Saving the Heartthrob Frenemy-Chapter 491: Coaxing an angry wife
Luo Muchen had to get rid of this third wheel so he said, "I don’t have any. I got them from Young Miss Zi. I am pretty sure she has more."
Jolie smiled stiffly as she turned to look at Young Miss Zi who was clutching her chest like she was at death’s door. When she met the gaze of the little short person her heart jolted in fright. She almost picked up her skirt and ran. She would be huffing and puffing but she would at least get away in time.
Jolie didn’t waste any time having found someone else to harass. Meanwhile, Luo Muchen was proudly dragging Qie Xieling away seeming so proud of himself. It was like stealing candy from a baby. He was too ecstatic to realise something was wrong with Qie Xieling’s expression. He dragged him along to the campfire where there was food being distributed to everyone before they set off.
Luo Muchen didn’t need to go there. He just pulled Qie Xieling to sit on a log with him under everyone’s curious or loathing stare. Bo Ailun brought them bowls of congee and steamed buns.
With a fierce gaze that sent shivers down Luo Muchen’s spine, he asked, "Was this given to you by her again?" He was deliberately making it difficult for Luo Muchen. When he found out that the cakes that night were from Luo Muchen he was happy because at least he was thinking of him but when he heard that they were from that woman and were meant for Luo Muchen and Luo Muchen accepted them, he couldn’t help but be a little upset.
Luo Muchen in the real world would never accept gifts from people interested in him. The only reason why those love letters ever came close to him was because Qie Xieling was accepting them for his own selfish reasons. But in the game... he was just accepting things from every Tom, Dick and Harry. He had completely forgotten the important point here was that Luo Muchen accepted them to give to him.
Qie Xieling clicked his tongue before looking away. His fiery eyes happened to meet Bo Ailun’s. The man was so terrified his soul almost left his body. Luo Muchen nodded to Bo Ailun letting him know he could leave if he wanted to. He was sparing him from those deadly eyes and taking all the heat instead. "I got them for you," he said but Qie Xieling continued ignoring him his insides becoming as soft as marshmallows.
"I felt bad watching you get hurt like that and brought them to you as compensation," he said trying to coax him. He was so focused on this difficult task that he didn’t notice the group of disciples and armed mercenaries from the Lee family looking at him in shock. They couldn’t believe their eyes.
The man who barely opened his mouth was actually coaxing his wife that he wanted to divorce. It was quite intriguing to watch. "I should be the one upset here. You thought that it was that bastar-... young master Bi who gave them to you... would you have much preferred it if was him who gave it to you," he whispered and the people nearby had to strain their ears to hear.
Qie Xieling didn’t even look at him but he still delivered a blow. "You want to divorce me so why would I think it’s from you? It was obvious that the first person I thought of was him. He is pursuing me after all," said Qie Xieling and Luo Muchen’s eyes darkened the grey cloud hovering above him obvious to all except himself. Who didn’t know that he was jealous?
"If it was from him and he got it from someone else would you be upset?" he asked and Qie Xieling almost exploded. Who cared whether Bi Yize had gotten it from someone else? He could care less.
"No, who cares where he got them from? You are the problem. How can you give me something someone who has feelings for you gave to you? How do you not get it," he said through gritted teeth making it hard for the nosy people to hear.
One girl even went as far as whispering, "Why aren’t they talking louder? I want to hear the drama."
Bo Ailun, "..."
"Trust me. You don’t want to hear what they are talking about," he said before getting up and sitting somewhere else. She wasn’t the only nosy one. One bold disciple from the Zi family sat next to them only for him to be met by Luo Muchen’s deadly glare. His desire to live life in peace made him stand back up and run away as far as possible.
Luo Muchen finally understood Qie Xieling. He was mad because it was him. If it was Bi Yize he wouldn’t care. He felt his heart warm up for some reason and his mood changed drastically but he didn’t even pay attention to himself.
He gently pinched Qie Xieling’s chin and made him look at him. "I was wrong. Don’t be mad at me anymore... wife," he said his voice husky and deep making one’s ear itch. "I won’t do it again... I promise," he continued to say and Qie Xieling was like putty in his hands. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
The corners of his lips couldn’t help but upturn. He pointed at his mouth and said, "I am hungry. Feed me."
Luo Muchen, "..."
He knew that Qie Xieling said they should act like husband and wife but it was becoming a little too real for him.
His emotions were seriously being affected by him and he found himself conceding. Maybe it was because they had slept together that his emotions were taking a very drastic turn.
As a man who still had some shred of dignity left he said, "Don’t you have hands? You should feed yourself."
Qie Xieling didn’t push it he just took the bowl from Luo Muchen’s hand and began to eat some congee with no care at all like he hadn’t just been rejected. Luo Muchen’s eyelashes dropped with a flicker on an unknown emotion in his eyes.
He picked up his steam bun and took a small bite his mind wandering aimlessly. Just as he took another bite, he felt a seething warm touch his lips. His body froze when he saw Qie Xieling’s face inches away from his.
