Chapter 490: Love bites

Qie Xieling lifted his head groggily, his eyes still heavy with sleep. As he did so, the blanket slipped down, revealing his entire upper body, marked with a tapestry of passionate love bites.

The servant’s expression transformed from shock to utter disbelief, his face pale as he realised his mistake. Those moans were all from Qie Xieling not from Zi Mixen. But he had received specific instructions to put up this show yet instead of his young miss it was Young Master Luo’s official wife.

Silence engulfed the scene as the onlookers stared, their gazes shifting between Qie Xieling’s exposed form and Luo Muchen’s. Those hickeys looked painful. They no longer looked at Luo Muchen as the beast who took advantage of unmarried women but as a beast who devoured his wife in bed till there was nothing left.

A wave of jealousy washed over him at the thought of others feasting their eyes upon Qie Xieling’s enticing display. Acting swiftly, he moved to cover Qie Xieling’s exposed body, shielding him from prying eyes and their unwanted attention.

Luo Muchen’s protective gesture sent a clear message, one that echoed with possessiveness. "Leave us," he commanded and the servant kowtowed his head hitting the ground several times.

"I was mistaken. It seems I misunderstood the situation. Please forgive me. I I... I have caused unnecessary chaos. I am deeply sorry for my false accusation, Young Master Luo. Please please forgive my rash judgment."

The young disciple quickly apologised. "We apologize for this unfortunate incident, Young Master Luo. Please understand that we were only acting out of concern for our young miss’s well-being."

"I said leave," repeated Luo Muchen having noticed the young disciple glancing at Qie Xieling.

"Grab him and let’s go. We will hand him over to Young Master Luo for his punishment," he said his voice tinged with anger not because of his servant but because of what he saw. Qie Xieling might be a ger but why treat him like this when he was just as delicate as a woman?

Qie Xieling had no idea that his battle scars were deemed as him being abused by Luo Muchen. He turned to Luo Muchen acting all pitiful.

"Husband, I am cold," he said and Luo Muchen’s heart instantly softened.

He pulled his coat over Qie Xieling as Bo Ailun closed the curtain that the servant had opened. Meanwhile, Lee Ya was frozen stiff on the spot her anger simmering beneath the surface. She couldn’t fathom how Qie Xieling ended up here and why was there relationship currently like that.

She honestly thought he slept with Zi Mixen but who would have thought he was blowing Qie Xieling’s back out instead? She was about to intrude on their privacy and ask him what exactly he was doing when he saw the star of the show appear but she seemed to have missed her cue to come on stage.

Her frail and weak body stumbled a few times as she rushed over. The servants tried to help her but she shook their hands off and continued towards the carriage. Lee Ya remained standing where she was ready to watch this show. She knew her half brother had great ambitions and would do anything to appease Young Miss Zi so she smirked waiting for Qie Xieling to storm off crying. Once that happens she would take full advantage.

"Chen-ge *cough *cough Chen-ge," she called out her voice brittle and she almost choked on her tears. "Chen-ge... I heard what happened. Please speak to me," she said clutching her chest like she was heartbroken.

"He is busy," replied Qie Xieling from inside the tent while Luo Muchen helped him put on his clothes. Yes, Qie Xieling had learnt a few things from Zi Mixen. Act pitiful and you will get sympathy, especially after a night of activities. He had managed to get Luo Muchen to put on his clothes for him.

Hearing this Zi Mixen’s heart shattered to pieces. She knelt down and the maidservants exclaimed trying to help her up.

"Young Miss!" they cried out and Qie Xieling peeked through the curtain to see the drama but he was pulled back and Luo Muchen said, "Don’t move," his husky voice tyrannical with a trace of annoyance.

Qie Xieling let out a soft, "Oh," before obediently standing there looking at Luo Muchen’s lips. It was odd being the short one of the two. He couldn’t wait to get his height back.

Qie Xieling grabbed both sides of Luo Muchen’s waist and pulled him close while Luo Muchen fixed his lapel.

"Uh-uh don’t make trouble," he said and Qie Xieling kissed his lips instead. Luo Muchen was taken aback. All it took was one night for Qie Xieling to take liberties with him and deep down he didn’t hate it.

"Oh, what is happening here? What performance is she acting? Which scene?" said Jolie her voice coming from the outside. Qie Xieling’s eyes shone like gems and he hurriedly left the carriage leaving Luo Muchen standing there with a dumbfounded look on his face. What kind of wife was this?

He just heard the sound of his maidservant’s voice and just like that Qie Xieling was gone leaving him behind.

Qie Xieling jumped out of the carriage and said, "It’s the tale of the green tea bitch," causing Zi Mixen to clench her fist in anger.

Her head lowered she squeezed her eyes forcing tears out till they were swollen. She even went as far as biting her lip till it was bright red.

"Ah make sense. I was wondering why a frail weak thing like her was kneeling in the biting chill of the morning in front of a married man’s carriage. How fascinating," replied Jolie and Qie Xieling laughed out loud while Zi Mixen’s maidservants valiantly defended their young miss.

When Luo Muchen exited the carriage Zi Mixen suddenly fell over appearing like she was about to faint. This time Qie Xieling didn’t reach over to help her nor did he care to stop Luo Muchen.

He just gave him the look that if you dare help her there will be no more extra curriculum activities for you. You will be a monk for a lifetime. As though he understood that glare Luo Muchen didn’t help her. Because her maidservants expected Luo Muchen to help her as the young miss always told them not to assist her when Luo Muchen was around they watched in horror as she fell to the ground.

"Sister-in-law," called out Lee Ya sending shivers down Qie Xieling’s spine. He had deliberately ignored her but who would have thought she would beckon him over calling sister in law coquettishly like they were close.

"I am glad you took my half brother back considering that he would replace you soon," she said her eyes turning dark when she saw the hickeys on his neck. She glared at Luo Muchen who glared back at her. You would swear they were lions fighting for one lioness.

"... He is my husband until he divorces me, right hus...band," replied Qie Xieling emphasising the word husband like it was a badge of honour.

His words stabbed at Luo Muchen’s heart but he didn’t say anything. He wanted to grab Qie Xieling’s hand, take him away from all these people and keep him to himself.

"Let’s go and find Young Master Bi. He must have some more of those osmanthus cakes," said Jolie trying to see who truly had that stash. Last night she interrogated and intimidated a lot of servants to get that stash but they all claim they didn’t know.

Luo Muchen’s brows furrowed. Why would Bi Yize have that? He gave those to Qie Xieling so why would his maidservant think that they were from Bi Yize? Did Qie Xieling think that as well? All these questions played in his mind as he watched the two of them leave. He suddenly felt a great sense of panic. He grabbed Qie Xieling’s wrist and pulled him away.

Qie Xieling, "..."

"Don’t run around. Have breakfast with me and we will leave soon."

Jolie smiled happily before saying, "So you are the one who gave him osmanthus cakes. Alright hand them over. It’s a toll fee. If you want him you have to pay me first," pulling Qie Xieling away.

Luo Muchen, "..."

Why was she behaving more like a sibling or parent towards Qie Xieling? He was seriously starting to question their relationship. Meanwhile, Zi Mixen felt like she had been pierced by a thousand needles. The cakes she gave to Luo Muchen were given to Qie Xieling in the end. How could she not be angered by this? She was starting to realise she had underestimated Qie Xieling’s worth in Luo Muchen’s eyes. Their marriage was a ploy by others yet his feelings for Qie Xieling weren’t so simple. She now knew that when she married Luo Muchen they wouldn’t be able to coexist. One of them would have to give up but she didn’t plan on letting Luo Muchen go.
