…" Valerie breathed rapidly, entering a large structure in the middle of the floor.
She had already expended her spare arrows by killing the goblin guards outside. Not caring to pick them up, the elf princess ran through the entrance.
This place was like a maze. Every corridor looked the same. Turning her head left and right, those empty prison cells made her feel nervous.
Suddenly, she stepped on a slightly elevated tile and multiple arrows shot from both sides.
"A trap!" The girl quickly jumped, avoiding the projectiles which were laced with poison.
But one of the arrows cut through the laces of her leather corset, which fell as she did a backflip. Landing neatly, Valerie ignored the side slit on her skirt which was now showing her panty.
Without the corset's support, her breasts began to jiggle when she sprinted. But Valerie had no time to deal with it.
That earlier trap had revealed a new corridor which was completely dark. Holding the pendant high, the elf princess chanted a few words, and it glowed with a bright green light.
As she entered the new corridor, Jake was now noticing her every movement. Unknown to him, Lena was also keeping tabs on the girl.
Back at the special chamber, Jake was waiting. It would take about ten minutes for that girl to arrive if she was smart enough. However, the chained elf was making too much noise right now.
"If you hurt her…" Issac's hair covered one of his eyes as he said in a pleading tone.
"Hmm." Jake stroked his chin and responded. "That would be too boring though. I have an idea…"
While Jake was speaking, his eye colors suddenly changed. The demonic horns retracted back to his head and his height decreased by four inches.
"The lover…" Next, Jake's body became leaner and his skin turned whiter.
"...whom she wants…" Jake's facial features morphed one by one and his hair gained a bright, blonde hue.
"...to save is going…" Lastly, Jake's ears became pointy as he finished the sentence, "...to hurt her."
Issac now looked at his identical clone who had a sinister smile on his face, one that he could never imitate.
"Pretty neat, isn't it?"
