Saving The Villainous Monster From The Male Lead-Chapter 135 - 134: The Insult And The Realisation
Eleanore couldn’t believe her eyes as she held the invitation in her hand. This morning, a postman delivered this invitation to Lilith, who gave it to Eleanore without letting Caelestis know.
After giving him the news that the marriage certificate would be issued today, he didn’t come to his room last night and Eleanore could finally grab some sleep. However, she also missed the opportunity to ask for shifting to the room on the third floor.
Then again, she thought, does she even need his permission to gain her reward for that awful meet last night?
No!
Thus, she had made up her mind to leave the dull, black room tonight after the reception party of her brother and sister-in-law. She was so thrilled that ever since it arrived, she wouldn’t stop looking at it and reading it over and over again.
"Madam, are you sure you will be fine alone?" She asked, as she folded up her clothes and started packing up to move.
"Yeah, I don’t want to take him with me. He will only cause a ruckus there." She answers, setting her necklace properly.
"But Madam. You just got married. What would it look like if you attended the reception without your newly wedded husband?" Marina secured the bags.
"She is right, Eleanore. What would it look like if your newly wedded husband is not present?" Caelestis entered the room immediately as he got the news of the reception party.
Originally, he was only here to inform her about this party where she was not invited. Wouldn’t that make her feel miserable? That would have given him immense joy.
However, to his surprise instead of getting to see that scene, his dull room had somehow brightened up. As he heard their conversation, he soon realised that Eleanore had received an invitation but was unwilling to take him along.
"I will get ready in a bit." He kisses on the back of her palm and smirks. "Don’t worry honey, I won’t make you late."
"I am not your honey and why the hell are you calling me by my first name?" She feels instantly provoked by this act.
"Why? Of course, because you are my wife. What else should I call you if not that?" He asks, messing around with her palm.
Eleanore pulls her arm away from his hand. "Madam. You shall call me Madam?"
He smiles, as he reduces the distance between them. "Whatever you say, my love." He pushes the stud of her earring deep into her skin, making her flinch a bit in pain.
He turned to his walk-in-wardrobe, when Eleanore called him out. "You are not coming with me." She declares.
"No, I am." He looks over his shoulder and smiles. "If I don’t go with you, you can’t either."
"You are unbelievable." Eleanore shouts.
"I know."
She never had a choice or a say in anything. Caelestis does whatever he wants without caring a thing about her. He was so determined in hurting Eleanore in every possible way that he had started to forget how to be a good man. A kind friend and a kind husband.
The realisation that Eleanore helped him arrive on in the last few months, was all in vain. Utterly useless. For he had already erased it completely from his memory. This was his revenge, and he didn’t need any weird thoughts that would restrict him from achieving it.
They soon arrived at the Sinclair mansion, but their carriage was stopped outside the gate for some reason.
Caelestis got down to find out what had gone wrong.
"You are not included in the invitation list, Grand duke." A gate keeper said, somewhat afraid but had no choice but to obey his lord’s orders.
Caelestis walked back to the carriage where in Eleanore was still seated.
"Did you truly get invited, Madam?" He asked, through the small window of the carriage.
"Yes, of course." She said in her defence.
"Then did you bring the invitation along?" He held out his hand for the invitation.
"Right." Eleanore pulled out the invitation from her purse and handed it over to him.
Caelestis walks back to the gatekeeper and presents the invitation to them. They exchange a confused look before gulping and speaking to Caelestis again. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
"Grand duke. We would like to apologise. Even if you have this invitation, we cannot let you in." One of them says, shivering under Caelestis’ dominating gaze.
"Why?" Eleanore gets down with the help of the driver of their carriage. "Can’t you see the invitation? Are you two blind?"
She walks up to them. "Sirs, even if I am married, I am still part of this family. You cannot insult me."
"Duchess!" One of them bows and gestures while the other does the same. "We didn’t mean to insult you. The thing is." He straightened his back. "The duke asked us to not let you and your husband in today, no matter what." He reveals.
Eleanore is stunned on hearing that. Not just here, but the line that had formed behind her carriage was also completely awestruck. Moreover, their whispers spread in the air, making Eleanore embarrassed with every passing gossip.
The gentlemen who had gotten down from their carriage to see the situation, turned to their wives. "Looks like the gossip in the newspaper was real." One spoke.
"Can’t believe they shamelessly got married."
"If someone from higher status does such shameful acts what would our kids learn? They should have maintained their dignity no matter how much in love they were."
Caelestis, however, was least bothered by those gossips. Instead, he was just enjoying the show and Eleanore’s nearly teary eyes. What a sight for him! After all this is exactly what he wanted.
"Madam, I think we should leave." He suggests with a smirk, ragging her with it.
Eleanore shoved his hand off her shoulder and turned to leave, completely broken and insulted. It was then that she finally accepted that she was no longer Sinclair and Hael was no longer the brother she knew.
