Chapter 482: Divorce agreement

They kissed with an intensity that left them both gasping for air. The ripples in the water and the steam that floated around them concealed their entwined figures, adding to the feeling of intimacy between them.

Luo Muchen felt Qie Xieling’s anger and resentment but he also sensed something else, something he had felt before but couldn’t quite put his finger on it. He grabbed Qie Xieling’s waist, feeling the water droplets on his muscles, wanting him more than ever but too afraid to say it out loud.

The passion between them was so intense that it would make onlookers blush. But just as their connection ignited, a distant voice called out Qie Xieling’s name, shattering the moment. Pushing Luo Muchen away, Qie Xieling’s expression hardened, and without a word, he walked out of the spring, leaving Luo Muchen behind.

As the hot spring’s tranquillity returned, Luo Muchen stood alone his clothes drenched and clinging to his body, his heart heavy with the weight of his actions. He knew deep down that he had made a terrible decision letting him slip away, and now, he was left to ponder the consequences of his choices.

The warmth from the passionate kiss he had shared with Qie Xieling still lingered on his lips, sending a shiver down his spine. As he glanced toward the banks of the hot spring, he noticed Qie Xieling putting on his clothes, the fabric covering his smooth, toned back.

A surge of conflicting emotions washed over him. He wanted Qie Xieling to go with him, to travel with him but he didn’t think he would agree. He was about to call him but before he could utter a word, Bi Yize emerged from the forest with a deep furrow of worry etched on his face. With Lee Ya destroying the campsite looking for Qie Xieling. He was truly concerned.

Without hesitation, he approached Qie Xieling, gently placing his hands on Qie Xieling’s shoulders checking for injuries from top to bottom.

This sight ignited a sudden possessiveness within Luo Muchen, his heart pounding in his chest. He couldn’t bear seeing Qie Xieling being touched by someone else.

He emerged from the hot spring, water cascading down his body, and swiftly approached the duo. In a firm grip, he grasped Bi Yize’s wrist, causing a wince to escape from his lips. With jealousy brimming in his eyes he uttered in a low, commanding voice, "Don’t touch him."

Bi Yize’s worried expression transformed into a blend of surprise and confusion, unsure of Luo Muchen’s sudden protectiveness over Qie Xieling. They weren’t married for that long and of course, it had all fallen apart which was why Qie Xieling was running around without Luo Muchen.

"Why shouldn’t I?" said Bi Yize while taking his hand back.

"He is my wife," said Luo Muchen and Qie Xieling grabbed his clothes before yelling,

"Ex-wife. Leave me alone." He stormed away seething in anger. Who did Luo Muchen think he was? He was busy looking for a new wife yet had the balls to call him his wife just now.

Luo Muchen followed after him but Bi Yize blocked his path refusing for him to pass. "Young master Luo, you shouldn’t embarrass yourself... He has already made his stance clear. He doesn’t want to talk to you," he said and Luo Muchen pushed him away before catching up with him. He grabbed Qie Xieling’s arm and dragged him far away before cornering him against the towering tree, his palms pressed firmly against the rough bark. The air crackled with tension, a maelstrom of unresolved emotions swirling between them.

Qie Xieling was a little startled. He didn’t think Luo Muchen would be this aggressive.

"If you aren’t then why did you kiss me back?" asked Luo Muchen but he wasn’t really looking for an answer from Qie Xieling. He just wanted Bi Yize to know that he stood no chance. This was still his wife and from what happened just now Qie Xieling still wanted to be his wife. With this knowledge in his mind, he couldn’t let Qie Xieling go.

"Shameless," replied Qie Xieling shaking his hand off.

"Qie Xieling," Luo Muchen pleaded, his voice barely audible, a gentle whisper riding on the wind. "Come with me."

Qie Xieling’s eyes flickered with a mixture of longing and apprehension, his body tense and ready to flee. He tried to push him away, but his resistance faltered against Luo Muchen’s unwavering determination. "Leave me alone," he spat, his voice laced with a potent blend of pain and frustration. "Unless you want to sign an agreement to end our marriage I won’t come with you."

Luo Muchen’s grip on the tree tightened, his fingers digging into the rough bark. He knew that this could be his last chance to salvage this. He placed his hand on Qie Xieling’s cheek and caressed his skin with a pleading look in his eyes. "If that’s what you want then yes... I will sign it just come with me."

Qie Xieling, "..."

’This asshole,’ he said to himself before freeing himself from Luo Muchen’s grasp. Luo Muchen was confused. He said that to get him to come with him but Qie Xieling stormed off in anger without even looking back.

"Just get over it. He doesn’t want anything to do with you," said Bi Yize with a smirk on his face before walking away but soon he would eat his words.

When he got back to the camp Qie Xieling was gone. The carriage was empty and he was even kind enough to leave a note thanking him for taking him along. Bi Yize would be lying if he said he wasn’t upset. Luo Muchen had tossed Qie Xieling aside once he found out his true identity yet here he was drawing him in with a divorce agreement. Bi Yize sat down with a sigh appearing defeated.

Meanwhile, Qie Xieling slipped into Luo Muchen’s carriage intending to wait for him but what he found inside left him utterly bewildered.

In the dim lamplight, a sickly Zi Mixen sat huddled, her frail form wrapped in Luo Muchen’s coat. Her face was pale, with the light casting an eerie glow upon her delicate features.
