Saving The Villainous Monster From The Male Lead-Chapter 59 - 58: Caelestis’ Strange Behaviour
Caelestis had left Stella’s side, when she went to defend her dear friend. At first, he only wanted to make sure if she was alright, but he couldn’t stop himself from barging into the balcony, when he saw them hugging.
"What are you doing over here?" He asked but Eleanore remained in her position, unwilling to answer, as she faced Caelestis’ questioning. She was too focused on Alastor and in hiding her tears. She started to whip them off but it was too late, they were seen.
"What’s going on? You were crying?" He asked, lowering his voice to sound worried, but it sounded nothing like a man concerned about his childhood friend. Just a facade, like always.
"None of your business, Grand Duke. Please leave us alone." Eleanore requested in a firm voice.
"If you don’t tell me why you ran over here and why you were crying, just now. I won’t leave." He argued.
"Am I obliged to tell you everything that is going on in my life?" She frowned in disdain.
"Eleanore—"
"Leave." She yelled.
Caelestis gulped at that cracking loud voice that had never escaped her mouth before. He stood there, as if frozen from its impact.
Eleanore turned back to Alastor. She brushed her hand on his shoulder trying to calm him down. The frozen Caelestis flared with anger on that scene. Without thinking twice, he rushed to her and grabbed her wrist, suddenly pulling her from behind the crown prince.
"Grand Duke!" Eleanore shouted on feeling a sharp pain in her wrist. However, Caelestis ignored his cry. He continued pulling or rather dragging her until he couldn’t anymore.
"Stop it. You are hurting the Lady." Alastor finally turned around, instead of wearing his simple beautiful face, he was glaring at the grand duke with anger, his jaw clenched tightly as he spoke. "Let her go!"
Caelestis turned to him. "Why must I listen to you? What relationship do you have with the Lady?" He asked.
"I am her—" Alastor’s eyes shifted to Eleanore’s worried ones. He smiled for her and answered. "—Friend."
"And I am her guardian at the moment." Alastor turned back to Caelestis, his smile disappearing again. "If I tell her to leave, she has to do it."
Alastor’s face dropped. He had no argument for that. Hael had left his sister in Caelestis’ care, which means he is indeed her guardian.
Slowly he let go of her wrist. Immediately as his grip on her loosened, Caelestis pulled her out of the Balcony. Alator stood there broken, as he felt her hand slipping out of his.
Fortunately, there was no one in the corridor that was not that far from the ballroom. Thus no one witnessed this scene, and Eleanore was thankful for that. Any more rumours with this man would only lead to harm than good.
Annoyed and confused by this act of Caelestis. Eleanore pulled her hand out of his clutches but lost her balance due to sudden break in movement and her jackass high heels. However, Caelestis caught her before she could fall down.
"Why did you do that?" Eleanore asked, when his face came close to hers. Their eyes met and she could still see rage in his scarlet pupils.
"I was worried about you." He simply said. Although it sounded genuine this time, Eleanore could never believe the word of this monster. She pushed him away.
"Don’t lie to me." She shouted, frustrated by his facade. "You, Grand duke. Can never be worried for me."
"Why? You are my responsibility."
"Really? Then where was this responsible, grand duke, when you were choking me to death that night?" Eleanore folded her hands around her chest, as she questioned his mentality.
Caelestis was ashamed of the act he had pulled off that night. He could get extremely violent at times. He was not proud of it but he couldn’t control it, as well.
His eyes dropped from her face in shame and landed on her wrist that he had held. It was wounded, the black marks of his fingers were clearly visible. Without thinking twice, he gently brushed his finger on her wound, disheartened and guilty to hurt her again.
"I’m sorry. I—" Before he could continue his apology, they heard an uproar in the ballroom.
"What was that?" Eleanore asked before ignoring Caelestis and running out of the corridor to the ballroom.
A crowd had formed in the middle of the dance floor, she had left. As she wondered what was going on, she heard someone yelling from inside. "What do you think you are doing?" The voice was hard to recognize but not difficult.
Caelestis had caught up by then. Eleanore turned to him in horror. "That was Flora’s voice. Where is stella?" She asked.
"I don’t know." He answered.
Eleanore felt disgusted by this man. He should be with the woman he loves, not with her. She shook her head and quickly rushed through the crowd to the centre. ’It looks like in every banquet I am going to be running through the crowds. Damn it!’
She broke through the crowd only to find Verbena with an empty glass of wine and Stella on the ground, covered in the wine that might have been in that glass
Eleanore could estimate what might have happened. Verbena might have come to torment Stella again. ’Why does it look like she is turning into the original Eleanore?’ Eleanore wondered. It could be possible that since she has stopped being a villainess in Stella’s story, someone else has taken her place.
"Lady Verbena, what you did was extremely disrespectful." Flora continued to remain by Stella’s side.
Stella is now Eleanore’s friend as well. And she believes that everyone Eleanore cherishes must be cherished by her. There was a time when Flora used to stand beside Eleanore, the perpetrator, to bully Stella and now because of Eleanore again, she is standing with the victim.
"Lady Flora, there was a time we used to bully her together, then what makes you say such words, today?" Verbena asked, feeling wronged.
