Saving The Villainous Monster From The Male Lead-Chapter 134 - 133: Marriage Certificate

As if Alastor was waiting for her and knew that she would arrive, he had set up a table in the green house for her. Eleanore had no need to explain the reason behind her visit and was simply guided there by a royal maid.

Alastor got out of his table, when he saw Eleanore nearing him. He set his hair once again, brushing it to his place with his fingers. Gently, he plucked up her hand and kissed the black of her palm, lightly. Then looked up with a smile tugged on his face.

"Good afternoon, Lady Eleanore." His smile brightened up when his eyes fell on her beautiful face.

"I am a duchess now, crown prince." Eleanore gently presented her reason for visit.

Alastor’s smile dropped and his eyes shifted to the maid behind her. "Bring some tea and snacks. Also do not forget the plain plum cakes. They are her favorites." He orders.

The maid obeys and leaves quickly.

"Please, have a seat. Lady Eleanore." He completely ignored the correction; she had a maid just minutes ago.

Instead of waging a fight with him, she walked to the seat. Alastor overtook her and pulled the chair behind, creating a silent grating sound. She didn’t say much and just took the seat, which Alastor pushed in, before sitting across her.

"I was expecting you. You have no idea—" Eleanore cuts him off.

"I am not here to chat with you. You rejected the marriage certificate. I am here to hear why?" She leans forward, as she asks for the answers behind that stunt he pulled this morning.

"You two ran away and got married without a notice." He answers, completely stunned by her distant tone.

"So? Now everyone knows. Did you not read the Seraphine Story Time?"

"Eleanore, that cannot be the source of news for us. It should have been you two." He sighs.

"How many times must I tell you until you understand that I am a duchess now. Why are you still referring to the first name of a married woman?" She looked offended, but from inside she didn’t care.

"A married woman? For real? Where’s the proof?" Alastor finally loses his temper.

"I have witnesses." She counters.

"Isn’t enough."

"Why are you being so stubborn like a child? My blood brother accepted this marriage. Why can’t you?" Eleanore’s question sounded like a knife aiming for his heart.

"Because I love you and am not as foolish as your brother."

Eleanore couldn’t deny any of the facts that he had stated. Her brother believes all the nonsense she uttered and Alastor does love her deeply. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮

She leaned back and sighed loudly, tired of explaining everything to everyone and somehow making them believe in that shabby explanation Caelestis had prepared. ’Who would ever be convinced by it? Except my brother of course, and he was the only person Caelestis wanted to trick. So, well that works.’

"Can’t the grand duke of the kingdom and the only lady of the duke’s family make mistakes?" She utters, leaving Alastor stunned.

She turned her gaze back to him from the glass ceiling above her. "Just accept the damn Marriage certificate. Why is that so hard?"

"You do not even like him." The maid appears with the tea and snacks.

They turn quiet and wait for her to leave. While the maid was walking out of the greenhouse, Eleanore’s eyes fell on the plain plum cakes.

"Do you know my favorite sweet is a Pistachio cake. This sweet was just a rumor." She looks up. "Caelestis knew it. I don’t know how, but he did. He does love me, Crown Prince. It’s just that none of you can see it, only I can."

Eleanore for a while, couldn’t believe she lied with such ease. Caelestis had found out about her favourite sweet from her brother and he had only used his knowledge to lure her into marrying him. He didn’t love her, he never would. For some reason, his hatred for her is so deep, that no one in the world could finish it off.

Out of nowhere, she feels nauseous and decides to leave. It should be fine to just come here tomorrow again and discuss this matter with a clear mind.

With a louder grating sound of that metal chair than before, she left it with the support of the small table between them. "I think I should leave."

"What? No, wait. I am not done yet."

"Well, talking to you is like beating my head on a rock-solid wall." She turns around to leave only to be shocked by an appearance none of the two had expected.

"Good afternoon, Queen Isador of the Seraphine Kingdom." She bowed as she greeted the mother of the man she had only just insulted.

"Good afternoon, Lady Eleanore. I mean the duchess of Lancaster family." She corrected herself and also looked somewhat angry.

"Queen, I—" Isador raises her palm in the air, asking Eleanore to shut up.

"The marriage certificate. It will be issued tomorrow morning. Your request has been accepted. You can leave now."

"But mother—"

"Crown Prince. It is high time you stop your madness. The woman you love is wedded to someone else." Her gaze moves to her son. "Accept it."

Alastor turns quiet. He had never expected this from his own mother. She knew how much he cares for Eleanore. How much he loves her yet agreed to issue the marriage certificate? Why would she do that to her own son?

He glares at her for a while, before excusing himself from the green house. Leaving Eleanore confused, scared and alone with the queen.

"My son is still very childish. I hope you can forgive him." She turns to Eleanore after confirming her son has left.

"That’s fine, queen. I think I can understand the state of his heart."

Isador’s eyebrows arched on hearing that. Unable to figure out the meaning behind those words. How could she ever understand the state of his heart? She has the love of her life with her.
