Shattering Humanity-Chapter 94: "I Gotchu."

{11PM in Roronora City. 6 hours until Leviathan shrieks to call in a meteor blitzkrieg}

Sirens from fire trucks and police cruisers speed through the city.

15 year old Dom is standing outside with the alien snow falling from the clear September sky. He now has one of his dad’s fluorescent yellow long sleeve work shirts on, backwards, starring with a dumbfounded and guilty expression, at his on-fire apartment building.

The entire third floor is on fire and the fire department is spraying water to put the flames out. The families from the 1st and 2nd floor are separate from him, giving him a cold stare. The pissed off landlord takes a step to confront the irresponsible culprit. His wife with milky white skin holds him back.

Landlord Wife: "Kenneth, don’t... Didn’t you hear those officers? He’s already had a horrible day, and he hasn’t moved or changed that sad guilty look on his face since I carried him out."

Landlord: "Who’s gonna pay for the damages Gyuunyuu? Especially now that his father-."

The two officers that had dropped Dom off after the shooting, pull up to the sidewalk on the scene of the fire. With the fire department having the flame under control, they both get out of their cruiser. Now their names on their badges are visible.

The white cop(Franks) looks up at the falling "snow" in the cloudless sky.

Franks: "What the hell is going o-"

The black officer(Sekai) slaps the roof of the car to grab his partner’s attention.

Sekai: "Hey, focus! Are you gonna tell the poor kid or are we going back to the station with him first? I don’t even want to tell him that his father is now also dead from attempting to drive drunk. Even more ignorance ends up making this child suffer in the end."

The two buddy cops get surprised as the depressed young man calmly shuffles up to them and falls to his knees with his wrists up above his head. The officers look at each other in confusion. Then they notice the defeated teen is fighting back tears and the thin coating of September snow on the ground, makes the blood from his skinned knees more noticeable.

Dom: "I did it on purpose. Please...just take me away. Anywhere but here. Jail, prison, ’Hell’, I don’t care anymore. I’m not wanted or needed. I almost killed two other families with my selfishness and I should be punished with a cell, please, I don’t want to be seen by society ever again."

Officer Franks and Officer Sekai shoot looks of heartbreak at each other from the obvious lie the option-less teen is trying to tell.

Sekai: "Sooo, you’re telling us, ’you did all this on purpose’?"

The landlord, completely red in the face, is being held back by his wife a few yards away.

Landlord Kenneth: "OH, YOU DID IT ON PURPOSE, YOU DAMN PUNK?!??"

Gyuunyuu: "Honey, calm down! It’s obviously not the truth! You know he probably needed to use a candle because his father was late on his payment! It was an accident!"

Officer Franks looks down at the hopeless high school student, who has suffered through almost 12 straight hours of constant losing.

Officer Franks: "Why are you lying to us? We want to make your life easier, and you’re here spewing bullshit like we aren’t trained to sniff out those types of weak lies."

Dom is still on his knees, his wrists above his head and his head down.

Dom: "Once my father sees his home that I destroyed, he would eventually be the one who would go to prison, for killing me. So arrest me. Since this is my fault anyway and I did it on purpose to cut ties with him."

The cops look extremely guilty for not being able to tell the young man his father’s fate. Officer Sekai lets out a long deep sigh, shrugs and pulls the cuffs from his belt. He puts them on the "arsonist" and helps the broken boy up.

Officer Sekai: "Come on Bud, lets go talk about some things. Unfortunately, your shitty day hasn’t ended."

From across the street, the Landlord can be heard yelling in anger at the guilty teen.

Landlord: "Yea! Take his ass away and good riddance! To him and his dead unpaying father!"

Gyuunyuu: "KENNETH!"

Dom stops in his tracks in front of the open back seat of the cop car, his eyes wide.

Dom: "My dad’s dead too?...."

Officer Franks turns in anger towards the Landlord who, because of his ignorance and anger, just hurt the poor kid even more. Officer Sekai has walked away from the cuffed kid and charges towards the man who purposely broke sensitive news inappropriately to an already broken child.

Dom: "I have nobody left. I’m not allowed happiness. I’m all alone, because I’m...me."

