Saving The Villainous Monster From The Male Lead-Chapter 128 - 127: A Sister’s Betrayal & A Brother’s Anger
Hael is completely shocked on hearing those words. He could now make out the meaning behind the weight dress she was wearing. It’s a wedding dress. She truly had married Caelestis. But why? Didn’t she hate him?
"Elle!" Stella came forward. She gently placed her hand on her shoulder. "Why would you do that?" She asks.
"Stella! Didn’t I always say I was not sure about my feelings? Turns out I always was. I loved him and I will continue to love him forever." Her eyes softened and she feels a burning sensation in her throat as she lies.
"You could have told us." Stella brushed her fingers on her face. "We would have let you marry him. Why do this in secret?"
"I—"
Caelestis pulls her behind and steps in front. "It was all a plan." He says, trying to cover up Eleanore. She looked nervous and it looked like she had no intention to say what they had planned before the marriage.
"I loved you, Stella but you betrayed me and decided to marry my best friend. Thus, I planned this, and Eleanore was in it with me. Right?" He looked over his shoulder to get confirmation of Eleanore, who was hiding behind him.
Eleanore gathers some strength and comes forward. "It was all my plan to have you marry my brother. To swiftly take you, a thorn out of my way."
She held Caelestis’ hand again. "He refused at first but then agreed on terms of our bet. He also wanted to see if you are jealous, Stella." Her gaze moves to Stella, who didn’t believe any of that shit. "Are you jealous, Stella?"
"No." Her tone was firm and Caelestis’ grip on Eleanore’s palm tightened. "To be honest, you two are not convincing me at all."
Eleanore laughs. "What can’t you understand? Having Caelestis marry me last night was difficult. When I brought forward the terms of our bet he agreed. He wanted one last confirmation that you don’t love him, and he got it. In return, I could marry my love."
"What bet are they talking about, Stella?" Hael asks, feeling lost in this conversation.
Like always, their luck wasn’t very good and a certain someone heard the conversation from then on.
"Eleanore set a bet, to free me from Caelestis’ confinement. By the time you return from the mission, he had to prove that I too love him. He couldn’t do it and lost the bet. That’s all" Stella explained.
"No, that isn’t all." Eleanore came forward. "If he loses the bet, he has to marry me and let Stella go forever."
"So, you did this to save Stella?" Hael concluded.
He didn’t want to believe that his own sister could be so evil and could plot against him. The thought that she used him to get Stella out of her way, sounded unlike her. She would never do that to her own brother, her only family.
"No. I did it to get Stella out of my way." She answers, the exact opposite of what he was expecting.
As if the land beneath him was pulled away. He felt like his world had fallen apart. His own sister used him for her so-called obsession, she calls love.
The sword falls out of his hand, and he covers his face with the same one. "How could you do that?" His voice was laced with despair. It was so unbearable that he couldn’t even hold his ground. "I always knew you were a bit evil, Elle but I had never even imagined you would use me for your gain."
He was about to fall and both Stella and Eleanore tried to rush to him. The only difference was that Stella reached him, and Eleanore was pulled back by Caelestis.
"How could you?" Hael was in too much pain. His usual warm eyes turned cold, when he raised his head out of his palm again. "Leave!" He orders; his voice echoed in the huge hall.
"Broth—"
"Shut up and leave at this very moment." He shouts. "I do not want to see your face."
Eleanore shuttered on hearing that, there was no room to argue. Although she knew this might happen and had braced herself for it. Now that it is happening, she couldn’t quite handle it that well.
"You are no longer my sister!" Stella pulls him back.
"Hael, what are you doing? You need to stay calm." She tries to stop the situation from escalating.
"No!" He pulls his arm out of Stellas. "I am hurt Stella and just looking at her face makes me want to kill her and myself."
He then turns to Eleanore. "You are a disappointment. You have always been a disappointment. It was I, who had tried to protect you from every mistake you made. I shielded you from the world and you used me? How could you?"
"Hael!" Stella tries to hold him back, but he escapes from her grasp.
His huge hands grab Eleanore’s wrist tightly and start pulling her out of the mansion. Caelestis quickly takes action and stands in front of him, blocking his path.
"Stop it!" He says in a firm voice. "You are hurting her."
Hael’s gaze travels back to his sisters. Her eyes were filled with tears that never escaped them. However, this time, these tears of hers were not able to stop him. He clenches his jaw and with all his stretch throws her to Caelestis.
Eleanore falls into Caelestis’ arms. Her face buried in his chest, as tears start streaming out of her eyes.
"Go live with your new husband, since you love him so much. When he treats you like dirt, you will realise who this brother of yours is." His heart ached as he said those words.
His words had probably broken Eleanore’s heart in pieces, he could feel it yet couldn’t stop his running mouth.
"And you." He points at Caelestis. "If your reason behind marrying my sister was to break my marriage. Just forget it. I am still getting married at the same time, in the same venue. And mind you, you are not welcomed."
Caelestis’ eyebrows arched in shock. He hadn’t expected that kind of response. He thought that Eleanore’s betrayal would break him, and he would not be able to get married in that grief. But then, why is everything not going his way?
"Do not show me your face as well. We are no longer friends. We are from today onwards, just colleagues." He declares, before shutting the door of his mansion on them.
