Shattering Humanity-Chapter 59: Above & Below Sanpaku

After explaining the plans for the group, Daisuki looks at Scylia.

Charybdis runs into Daisuki’s office, out of breathe while ’The Squad’ is discussing how to find their ally Taylor.

Char: "Uncle Mina! We just got a message from one of our allied scouts. They’re claiming they witnessed a giant Iceman fail to do a front flip and exploded in the West End of Sun Goku City!"

Saku(smiling): "That’s my boy TayTay!"

Daisuki looks at Dom.

Dom: "See it’s kinda funny how his strength just easily gives away his position."

Daisuki: "Alright, let me ask you two, Aiden and Dominic, I personally don’t know either of you but since Katsu trusts you, and Saku says this Taylor boy can be valuable to Sanpaku’s vision of saving humanity. I have no other choice but to hope that neither of you will tell Nephilim where this sanctuary is."

Aiden puts a finger to the sky.

Aiden: "You have my word, as both the Promoted Captain of Squad 32...(he looks at Katsu) as well as my word as Katsu’s friend...(he looks back at Daisuki)...We will now cherish the people within your sanctuary as family and treat your orders as absolute."

Katsu and Shelly smile at the maturity of their friend.

Dom(puts his finger up and smiling): "You can double it!"

Katsu looks at Charybdis and walks towards the guard he had a bad first impression with. The blue haired 20 year old has his arms crossed and side eyes the approaching newcomer to Sanpaku. Katsu gets within arms reach and holds out his fist with a smile and their IceEyes lock, it shocks Char how strong Katsu’s eye is.

Katsu: "I apologize for earlier. The girl you were getting close to is very special to me..."

Shelly and Itsuka perk up behind Katsu.

Katsu: "...I’m sure you could understand how I felt if you imagined someone doing the same thing to your sister."

Shelly and Itsuka look deflated from the "sister" comparison.

Katsu: "She’s the most important woman in my life and seeing someone try taking her away got to me and I’m sorry Big Bro Char!"

Shelly blushes.

Scylia: "Aww, now he’s stealing MY heart!(to Shelly)...Better snatch him up before that charisma of his attracts someone else, Darling."

Shelly looks at Itsuka who could hear, and the other "Big Sis" nods. Shelly then watches as Charybdis is caught off guard from Katsu’s ability to admit his wrongs and caves to the innocence that has captivated everyone else there.

Char: "I guess it’s my bad for trying to pick up someone else’s girl."

They connect fists officially initiating Charybdis into ’The Squad’ making the total now 10.

Katsu: "So that’s me, Shelly, Saku, Friend, Big Bro, Big Sis Itsuka, Big Sis Scylia, Dom, Aiden, and now you, Big Bro Char."

Saku: "Plus an 11th future member who has, in my opinion, nuclear destruction potential in TayTay."

He looks at Daisuki, remembering his final talk with Gray and smiles.

Saku: "You might have something special here D, if me and Katsu can get stronger and if our ’Lefties’ end up being game changers in 2nd Stage, we could just take over the mountains as an eleven member ’gang’. As a matter of fact, if we see those two bums again why don’t we just jump them?"

Daisuki(teasing): "I don’t know, wasn’t it you who was saying on the way here that we shouldn’t be letting so many ’randos’ into the squad? 11 might be a little too much for me to control."

Saku(in anger): "So Katsu is the only one allowed to decide who is an ally or not!? If you don’t want to trust my opinion on my boy TayTay, I know his favorite food, you’ll have me, him, and Friend as your new enemies."

Daisuki(smiles off the threat, un-intimated): "I’ve been thinking about this since we gained Itsuka and were all mislabeled as ’terrorists’.I think the temporary name ’The Squad’ was, creative, but I was thinking of giving a more ’deserving’ title to you all. A title for a group, if heard by outsiders, would become a term of hope, instead of fear. So how about this? We find your unexpected friend and he comes back here. If we can confirm he’s willing to put his life in danger to help out, I will appoint both you, Saku, AND you, Katsu, as ’Division Izanami Leader’ and ’Division Izanagi Leader’, respectively, of Sanpaku’s defense and liberation force, ’Takamagahara’."

Katsu: "Takamagahara? Izanami? Izanagi?"

Daisuki: "In Japanese folklore, it is the name of the place the gods of life, Izanagi, and death, Izanami reside. In layman terms, ’Heaven’."

Shelly: "Wait, Sensei, why Katsu and Saku?"

Daisuki(leans back in chair): "Well, after hearing the idea does anybody object?"

Nobody says anything, even Shelly, who now understands.

Daisuki: "Don’t worry, I’ll still be the one who will oversee you all here in Sanpaku. But as Division Leaders Katsu and Saku can add anyone they see as trustworthy and a valuable ally to their respective Divisions, of course after letting me meet them first before bringing them here and if both want the same person, I’ll be the tie breaker."

