Chapter 63: Chapter 62: The Captain Of The Savage Army

A white heinous smile appeared in the darkness ahead of them. Azriel gulped thinking about the stunt he had pulled off earlier before coming for the breakthrough.

"The White Knights of Seraphine have come, along with their deputy leader Hael Sinclair. We just had to prepare the feast for them. Right boys?" He continued, revealing his face by lighting up the candle in the torch he was holding. While the laughter of his men surrounded the corridor.

It revealed a savage man, they hadn’t seen ever before. Hael turned to look at Laurent, with an intention to get some information on this man. But to his disappointment even Laurent was unaware.

"Allen or should I call you Azriel. Do you not recognise me?" He spoke, reducing the distance between his enemies.

Both Hael and Laurent turned to Azriel, who was standing behind them. His face said everything, he knew this man and they were in trouble.

"The captain of the savage army. How did you—" Azriel said, surprised by the appearance of a man, who is only called on notice.

"How did I get here?" He completed the sentence for him then laughed in a sinister high pitch.

Another man revealed himself. As much as the captain of the savage army hadn’t surprised them, this man had done wonders in sheer contrast.

"Kar!" Azriel immediately recognised his petrol partner.

Before leaving for this last showdown. Azriel had made a small mistake, he thought would not hinder their mission at all. He had told everything to Kar, who was suffering from staying in this land full of injustice.

"You betrayed me!" Azriel yelled in agony.

"Allen. I mean Azriel. All I ever wanted was to rise to the top." He fumbled. Somewhat guilty of his act but had a justification to back it. "I just didn’t want to be like those monster’s in front of a kind man like you. But inside I am a monster, just like any other man here."

Azriel could do nothing else but remain shocked. He believed Kar had become a good friend of his. But he was wrong.

One of the men from the savage army attacked the three people who had infiltrated the castle. They were just three men but only these three were no less than a full-fledged army. Hael blocked the attack with his sword, half out of his scabbard. Laurent knocked his scabbard on Azriel.

"Wake up! No time to regret." He shouted before charging into the darkness, to kill off the enemy.

The savage army thought taking away the light could weaken their enemies, but they were wrong. All three of them couldn’t see that clearly, but they could hear just fine. Enough to spot where their enemies are. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚

Laurent charged through the twenty something soldiers, killing at least five in one go and injuring not less than three. A man emerged from back, dripping vengeance from his eyes, for losing one of his limbs. But his effort was useless. For his head was flying the next moment.

Azriel, also got back to his senses and charged in to help Laurent. They couldn’t estimate the exact amount of army surrounding them. But they could feel that there were enough people to fill the complete corridor.

Hael rushed to the captain, their swords clashing like wind, echoing in the corridor. The captain of the savage army has the physique of an elephant. Tall, muscular and strong. His sword landed on Hael’s, with great force. Each blow, stronger than the last one.

"You can never kill my master! I will be paid handsomely if I kill you." He shouted with a grin.

"Ha!" Hael scoffed, blocking another strong blow. "You are just a savage group. Did you really believe in that cruel man’s words?" He pushed his sword away from him, making the captain slide at least two feet back.

"How delusional of you!" Hael found an opening. He sprinted to him, his sword pointing straight to the enemy’s abdomen.

But the enemy dodged it on time, leaving him with a deep scar, instead of a wound deep enough to have him bleeding to death.

The huge man blew his elbow over Hael’s back, making him lose balance and fall on his knees. However, fortunately with the help of his sword, he avoided falling on his jaw.

"I will kill that old man, if he betrays me. But first let me deal with you." Another attack came from above, slicing the minimal wind in the completely filled up corridor.

In time, Hael tumbled behind, avoiding the attack. He got back on his feet and they started attacking again. They left little scars on each other in every attack.

Hael was just buying time, waiting for his generals to deal with the other people. When he looked there to see the situation, a smile broke on his face.

"Damn it! Die already!" The captain of the savage army, annoyed by no real attack from Haels side, went on with his most powerful move. But it was all a waste. For Hael dodged that one as well.

"You are in trouble!" Hael shouted breathlessly, confusing his enemy. When the two generals attacked from behind, thrusted their sword in his back.

His large sword slipped out of his hand, and his knees lost it’s balance, throwing him on the harsh marble floor. Hael gasped in some air before silently passing his sword through the enemy’s evil heart.

Eleanore heard a strange, silent sound from outside her door, as she explained the contents of the letter her brother had sent her, to Stella. They both turned their gaze to the door.

"What was that?" Stella asked, getting a bad feeling from that.

"I don’t know." Eleanore was equally scared. Her heart had taken up a dangerously high speed, her instincts telling her something was wrong.

Then she wondered. Shouldn’t the system warn her, if something was wrong, like last time? In contrast, the system showed no signs of danger approaching Stella. She realised that she must stay close to Stella, to keep herself safe as well. For the system would warn her only if Stella is in danger.

The next second, someone vigorously knocked on the door, scaring the shit out of the two women present in the room, again.

"I think we are thinking too much. Nothing is wrong." Eleanore said. "Let me go see who it is." She carefully folded the letter and started out of the balcony. When Stella stopped her by grabbing her wrist.

"Elle, something feels off." Stella conveys her unsettling feelings to Eleanore, but she wards it off.

"Don’t worry. I’m sure nothing is wrong." Eleanore tried to convince her, when the locked door started to get harshly beaten by the person outside again.

Eleanore shook Stella’s hand and gently placed the letter on the cabinet next to the balcony, before opening the door that revealed the old head maid of Lancaster Mansion. "My lady—" She began.

"What’s wrong?" Eleanore felt relieved on seeing her.

"There is an intruder in the mansion. Your maid is also missing." Eleanore wondered if the sound from earlier belonged to Marina.

"We must evacuate you two—" Before the head maid could complete her master’s order, she gasped. "Baroness!" She shouted.

Eleanore turned around to see what was wrong. Like the head maid, she let out a gasp too. A man dressed in black like an assassin, was standing on the railing of the balcony, holding a long sword in his hand. His eyes sending a murderous aura in the room.