The orphan clenches his teeth so hard, one of the back molars cracks, a tear rolls down his cheek and from extreme mental stress, anger, sadness and shock, his eyes roll to the back of his head.

Franks: "Are you freaking serious!? Do you have any sense of sympathy or empathy, you piece of shit? That’s still a kid and you just-!"

There’s a hard *THUD* and everyone looks back as Dom is seizing on the ground, and with a head gash from his head’s contact with the cruiser. Before Dom loses consciousness, he can hear the worried shouts from Officer Sekai.

Officer Sekai: "Kid?! COME ON KID?!! Stay with me!"

From his PoV, 18 year old Dom opens his eyes to Saku with his outstretched hand and a proud smile on his face.

Daisuki: "AND THE FIRST ONE TO WAKE BACK UP IS DOM!! IZANAMI DIVISION TAKES ROUND 2!!"

{3 Minutes Earlier}

Daisuki: "Charybdis, are you ready!?"

Charybdis nods.

Daisuki: "Dom, are you ready!?"

Dom: "I’ve BEEN ready!"

Daisuki drops his hand.

Daisuki: "BEGIN!"

The two Gunners charge straight at each other and take clean swings straight to the side of the others head, not even considering blocking the incoming blow.

Instantly, after contact, both Char and Dom’s human eyes go all white.

However their ’IceEyes’ go crazy and move spastically in their eye socket. The two gladiators, both fall to the floor, dropping their ’weapon’, and they both start snoring out loud. Comically, the room isn’t that worried. Daisuki takes a seat on the foam floor and scoffs.

Daisuki: "Well, that was anticlimactic, but fitting for the matchup."

Daisuki pulls out a vape pen and is about to take a hit but sees Princess Kawaii looking at him. He quickly turns around so she can’t see, inhales and exhales. A small cloud of vapor appears behind him and he goes into showman mode for the Princess. It fools her as "special effects", but not the older, less gullible audience.

Daisuki: "As match director, I didn’t think a double K.O. would be likely to happen. So, whichever of the Princesses’ royal soldiers wakes up first, will win the round and the other, will be fed to the monsters while they sleep!"

Princess Kawaii: "Nooo! I need all the sho- shoulders that I love and that love me!"

Daisuki bows in respect.

Daisuki: "As you wish, your Adorableness."

Aiden gets up looking worried.

Aiden: "Daisuki Bro! Shouldn’t we check to see if they have concussions?"

Daisuki: "Nahhhh, their ’Anjell Eyes’ base-kit healing properties will fix that. At least, I think-"

Everyone gets interested in what Daisuki just accidentally said.

Katsu: "Big Bro, what are you talking about?! What are ’Angel Eyes’?"

Katsu gets star-eyed and immediately Saku sees the perfect coverup, only Katsu can make seem believable. Saku hears Dom mumbling in his ’nap’ and the Div. Leader smiles, with faith in his Gunner to wake up.

Katsu: "Is that what we should call these eyes now, since ’IceEyes’ are a ’Mountain Word’, and we should try to separate ourselves from them. We’ll be ’Angels’ with these eyes. You have the creativity of God, Big Bro!"

Dominic starts grumbling and his eyes begin to flutter open. His right alien eye/IceEye/Anjell Eye, is now in 2nd Stage, a teal aura emitting and Saku is excited for the Division gaining a new power. He holds his hand out for his Gunner and Daisuki notices the aura indicating Dom’s new upgrade, and the mentor puts his actual excitement into the announcement.

Daisuki: "AND THE FIRST ONE TO WAKE BACK UP IS DOM!! IZANAMI DIVISION TAKES ROUND 2!"

Saku: "Well I’ll be damned, I guess we’re ’boys’ from now on. If anyone fucks with you from those mountains, let em know you ride with me. But, you should learn how to defend yourself. If that was a hot steel blade, you’d be a human convertible, missing your top. No waking up first there."

Dom gives a wide smile to his Division Leader and reaches up for the help up, they link hands and Dom’s smile is so wide, his cracked molar is visible.

Dom: "I toooold you. ’I gotchu.’