Char: "Another Asian influenced name Uncle Mina? That stuffs got you hooked, huh?"

Daisuki: "Since my mother was from there I can’t help it. It’s technically in my blood, even if I look mostly like my Portuguese father."

Katsu walks over and now he and Saku are directly in front of Daisuki’s desk. Daisuki sits back up and looks at the two young men.

Daisuki: "The duality of constant ’give and take’ energy.(looks at Katsu)...’The Sun’, the light that creates life, who has helped build friendships, with the ability to ’communicate’ well enough to change the emotions and views of others with his very own. The one who can ’give’ anyone compassion, even their enemy.(looks at Shelly) ...And is always accompanied by azule. (looks at Saku)...And ’The Moon’ the one who understands the negatives that must exist in the world. A ’Black Hole’ who is willing to ’receive’ the hate of others and fight back for the innocent when their pleads for peace no longer are an option. (looks at Friend)...Caring for the nature around them, and with your ’nuke’ of a friend, you will always be accompanied with destruction. We’re going to need clones to find that boy. Can you go another round Scylia, my dear?"

Scylia(blushing): "As many times as you need Master Daisuki."

Charybdis cringes at the sexual innuendo.

Char: "Ok Katsu, maybe you were right."

Katsu: "I wanna be one of the 6!"

Daisuki: "Well I was thinking, since Saku, Dom, and Aiden know Taylor a little better, I would have Scylia make a copy of them and myself to go with them in case my knowledge of the area is needed. Also if Neph shows up, my clone will distract him while they get away."

Katsu: "Aww but-"

Itsuka: "Katsu, don’t you think you and Shelly have been through enough clone stuff today?"

Katsu looks at Shelly and she has sad beautiful azule eyes while remembering what Itsuka is talking about, as well as what Katsu told her at the shuttle station.

Shelly: "I’m not his mother. If Katsu wants to get cloned again it’s up to him, I just want to get something to eat."

Katsu can tell by her response she is only saying that so she doesn’t upset him like she did outside the shuttles.

Shelly(looks at Scylia): "No offense to your power Big Sis Scylia, it is incredibly useful, but I never want to be cloned again. If my clone can only use half my strength but I receive 100% of my clones memories, it’s not worth it unless absolutely necessary."

Scylia holds her hand over her heart and slightly bows in respect.

Scylia: "No offense taken Madame Shelly. I too try to refrain from cloning myself for the same reasons as my brother. If I don’t deactivate my 2nd stage to stop the clone’s consciousness, the clone goes through the full process of death before the memories are transferred back. Some of our clones have gone through being eaten alive by both a pack of smaller Icemen and whole by giants."

Katsu(thinking to himself): *It’s not HER own death that Shelly’s worried about.*

Saku looks at Katsu who is looking at Shelly, then the delinquent looks at Friend.

Saku: "If our clones defeat an Icemen or another eye user, does it help our eye level up?"

Everyone looks at Scylia for the answer and she shakes he head.

Scylia: "Unfortunately, no. Since I gained my 2nd Stage power, my clones have killed more Icemen than my original self. The feeling of euphoria us eye users get from killing Icemen is never felt by my clones.The IceEyes that appear in the clones, as you know, are just for decoration. The eye ability of the original is unavailable to the clone and other eye users cannot EyeEngage with clones of eye users."

Itsuka: "Can you make more than one clone of the original scan? Like, can you make a clone of a clone?"

Scylia(smiles): "Why, of course! As long as I have 2 mirrors to help scan my backside for the first copy, I can make up to 6 clones of myself. However, each clone is only half as powerful as the original, so if I make a ’copy of a copy’, its power is 25% of the original and so on."

Itsuka smiles back at the woman and holds up her compact make-up mirror.

Itsuka: "Well, it may not be big enough to scan yourself, but my eye ability is dependent on mirrors, so if you ever need one for your make-up, I’m your gal."

After the girls get acquainted, Saku is still observing Katsu and the left eye users EyeEngage. They are both looking at each other with an intimidating expression. Saku’s human eye expressing "Below Sanpaku", while Katsu looks at his childhood friend, his human eye expressing "Above Sanpaku" for a second but then Katsu’s face looks surprised and the two unlock their eyes.

Katsu: "Sorry Saku. I still forget I have an IceEye. It’s gunna take some time to get used to it."

Saku stares stone faced at Katsu and looks him up and down before looking at Daisuki.

Saku: "I don’t wanna be cloned if it can’t help me get stronger and evolve my IceEye. Right now TayTay is accidentally getting stronger and that high-key worries me.(looks at Katsu) If you want to use one of ’Seal’s’ clones in place of mine go ahead."

Katsu gives a wide smile.

Katsu: "Thanks Saku!"

Shelly looks worried over at Itsuka and Scylia. While Itsuka gives a pity shrug towards the girl still recovering from heartbreak, Katsu is heard continuing his sentence.

