Saving The Villainous Monster From The Male Lead-Chapter 118 - 117: The New Couple!
Eleanore didn’t have to wait long for the rules of the auction party to be revealed. For Sir. Millain had no time to waste.
"Like every year. Let me repeat the rules of today’s auction party." Everyone let out an aw, as everyone was aware of the rules except one.
"Don’t do that. We have newly debutante kids here." He adds. "Also, there are two new rules. One is a sad one, but the other would lift up the mood."
Everyone cheered, when they heard new rules being added up.
"First and foremost, I would like to thank the queen for arranging such an amazing part and adding these amazing new rules." He bowed for the queen then began reciting the rules.
"Like always. The white flowers symbolize single ladies and gentlemen and the red flowers represent the married ones. The single ladies and gentlemen will come to this state one by one, when their names are called. Then the bidding will take place with an equal price of 1 million gold for all."
Eleanore was stunned to hear that. Will she have to stand there and get insulted as people bid for her, like she was being sold?
"The highest bidder will have the privilege to earn a single date of at least five hours, with that lady or gentleman." He completes the rule, and they make her feel disgusted further.
"The two new rules added is, that the red flowers cannot participate—" Immediately boos follow from that side of the audience. "— But— but they can help increase the bid. We need all the money we can, yeah?" The boo’s turn into cheers.
"The second added rule is. Until last year we were not counting those who were in the dating stage. This year we also welcome dating couples. They can bid for each other right here on the stage and win a date in the luxurious restaurant, Paradise."
The hooting and cheering increases.
"Now, let’s begin. May we have the dating couples here on stage, so that we could get some new couple gossip." He winks, spreading laughs.
Some known dating couples get up and Eleanore turns to her brother instantly, waiting for them to declare their love in public. Her eyes widened in sheer excitement when she saw her brother rising from his seat and moving to his love. He wipers something in her ears first, having her blush like a light and then holding out her hand.
"Shall we, my lady?" He asks and Stella takes it.
They were wearing a couple dresses, white and yellow. Her gown flew as a gust of wind passed through the garden and cheers followed, along with showering claps. The claps were first started by Eleanore herself, when she saw them walking to the stage.
"Oh my, looks like we have a new couple in the capital." The host adds oil in the fire and the cheers increase.
"You knew they were dating?" Daphne asked.
"No, I was speculating." She smiles as she sees her brother helping Stella on the stage.
That’s when her eyes catch the black hair, in the front row. The person sitting there was probably Caelestis and he looked unbothered. Eleanore couldn’t see his face from the third row. The only part of the body visible to her was his back, that was comfortably leaning back on the chair.
"Duke of Sinclair, can we know how long you have been dating the baroness?" He asked.
"A week." He turns to Stella with a smile.
"Oh my, that’s fresh." He laughs. "Shall we begin with the new couple then." The cheers were the agreement of the audience.
Hael swirled to stand facing Stella, he held her other palm and with loving eyes declared his bidding. "Hundred million for my lady."
His words shocked most of the crowd, making them scream in absolute joy. Some felt envious, others didn’t think much and Eleanore. She couldn’t help but be the loudest to cheer for them.
"Thank you, my love." Stella speaks up, as she smiles back at him. "However, I cannot afford that much, so ten million."
"Fifteen Million." A loud bid passed from the back of the red rose tables.
Everyone turned to that man, an old noble. He smiled sitting there, while the host stopped him. "Baron, you cannot bid."
"Wait, I thought red flowers could bid, to increase it? Wouldn’t that help Mr. Millain?"
"Oh well, That’s loophole." He scratched his hair, when Hael shot a glare his way.
"But—" The Baron stood up, with a stick in his hand. "If my dear duke, kisses the baroness. I will step back."
His words sent a thrill down the audience.
Hael turned to him. "Grandfather." He speaks.
Eleanore’s face jolted in the Baron’s direction. ’I have a grandfather?’
The baron mischievously winks at him.
"Fine." Hael turns back to Stella, but another interruption appears, when Eleanore stands up from her chair.
She turns to her grandfather. "But grandfather?" The old baron turns to her, confused. "Isn’t this a bit too easy?" Her words fill the atmosphere with tension.
"Why? Then what should I ask, my dear granddaughter?" He smiles.
Eleanore turns to the stage and meets her eyes with Stella. "My grandfather will stop, Baroness. If you kiss my brother first." She folds her hand around her chest, wearing a mischievous smile."
"Eleanore?" Hael feels shy on hearing that.
"Do it! Do it! Do it!" She chants and everyone follows.
That’s when Daphne and Lauriel also get out of their chairs. "Kiss! Kiss! Kiss!"
Stella’s eyes fall to the ground in embarrassment. She closes them tightly before jerking her face up, grabbing his huge face in her little palm and kissing him intensely. Just how he had thought her the last time.
Hael melts, he locks his hands around her waist and picks her up in the air, continuing the kiss for a few more seconds. While the hooting and cheering only increased.
Everyone was excited, cheering and clapping except for one person. Grand Duke Lancaster. He simply stared at the couple in complete disdain.
