Secretly Married for 4 Years, He Regrets to Tears After the Divorce-Chapter 133: Pregnant Before Marriage
In the elevator, Wren Sutton stood closest to the doors, her attention focused entirely on Zoey. She didn’t notice Mrs. Marshall standing among the crowd behind her.
Soon, the elevator arrived on the first floor.
Wren Sutton carried Zoey back toward the emergency building. Mrs. Marshall followed, not too close but not too far, and watched with her own eyes as the "mother and daughter" went into a hospital room.
After asking a nurse, she confirmed that the little girl named Zoey called Wren Sutton "Mom," and that Wren hadn’t denied or corrected her.
Mrs. Marshall looked as if she had discovered an earth-shattering secret, unable to hide the excitement in her eyes.
’If Adrian Lancaster finds out that Wren Sutton has been secretly raising an illegitimate daughter...’
’If I’d known Wren had such a huge vulnerability, I never would have let Maya take such a desperate risk, only to end up with an amputation.’
At this thought, Mrs. Marshall’s expression turned venomous and full of hate. She blamed Wren Sutton entirely for her daughter’s fate.
She suppressed the urge to rush forward and tear Wren Sutton to pieces, lest she tip her off. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎

Wren Sutton brought Zoey back to the hospital room and tried to feed her.
Zoey had no appetite. After just a few bites, she shook her head, refusing to eat more. Her face was clouded with sleepiness. She closed her eyes and, without any need for coaxing, fell asleep within minutes.
Wren Sutton didn’t think much of it. She assumed Zoey was just tired. She hadn’t rested well the night before and had woken up far too early this morning.
She sat quietly in her chair, never leaving the girl’s side. Her hands drifted to her own stomach, and she exuded a gentle, maternal glow.
Since opening up to Isla Griffith last night, Wren Sutton had felt a weight lift off her shoulders. She no longer had to agonize over a painful decision.
’Once the divorce is finalized, I’ll leave Aston, settle down somewhere else, and see this pregnancy through.’
’The world is a big place. There must be a corner somewhere for me and my child.’
Around noon, Zoey’s lab results came back.
The doctor called Wren Sutton into his office.
As they sat facing each other, Wren Sutton sensed that something was wrong. She decided to break the silence.
"Doctor, the test results... there’s nothing wrong, is there?"
The doctor reviewed the results again, his eyes lingering on the blood test report. His expression was grave, almost pained.
"I have to tell you the results. Please, prepare yourself."
At his words, Wren Sutton’s heart sank. A terrible premonition washed over her.
"Please, don’t scare me. What’s wrong with Zoey?"
The doctor handed her the report, his voice heavy. "The preliminary results indicate that the child has leukemia."
The words struck Wren Sutton like a bolt from the blue.
She froze, stunned, as if her very blood had turned to ice. She couldn’t believe what she had just heard.
’Zoey has leukemia?!’
Wren’s mind was in turmoil, and it was a long while before the storm inside her began to subside.
The news was simply devastating.
"Doctor, are you sure this isn’t a mistake? Did you grab the wrong report?"
The doctor adjusted his glasses, his heart aching for her.
"I understand how you must feel as her guardian. But I must tell you, with all seriousness, that there has been no mistake with the report."
Wren Sutton closed her eyes in despair. An image of Zoey’s cherubic face and her sweet, innocent expressions flashed through her mind.
’Why did fate have to be so cruel?’
’Maybe this is why Zoey’s parents abandoned her.’
The thought made Wren’s heart ache even more.
Even with no medical training, she knew how devastating leukemia was. She also knew that besides a bone marrow transplant, there were no other truly effective treatments.
But a bone marrow transplant was easier said than done.
The success rate for a match is highest among immediate family members. But the problem was, she had no idea who Zoey’s birth parents were. Who could they possibly test for a match?
Wren Sutton didn’t even remember how she left the doctor’s office. She found herself leaning against the hallway wall, clutching the lab report so tightly her knuckles were white. Her heart burned with anxiety, and she felt completely lost.
「Inpatient Ward」
Mrs. Marshall returned with explosive news.
"Wren Sutton has an illegitimate daughter! She’s in the emergency department with the girl right now. Hurry and tell Adrian Lancaster. Have him come here and catch her in the act."
"Wren Sutton is finished this time. She’s done for. Not even God himself could save her now."
Maya Marshall found it unbelievable. ’Does Wren Sutton have a death wish?’ she thought. ’Hiding something this huge from the Lancaster family... is she not afraid to die?’
"Mom, you must be joking. How could Wren dare to do something like that?"
"Why wouldn’t she dare? I heard that little girl call her ’Mom’ with my own two ears. I even went out of my way to ask a nurse in the emergency department. There’s no mistake," Mrs. Marshall said adamantly.
"From what I saw, the child is only about three or four. If that’s the case, Wren Sutton must have been pregnant before she got married. There’s no way that child belongs to the Lancaster family."
