Fortunately, while Janus could read ancient language, it seemed he didn’t recognize the names of the drugs. He flipped through the notebook with an unimpressed expression and eventually handed it back. Ayra briefly considered switching to the language she used in her past life—but dismissed the thought. If she wrote in that, no one but her would understand it, making the records meaningless. Like all dungeon mages, Ayra recorded everything with the assumption it would be preserved for future generations.

Well, he didn’t even get mad about being used in weird experiments without his knowledge, so I guess it’s fine if he sees this...

Which meant Ayra could be a little more liberal with her “experiments”—or rather, documentation. Still mulling over how easily Janus had recognized the ancient language, she pulled up his stat window for the first time in a while. Come to think of it, she hadn’t checked it since the title and Intelligence stat were «N.o.v.e.l.i.g.h.t» unlocked.

He always fiddled with mana stones in his hand—and apparently, it was helping, however slightly. His MP had increased a bit from 33 to 41. His favorability toward Solar’s lord had dropped a little more, but his Intelligence stat was undeniably high.

Makes sense—he could read ancient language. It’d be weird if he had low Intelligence.

The most striking detail was the title. Surprisingly, his “main” title wasn’t Red Dragon, but Handsome Redhead. Considering that a person’s most publicly known title typically became their main one, it wasn’t so strange. After all, hardly anyone knew Janus was planning to crush Solar in the near future...

With a bitter little thought, Ayra closed the stat window and looked around. It was a date, after all—they should probably have a proper meal. She soon found a sunny, scenic spot, flattened the ground with magic, and took out a mat from her subspace. As she did, Janus, who had been helping her set up, suddenly asked:

“You ever do anything with that hair or nail sample you took last time?”

“Not yet.”

She’d been saving them for a properly controlled experiment. They were too precious to waste. She’d already contacted the dungeon to send over her old magical tools. Hearing that, Janus picked up the thick, heavy fur blanket Ayra had taken out and spread it over the mat with a voice gentler than usual.

“Alright. If you ever need more samples, just drop by.”

“Really? For real?”

Ayra quickly expressed her thanks, afraid he might take it back. Of all the flirting and confessions she’d heard so far, that was by far the most romantic. She wanted to snatch more samples right now, but reminded herself they were on a date and restrained the urge. She had a conscience, after all.

The two of them enjoyed a peaceful view of the ruins and lake, eating warm dishes and drinking wine that Ayra pulled from subspace. Feeling immensely content, Ayra took a big bite of a delicious pie—when suddenly, the Pebble popped up a system window she’d never seen before.

[ Surprise! Heartbeat Dating with a Dragon ~ Let’s Boost That Favorability Event! ]

Complete mini-missions to earn Favorability Points!

Earn 100 points to raise favorability by 1 XD

The event ends when the date ends!

...A Favorability Event now? As Ayra stared skeptically, another window appeared:

[Babe, feed me this please! Ask your partner to feed you. (Gain 3–5 points)]

[Babe, want a bite? Feed your partner yourself. (Gain 1–3 points)]

Ayra grimaced but gave in and tapped Janus’s knee, who was leaning back lazily against a ruined wall, sipping his wine.

“Give me a bite of what you’re eating.”

Tossing her pride as Solar’s lord and a dungeon mage, she opened her mouth and said “Ahhh” softly. Janus let out a snort of laughter but obediently loaded his fork and fed her a bite—then gave her a few more, even without being asked.

If she could raise favorability, this much was nothing. Still, the embarrassment lingered—and just as she was thinking What the hell am I even doing?—the next mission popped up.

[Gained 3 Favorability Points!]

[Lately, mention that the Lord seems to be seducing you. (Gain 10–20 points)]

[Romantic lake ice-play~ Push your dragon partner onto the ice! (May reduce HP below 10) (Gain 120–300 points)]

...The sheer leap in difficulty from “Feed me, babe” to “shove your partner into a frozen lake” left Ayra speechless. Then another message:

[Next missions appear only after completing at least one mini-mission.]

So “might reduce HP below 10” was just a nice way of saying, “Push your dragon into a freezing lake and get sent to hell for it.” Even a normal person would be furious—never mind a dragon.

...Do I really have to do this?

But D-Day was drawing closer by the day, and Ayra didn’t have the luxury of letting even a single favorability point go to waste. Reluctantly, she opened her mouth. The choice was already made.

“Lately... I feel like the Lord has been getting kind of close to me.”

“Hm?”

“The other day, I got summoned to the study, and she invited me to dinner...”

