Chapter 129: Chapter 128: Shattered Dreams

Eleanore was back in the same mansion; she had left for good. In all honesty, she hated to be here. Yet I was feeling relieved to hear the maids whisper about the most awaited marriage. Hael and Stella’s marriage ended with blessings from all and a party bash. The only thing lacking in it was her presence.

The dreams she had seen, the work she had done to make that day special for two important people in her life, went all unseen. She wasn’t even able to see them get married.

Stella had asked her yesterday to escort her through the aisle, as her family. She was very happy to hear that and was excited as well. But she was not there today.

"I wonder who escorted her?" She finally got up from the couch, she had been in for hours.

The exhausting wedding dress was killing her and why wouldn’t it? After all, this dress was given by Caelestis to her. It was obviously going to poke her back.

Eleanore reached out for the ropes of her corset, and with much difficulty was finally able to get out of that bulky, shitty, white gown. It wasn’t even her taste. If she were to ever marry, she had made up her mind to never wear a dress like that one, lying on the ground.

Her wedding dress would have been a sleek one, tailored by the Baroness. It would have been without a crinoline, which was more like a birdcage. The corset would also have been removed from the design. It would have been a simple flowy dress, with many layers and would have an off shoulder, highlighting her collar bones.

When she stood in front of the mirror in her mere inner wear, she could picture that dress on her. The long veil down her golden hair and a beautiful bouquet made out of tulips.

Nothing about this wedding was picture perfect.

Caelestis had somewhat kidnapped her from her room. He had taken her from the same path he had snuck in. When they returned to the Lancaster mansion, he had the dress and jewellery ready for her in his room. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦

Two maids had helped her dress and then they had rushed to the church that wasn’t too far. The church had no decor what-so-ever to celebrate their wedding. The vows were said, the hymns were sung and then it was time to exchange rings, which was skipped since none had a ring on them.

When it was time to kiss, they awkwardly touched their lips. It was nothing great. They departed after an exact second and it was nothing like a kiss done in weddings. The anticipation and excitement one feel at that moment was nowhere to be found on any of their faces.

It was more of a crappy show than a wedding.

Eleanore looked at the nightwear, the maid had left hours ago. It was untouched and only received disgusted stares from her.

"What’s the point of that dress?" She walked to it and it finally received the privilege of getting picked up from that place. "It isn’t like anything is going to happen, right?" She asked herself, as she picked it up and saw how annoyingly see through it was.

Even her inner, she was wearing at the moment, was much better in comparison.

A woman has high expectations for their first night, but even that couldn’t be looked forward to. Caelestis wouldn’t even lay a hand on her and even if he does, she would have been disgusted by it.

Eleanore covered herself with the blanket on the bed and curled over the couch at the end of the bed, again.

She sat there lost in thought and cursing her luck.

Her annoying system popped up as if to torment her, that it won and she was terribly defeated. Eleanore realised that she had no choice with this system and that she can never deny any of its tasks or quests. She is obliged to carry them all off, without a complaint.

This made her wonder, had she agreed to marry Caelestis earlier none of this would have happened. Their wedding wouldn’t have taken place in the darkness of night, her brother wouldn’t have been so mad, she wouldn’t have missed his wedding and would be regretting her life decisions like this.

"It was my fault, after all." She slapped her palm on her forehead, as anger rose in her veins. Why did she have to be so stubborn? "I only complicated things; I am a fool."

Eleanore could cry at this, but she held back not because she was strong but because she was tired of crying. She had been doing the same action for hours and was now drained. There was perhaps not a single drop of water even left in her body, that could come out in the form of tears.

She swiped away the screen, unwilling to even look at it. At that time, she could only wish that the notification she has been waiting for arrives quickly. The notification saying that she has completed the mission and can now return to the original world.

The knob of the door clicked open and she found Caelestis standing in front of her. He stood there for a while trying to digest the scene. His room was a mess, and that mess was created by a certain someone who was of no use to him.

Everything has turned to hell, ever since this woman came to his mansion five months ago. It all happened because she changed and forced him to change as well. While everything was her fault, he had a fair share in it too. His fault was to ever believe in this vile woman.

Caelestis takes a few steps in but is met with silence and ignorance. Annoyed by her behaviour, he decides to spew some infuriating words.

"You are of no use to me and yet you have the nerve to make such a mess." He utters.
