Shattering Humanity-Chapter 87: "You Thought You Could Just..."
{4 Years Before Leviathan’s Invasion}
Daisuki wakes up with his two human brown eyes. He sits up and looks around. He’s in a prison cell, bottom bunk.
He gets up from the bed and goes to the toilet inside the cell. He starts peeing and it can be heard against the metal toilet bowl. His cellmate can be heard behind him from the top bunk, it’s a ’familiar’ voice.
Cell Mate: "You’re up a little early today, aye, ’War Villain’?"
Daisuki finishes peeing, pulls his pants up and turns around with an upset look.
Nephilim, seven years younger, is his cellmate. He’s laying on his back, one knee up with his hands behind his head. His jet black hair is shorter and both red eyes wide open staring at the cement ceiling.
Daisuki walks back to the bunk bed.
Daisuki: "I told you to stop calling me that."
Nephilim: "The more I live in this world, the more I’ve realized, if you’re someone that fights to save, you’re a ’Hero’ and if you’re someone who kills the innocent, you’re a ’Villain’. That’s why you’re here."
Daisuki sits back down on his bottom bunk. He talks to his cell mate while looking at the ground and his torn prison slippers.
Daisuki: "You’ve killed too, Nephilim. Killing is killing. That’s why YOU’RE here with me."
Without blinking Nephilim still looking at the ceiling explains himself.
Nephilim: "You’ve killed civilians, Dice. Mothers, fathers, kids, grandparents and, congrats, two terrorists. I am here because I killed the governor’s son AFTER catching him raping a kid. Both our freedoms were taken, but for completely different reasons and results, I removed a scumbag from existence, YOU removed two scumbags, but ruined innocent families to do it."
Daisuki(chuckles): "You say different results, but we’ve both been here in prison together for the past 4 years. Debating and fighting each other’s morals and views since Day One."
Nephilim finally closes his eyes with a smile.
Nephilim: "Once again, you thought you had a point, Dice. I get out today and you’re here for, what was it? 200? 250 more years?"
Daisuki lets out a long sigh, picks his nose and wipes it on Nephilim’s bed above him.
Daisuki: "You ask me every day Neph, I assume to try to get in my head, but I’m not gonna let you ride into the sunset with a win. I’ll get out in 40 years with good behavior and when we meet up again, when we’re old and wrinkled. When that happens, let’s try not to one up each other. Let’s just enjoy the rest of the life we got left, together, as Buds."
Nephilim rolls his eyes and hops down from the top bunk, he looks down at the man sitting on the bottom bunk. Without any alien eyes, the two humans lock eyes.
Nephilim: "That’s another thing that drives me to just despise you, Dice. You think you’ve changed because of your regrets, but you’ve done nothing to atone for those sins. You’ve been sitting here trying to buddy-buddy me and the rest of the filth that resides here. I have no regrets and I have no sins. I’ve killed only those who deserve to die for being the direct cause of negativity they’ve brought on to others. You thought you could just sit in a cement room for the rest of your able bodied life and call that repentance?"
Daisuki stands up quickly and stares down the man who will put a bounty on his head in the future.
Daisuki: "I’ve been HERE! How else am I supposed to make up for my mistakes?! And just because you don’t have a conscious Nephilim, doesn’t mean you aren’t wrong!"
A random prisoner can be heard yelling at them.
Prisoner: "Aye, shut that fuck up! God damn, tryin’ to sleep..."
The two cellmates stare at each other, ready to throw fists.
Nephilim: "Have you even written a letter of apology? Even if you never publicly read it, the first step to repentance is accepting you lost your way."
Daisuki, surprised from the actual sincerity behind his suggestion. He’s about to respond but then from the bars of the cell, an officer can be heard unlocking the door.
Officer: "Sorry to be the one to split you two lovebirds up, but ’Blood Eyes’ over there is getting the boot.Get on the bunk Mina, and put your hands up."
Daisuki does what he’s told and Nephilim turns around so the officer can put cuffs on him. Nephilim, facing Daisuki one last time before their future encounter, a wicked glare stares Daisuki down with red eyes.
Nephilim smirks at the man he’s leaving behind.
Nephilim: "Actually, Dice, I hope you do get your freedom back one day. So you’ll be a witness to the world I’ve created, the paradise I rule over, and the justice I have been entrusted in. A world where sins will be atoned for, as soon as the guilty even THINK of committing their atrocious acts. Those who have wronged the innocent will understand true disparity and the inability to control their happiness. To live, with no possibility of happiness, can’t even be considered living."
The officer gives the two cellmates a chuckle and puts his two cents into the conversation while cuffing Nephilim’s second wrist.
Officer: "Sorry to break it to both of you ’dreamers’, but you’ll never have the power to change the world as it is. You two are forever going to be seen as convicted felons and nobody in their right minds will follow you to make any word of what you said come true, you psycho."
He turns Nephilim around and pushes him towards the cell door.
Officer: "Let’s go ’free man’, I only got a few more minutes to make you my bitch until we reach the warden’s office."
The two exit the cell, Daisuki and Nephilim keep eye contact through the bars as they walk away from the lonely man in the cell, Nephilim attempts to get the final word.
Nephilim: "For the innocent, I’ll be the one to push you into Hell, Dice."
Daisuki lays on his back, hands behind his head.
Daisuki: "It’s been fun, Neph."
The man and cop can no longer be seen from where Daisuki is lying. Daisuki takes a deep breath in and exhales. He closes his eyes to go back to sleep.
Daisuki: "Atone for my sins, huh? If I ever get the chance to, I’ll prove you wrong, Nephilim. I’ll atone ’my’ way, for ’my’ sins."
The prisoner falls back asleep in his cold and lonely cell.
Leviathan tears open the metal "ship" exposing the insides to the atmosphere-less space.
The beast with its single right eye, the purple and pink diamond checkerboard pattern can be seen peaking into the metal room.
Nothing except for the lifeless vessel with no ’Anjell Eye’ just a husk.
Nothing else, not even Daisuki.
The monster lets out a frustrated shriek and begins "flying" through space.
Back in the hotel-like room the 3 men were in before being brought forcibly into space, Saku with his eye in 2nd Stage, a black aura with a white streak, and an unconscious Katsu are alone, no Daisuki.
Then Saku focuses on one of the beds and after a second, Daisuki *POPS* onto the bed, like how Nephilim and Silpheed did when they appeared before them.
The mentor wakes up from his dream of Nephilim. He watches from the bed as Saku’s IceEye goes back to its base-kit. The black aura with a white streak fades and Saku after using an ability for the first time is winded and falls to the wood floor.
Saku: "You thought... you could just... unite all of us...and then leave us?"
Daisuki, tears in his eyes, while looking at his savior/student/disciple.
Daisuki: "Saku..."
Saku, his broken heart tattoo and newly blessed "Anjell Eye" facing the mentor, lets out one last sentence before passing out from exhaustion.
Saku: "Can we finally. Go. To bed."
He falls on the floor next to Katsu. Now, the two young men, who were blessed and seen as the personification of Taoism’s ’contemporary forces’, Yin and Yang, are sleeping head to toe of each other. On their right sides, so their left eyes are facing up. Daisuki smiles, picks them up and puts them back in the beds they were in. He then lays on the floor and falls asleep to the breathing of his little brothers.

...
Shelly and Itsuka burst in with everyone else from Takamagahara, as well as Lil’ Miss Kawaii and they all yell at the same time waking all three of them up.
ALL: "HAPPY BIRTHDAY KATSU AND SAKU(SAKU AND KATSU)!!!!!!!!!!!!"