She added some fluff about how polite the lord was during the meal and even gifted him a book he’d wanted. But Janus just looked indifferent and said,

“Really? My sweetheart’s so popular.”

And the favorability dropped.

[Janus Rehzedet’s favorability has decreased by 3!]

Current favorability: -38

[Gained 15 total points!]

So I lost 3 favorability just to gain 0.12 progress?

Ayra’s motivation took a nosedive. What was even the point? Another mission popped up, but she pretended to yawn and turned her head away. The Pebble, undeterred, popped up yet another mission.

[Take a walk around the lake together. (Gain 3–5 points)]

[Set up a temporary shelter with Janus. (Gain 5–8 points)]

Now those were normal. Was this Pebble messing with her earlier? She glared at it, and the tiny stone peeked out from her hand, sweating and shaking its head in protest. You're lucky you're cute. That’s the only reason you’re getting away with this.

Following its lead, Ayra took a stroll around the lake and even picked a mostly intact building to reinforce with magic and turn into a decent temporary shelter. By the time they finished, a stunning sunset had spread over the water. Exhausted from the simple walk, Ayra lay down with her head resting on Janus’s thigh, watching the sky. And just then, the mission window popped up again.

[ Surprise! Heartbeat Dating with a Dragon ~ Let’s Boost That Favorability Event! ]

Your actions have created a romantic atmosphere!

From now on, R-19 missions may appear!

*R-19 missions offer bonus points :) *

[Give your partner a gentle kiss. (Gain 3–5 points)]

[Tie your partner’s wrists and mount him roughly. (Gain 30–50 points)]

One of those missions made Janus’s preferences painfully clear, and Ayra paused. She mentally asked the Pebble:

Are you sure about this? Maybe Janus would like it, but I’m not into this kind of thing. What if it backfires and drops the favorability?

The Pebble poked its head up and nodded earnestly, even giving her sparkly, encouraging eyes. Fine, Ayra sighed, Let’s see what I’ve got to tie with... She mentally searched through her subspace. She did carry a few ropes—one for rebellious slaves, another for ma-beast capture...

Guess I’ll go with the ma-beast one?

Tying the wrists was one thing. But what did “mount him roughly” even mean, exactly...?

She glanced up at Janus. He was stretched out comfortably, leaning back on his arms with his legs extended, thoroughly relaxed. Ayra discreetly pulled out the rope from her sleeve—

—and then, suddenly collapsed the ground under him. Janus tilted backward in surprise, and the moment his body hit the ground, Ayra sprang up, looped the rope around his wrists, and pinned him down.

[Gained 55 Favorability Points!]

Hell yes. Only 45 more and she’d raise his favorability by 1. Not bad at all. Maybe she could even hit a few hundred points today. Energized, Ayra tightened the rope with magic.

Janus stared up at her, completely unfazed despite having his arms bound. His eyes scanned her face, then curved with amusement.

“Dinner, a lovely lakeside view... I was just thinking it was about time. Pretty fun way to provoke me.”

“Glad you’re enjoying it.”

Ayra smiled sweetly, then ran her hand teasingly along his collar, eyes trailing downward. The red hair, glowing deeper under the sunset, the faint blush on his cheeks, and that sculpted chest peeking through his shirt—all of it was... extremely stimulating. Straddling a bound dragon felt strangely thrilling.

“If you behave, I’ll be gentle.”

She said it while sitting firmly on his abs, watching the slow rise and fall of his breath. She even wondered briefly—Do dragons perform cellular respiration too?—before Janus tilted his head, a slow smirk curling his lips.

“So this is your kink, huh? Got it.”

“It’s not—! I mean, it’s not mine, I’m just... matching your preferences...”

As she unfastened the top button of her shirt, waiting for the next mission, she suddenly toppled backward. Janus, with just his core muscles, had sat up in one fluid motion—despite having someone sitting on him. Before she could react, a heavy weight pressed her down.

His wrists were still behind his back, but he’d effortlessly subdued her. Now he loomed over her, eyes gleaming with amusement, tongue lazily licking his lips.

“So this is what I’m into, huh...? Yeah, I guess it is.”

“W-Wait—hold on...”

Ayra flailed under the sudden reversal. He was heavy—really heavy—and her limbs squirmed beneath him as he twisted his bound wrists... only to suddenly stretch them forward.

Ayra’s eyes went wide.

The rope wasn’t tied around his wrists at all. He had it coiled firmly in one palm.

He’d never actually been tied.

He'd just pretended.
