Saving the Heartthrob Frenemy-Chapter 502: "What’s my type?"
Bo Ailun looked at himself. He didn’t think he was still chubby so why was she calling him chubs? Qie Xieling’s lips upturned resisting the urge to laugh.
"I am pretty sure Chubs don’t like you like that. You aren’t his type," he said before taking a bite of the only palatable thing on their table and that was some shredded potatoes. The carnivore was now a herbivore and frugivore all because of her good husband over here.
"Who is my type then since you know everything?" asked Bo Ailun with a sneer. He believed Qie Xieling was ruining his young master and spoiling all his future plans thus he took this as some form of retaliation however weak it was.
While chewing Qie Xieling looked around and after some time he pointed at a woman with a high ponytail and tall stature. "Depending on your confidence level you would typically go for her but you normally get shut down. So you go for the sweet innocent type with a kind smile over there."
Bo Ailun, "..."
He looked back and sure enough, he had pursued both those women. The tall one shut him down immediately and the other girl politely said she wasn’t dating right now. "Are you a wizard?" he asked and Luo Muchen figured it was true. But how did Qie Xieling know Bo Ailun’s type?
"What about my type?" he asked messing with Qie Xieling. He didn’t even have a type. He never liked anyone in particular. The only person he had shown interest in was his future wife because she was going to be his wife. If it weren’t for that he would never have noticed her.
Qie Xieling looked at him for a while and Bo Ailun smirked thinking Qie Xieling wouldn’t be able to figure it out. "I am your type," he finally said and Bo Ailun sneered while whispering, 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
"How cocky."
Luo Muchen glanced at Bo Ailun and Bo Ailun shut his mouth. With a look of amusement in his eyes, Luo Muchen asked, "How so?"
Qie Xieling took a sip of his tea taking his sweet precious time to answer. After a while, he said, "Your wife is your type. Whomever you marry is the one you chase. You don’t like to have multiple partners because it is troublesome trying to please multiple people. When your heart is set on one person it remains that way which is a bad thing if you marry someone who has no loyalty. Is that right?"
Bo Ailun, "???"
"So... you think you are my type?" he asked and Qie Xieling suppressed a smile that was threatening to break out across his face. The corners of his lips twitched upwards involuntarily. However, he took a deep breath, willing himself into composure. He cleared his throat before answering, trying not to betray the smile he was suppressing, "Shouldn’t you answer that?... Young Master Luo, am I your type?"
The two of them locked eyes for a moment the tension between them intensified. This delicate atmosphere that made others uncomfortable was ruined by Lee Ya as she came in and sat opposite Qie Xieling while saying, "You are my type," answering a question that wasn’t even for her. "See, I can answer that real quick. He on the other hand can’t."
Luo Muchen wanted her gone but starting a fight in front of everyone wasn’t a good look. He clenched his fist trying to restrain himself. Qie Xieling wasn’t really in the mood. The food was substandard and the company had gotten worse. Lee Ya was just staring at him like he was a juicy tender piece of ribeye steak to accompany her meal.
"I am full. I will go back now," he said and Luo Muchen tried to get up and go with him but Qie Xieling stopped him. "By myself." The group followed his figure until he left through the door.
Jolie looked at Lee Ya and said, "What makes you think you can handle him? He might be your type but his type is over there. Jeez, it is like you enjoy building castles in the air."
Lee Ya, "..."
"There is meat over there. How about you stuff your mouth with something instead of talking nonsense," she said and Jolie was more than happy to. She got up and left. The two half siblings glared at each other for a second or two before Luo Muchen got up and left. He couldn’t leave Qie Xieling alone especially knowing that his father was after him.
Just as he turned the corner heading in the inn’s direction he heard Qie Xieling talking to someone. He could tell that the other person’s voice was that of Bi Yize. He wanted to step in and break them apart but he was curious to see what Qie Xieling would say to him.
Qie Xieling had no idea that Luo Muchen was watching him. He was trying to deal with Bi Yize who had for some reason managed to corner him the moment he left the restaurant. He felt bad for Bi Yize because he was professing his love to a person who wasn’t here anymore. There might have been something between this character and Bi Yize but it had nothing to do with him.
A few minutes ago...
Bi Yize stood before Qie Xieling and took a deep breath, steeling himself. Qie Xieling had always been at the forefront of his thoughts ever since the day he came over to his room in the middle of the night and begged him to take him away far away from this place. Master Bi had told him that he was to be married in place of his daughter and Qie Xieling was scared and in tears.
Luo Muchen’s reputation was known to all. He was the silent type but he was also ruthless to his enemies. His character was afraid that once Luo Muchen found out that he wasn’t the true bride he would be cut down on the spot but who wouldn’t?
