Chapter 453: Bridal chamber rituals

Qie Xieling raised the cup to his lips and he was about to drink it when Luo Muchen blew out the closest candle to them. He knew exactly what he was doing. He was trying to make him comfortable. ’Ah, such. A gentleman,’ he said to himself. If he only knew how much of a rogue his man was he would have taken his words back.

Luo Muchen lightly grabbed her wrist before she could drink it and whispered, "Wait," before crossing their arms together. Qie Xieling had no idea what the hell was going on and who could blame him. He had only been to one wedding but he was too young to remember much.

"Now you can drink... wife," he said his voice deep and charming. Ah, Qie Xieling could feel his womb, if he had one, spinning around in circles begging to be impregnated. He averted his gaze his cheeks flushed. This was too much for his vulnerable heart to handle.

Qie Xieling raised the cup to his lips. He felt a little uncomfortable with the way their arms were crossed together but he didn’t mind it. What he was worried about though was his veil lifting when he drank and showed his true face.

Luo Muchen seemed to notice her discomfort so he said, "I won’t look, I promise." Qie Xieling bit his lower lip trying to restrain himself. How wasn’t Luo Muchen asking to be jumped right now? The amount of seduction oozing from his body was so intense it was like an aphrodisiac.

He smiled slightly and touched the rim of the cup on his lips. The two of them drank it simultaneously. Luo Muchen had promised not to look at her but the bright red lips touching that gold cup was a sight he couldn’t resist.

"Now will be together forever," he said to his bride as their arms separated. Qie Xieling pressed his lips into a thin line with pink bubbles floating in his mind. He felt giddy and an inexplicable warmth at the pit of his stomach. For a while, he was stuck in his own little world completely unaware of what Luo Muchen was doing.

Luo Muchen on the other hand had a dagger in his hand. His hand reached over to his bride’s nape and when Qie Xieling turned around to look at him he was a little startled.

"What... what’s that for?" he asked thinking that he had already discovered his secret and was about to stab him to death.

Luo Muchen smiled slightly before saying, "Don’t move... stay still." His fingertips rubbed the back of his bride’s hair as though to comfort her before separating a lock of her hair and cutting it. His heart which had been cold since the day his grandfather died finally felt warm again. He now had his own family. A wife who would never leave him. Someone he didn’t have to have his guard up around. It would be great if she would never betray him. They were family now.

Qie Xieling looked at his poor hair that had been cut and couldn’t help but exclaim. "You... you! Why would you do that to my beautiful hair," said Qie Xieling. He was complaining but in Luo Muchen’s ears, his bride’s voice sounded coquettish strumming the heartstrings of his heart.

"Would you like to cut mine?" Luo Muchen asked but he could feel his bride glaring at him from underneath that veil. It was as though she was saying if you give me that dagger you will be bald at the back of your head.

Luo Muchen chuckled lightly before cutting his own lock of hair. Qie Xieling watched him tie up the two locks of hair and put it in a red and gold drawstring pouch.

Qie Xieling asked, "What’s that for?"

Luo Muchen patiently answered, "It signifies us tying the knot and becoming one in flesh and blood... to live happily ever after." Qie Xieling’s heart fluttered in his chest as he looked at Luo Muchen through the veil.

Luo Muchen smiled slightly as he got up and brought over the plate of dumplings by the window. Qie Xieling’s gaze followed him as he walked across the room. He didn’t know if it was the wine but he felt incredibly thirsty. He tugged at the collar of his dress before he swallowed his saliva. His legs subconsciously parted slightly which was very unladylike.

When Luo Muchen turned around and met his gaze Qie Xieling felt like he had been electrocuted. Those eyes almost sucked the life out of his body. He felt some wetness coming from his lower half like he had sat in a puddle of water. Like a beast in heat, he watched Luo Muchen walk towards him. Qie Xieling finally realised that he was wrong. It wasn’t him who should have been worried that Luo Muchen wouldn’t let him go tonight but Luo Muchen who should have been afraid.

Luo Muchen didn’t notice his bride was already agitated from the aphrodisiac. He brought over the plate of dumplings and sat beside his bride.

He brought one towards her lips and Qie Xieling stared at him hesitantly for a while before parting his lips. Since he was quite hungry he felt touched. His husband was very considerate he thought but soon his brows furrowed.

Luo Muchen licked his lower lip lightly before asking, "Raw?"

Qie Xieling, "..."

"If you know then why are you asking?" he replied as he reluctantly swallowed but his voice was sultry and captivating, with a hint of breathiness. It sounded lower in pitch, filled with passion and desire, and carried a seductive tone that enticed and captivated Luo Muchen so much so that he couldn’t think straight for a moment.

Qie Xieling finally figured it out. The character for the word raw had two meanings and the other meaning was ’to give birth’.

Qie Xieling, ’...’

He wanted to call Luo Muchen a pervert but given their non-existent relationship, he held his tongue. He licked his lips while tugging at his collar trying to cool himself down. It felt hot all of a sudden.

Luo Muchen set the plate of dumplings down before saying, "Shall we go to sleep."

Qie Xieling nodded his head and Luo Muchen pulled down the silk curtains hanging on the side of the canopy bed partially concealing them from the outside world.
