Saving the Heartthrob Frenemy-Chapter 492: Lin Lin the pretty little doll
Qie Xieling leaned in closer, his face dangerously close to Luo Muchen’s. Startled, Luo Muchen froze, his heart racing in his chest. Qie Xieling’s mischievous gaze met his, and before he could react, Qie Xieling’s lips brushed against his own, sharing the bite of the steamed bun.
Luo Muchen’s body tensed, his thoughts swirling in a whirlwind of confusion. Part of him longed for Qie Xieling to kiss him but he also knew this wasn’t the right time or place. Qie Xieling leaned back, leaving Luo Muchen yearning for more.
He chewed thoughtfully, a playful gleam in his eyes, and finally, with a mischievous grin, he spoke, "It tastes so sweet." The words hung in the air, loaded with unspoken meanings and stolen glances. Qie Xieling licked the corner of his lip slightly and Luo Muchen’s mind couldn’t help but head back to what they did last night.
His face flushed with warmth, his emotions swirling like the currents of the nearby river. He ached to reach out and pull Qie Xieling in for a deep passionate kiss but instead, he forced a smile that looked so stiff, masking the depth of his longing.
The campfire crackled, casting a warm glow on their faces as they sat in silence but the people nearby wer going crazy like dogs before a storm. They couldn’t believe what they had just witnessed.
Not wanting to be a light bulb anymore they went on about their tasks ignoring the pair of lovers who were eager to abuse them single dogs. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
But Lee Ya didn’t seem to see it that way. She came and sat beside Qie Xieling her intentions clear. She was here to stir up trouble. It was as though Trouble was her middle name.
Luo Muchen suddenly pulled Qie Xieling closer to the point that he was almost sitting on his lap. "What do you think I am going to do to him? Eat him," she said and her eyes were so serious like she was really going to eat him if Luo Muchen so much as let down his guard.
"What do you want?" he said and Qie Xieling kept eating like this had nothing to do with him.
Lee Ya rested her hand under her chin and said, "Do you know what father will do when he finds out that you are acting affectionate towards this ger and neglecting... the beautiful Young Miss Zi with a very very important family background?" her lips curled into a sly grin.
Luo Muchen’s lips twitched in anger as he glowered at her. "Wouldn’t that be to your benefit? Then you can be the clan leader," he said through gritted teeth.
"Yes, you are right? Why even bother to warn you?... Oh, now I remember. It’s because I am afraid of what Father would do not to you but to him. He would probably make his body disappear without a trace. Or maybe he will do what he did to concubine Yu and throw him in a snake pit while you watch helplessly on the side... He won’t be able to save you," she continued to say and Qie Xieling felt sick to his stomach. His food no longer tasted good anymore. Unwilling to have his breakfast ruined he got up intending to walk away.
"I will leave you two to it. Excuse me," he said but Lee Ya blocked his path and Luo Muchen pulled him back causing him to accidentally sit on his lap. Qie Xieling apologised as he tried to get up but Luo Muchen wrapped his arm around his waist holding him down.
"Stay," he said and Bo Ailun began shooing everyone away. When they had left she said,
"I have a proposition for you. It’s a deal you can’t resist."
Luo Muchen was in no mood to make deals with her. He was well aware of her untrustworthiness and her malicious nature. "Not interested," he said and Lee Ya chuckled softly.
"Always so rude. I promise this one is worth your time," she said but didn’t wait for Luo Muchen to answer before continuing. "I will personally put it in writing that I will not contend with you for the position of clan leader. I will be your good little side kick and you can even use my family connections to your benefit."
Even Qie Xieling knew that pies didn’t just fall out of the sky especially when Lee Ya was offering them. Luo Muchen still acted disinterested. He knew whatever the price was it would be too high for him to afford it.
Lee Ya could tell what Luo Muchen was thinking so she smiled slightly and said, "It’s simple. I like him... like a lot so how about this. You divorce him and give him to me."
Qie Xieling, "..."
He most definitely shouldn’t be here to hear this. He wasn’t about to watch these two half siblings pimp him out.
"Umm... I really shouldn’t be here for this," he said and Lee Ya was quick to say,
"Shh just sit there and look pretty."
Qie Xieling’s eyes widened. Had he just been objectified by her? He wasn’t some pretty doll just waiting to be dressed up and played with.
"Here," said Luo Muchen. In his hand, he had a steamed bun. Qie Xieling smiled happily and reached over to grab the steamed bun. Luo Muchen was acting like he was offering a diety food as a sacrifice. Before his fingers could touch the steamed bun Luo Muchen took it away and said again, "Here."
Qie Xieling instantly understood but damn, why did he have to want to feed him now in front of his half sister who had just told him that she liked him (Qie Xieling).
Despite all that would Qie Xieling refuse? No, never. He opened his mouth and took a bite before chewing slowly his eyes shaped into crescent moons. "Thank you... husband," he said and Luo Muchen ate the rest of the steamed bun.
"Now that you have my answer go cause trouble elsewhere," he said and Lee Ya’s eyes flickered with sinister emotion.
"Bastard Luo, you know that if you go against me it won’t end well for you," she said the threat in her voice obvious.
Luo Muchen seemed unbothered. He chewed slowly his fingers curled around Qie Xieling’s waist tightening. Common sense told him that he should let this person go. He wasn’t worth all the trouble but he couldn’t bring himself to do so.