Katsu: "...But I think I’m good. I’m kinda hungry too."

The girls look quickly in happiness and Daisuki smiles from both Saku’s reasoning for not wanting to be cloned, as well as Katsu’s decision not to go at all for Shelly’s sake.

Daisuki(looks at Scylia): "We’re ready whenever you are Love."

Scylia blushes as she activates her 2nd stage and bright pink aura is exposed to all in the room with an IceEye. Daisuki waves over Dom and Aiden as he walks closer to the woman. They approach and watch in awe of the new super powers they’re witnessing.

Daisuki: "Since this is the first time for both of you, I’ll go first, just watch what I do. It isn’t too hard to figure out."

Dom raises his hand.

Dom: "Bro. Sir, uh can I refuse to be cloned too? I kinda want to get stronger too, since I still only have my base-kit.(he looks at Saku with a cocky grin) Plus, I wanna see if I can kill more Icemen than a ’Beast of HFF’."

Saku grins back and wipes his nose.

Saku: "Don’t blame me if you die trying to keep up."

Daisuki, smiling, looks at Aiden in his two, scared human eyes.

Daisuki: "Don’t worry about being the only other one getting cloned, Bud. You don’t have an eye, so there’s no reason to not get cloned. Just by looking at you I can tell you’re physically not clutch."

Aiden looks down upset from the apparent insult. Katsu gets upset as well, but right before Katsu can defend his friend, Daisuki finishes his criticism.

Daisuki: "But I can tell when it comes time to depend on someone to create a clutch game-plan, there’s something about you that just screams, ’Coordinator’ and I’m sure any play you think of, will be better and more thought out than us neanderthals fighting with the help of alien magic.(looks at Katsu) Am I right?"

Katsu quickly nods and gets excited to gloat about his friend and Aiden blushes as he does.

Katsu: "You’re right on point Big Bro. Aiden was ranked #1 in Academics, even above Shelly, and I’ve never seen anyone beat her in anything! He’s wicked smart! And he isn’t assertive, he’ll know when someone else’s plan is truly dangerous and if he comes up with a different plan(he looks at Saku) if Saku is choosing his pal over all of us, I trust Aiden’s plans with my life over everyone else’s."

Aiden(tear filled eyes behind his glasses): "Katsu..."

Shelly steps up next to Katsu.

Shelly: "And if anyone has a problem with Aiden’s plans can answer to me."

Aiden: "Shelly..."

They watch as Daisuki stands, T-posed with his AIG, in front of Scylia and her popped off 2nd Stage eye. As she focuses on Daisuki, structured light lines appear on his body and the gear attached to his hips.

Scylia: "O.K. Master Daisuki, you can begin turning slowly."

Daisuki nods and begins spinning slowly so the woman can scan his sides and backside, the green scan lines stay on his body as he does a full complete spin. Scylia closes her IceEye and the lines disappear from Daisuki.

Katsu nudges Saku’s arm without averting his gaze from the cloning process. Saku looks at the spaz, side eyed, and doesn’t look away.

Katsu(smiling): "This is my favorite part."

As Scylia opens her IceEye, and with a comedic high pitched *pop* sound, a spitting image of Daisuki with his Anti-Icemen Gear appears. Katsu is star eyed.

Katsu: "THAT’S SO FREAKING COOL!!"

While Scylia repeats the process with Aiden, Saku is still side eying Katsu, he then looks at Friend.

From the dog, he looks up at Itsuka, who notices him and they lock IceEyes. Saku has a serious look on his face while Itsuka blushes from the dominant stare down of a strong man.

Saku: "Itsuka... I want to let loose out there in ’Hell’ now that I have the opportunity to get stronger. Will...will you-."

He closes his human eye, takes a deep breath and opens his human eye.

Saku: "Itsuka will you take care of Friend while I’m out there in ’Hell’? So he has someone to keep him safe, and if I never come back..(Itsuka’s blush turns to seriousness)...he has someone wh-"

Itsuka: "First of all, if you’re gunna ask me to be your pup’s surrogate Momma, you better not die. Second(blushes again) wh- Why me?"

Saku(blushing): "Well, um, b- because you know how to be a loving pet owner and I trust you to make sure he’s clean...and so he’s never alone. Since ’Juliet’ over there has Katsu... I- I...I trust you with my purpose."

Itsuka starts walking towards him while EyeEngaged.

Saku: "If you don’t wanna then-"

They unlock before she jumps towards him, falls on top of him, and kisses him, locking their lips instead of their eyes. Saku’s open eyes are surprised and he’s bright red blushing, but then he accepts the kiss and closes his eyes. Daisuki watches the two confirm what he kinda already knew.

Shelly watches her Big Sis in confusion, while Katsu looks on behind her, and his face is unseen by everyone in the room watching the new love, except Friend who looks up to see Katsu with an eerie smirk and his human eye, exposing what would be considered as extreme "Above Sanpaku".
