Saving the Heartthrob Frenemy-Chapter 442: Bridal sedan
While Qie Xieling was in a panic things were equally as chaotic in Leong Jinn’s lair. Wen Qinxi who had his eyes fixed on the interface, felt the weight of responsibility pressing upon him. He had spent countless hours coding and debugging the virtual game, ensuring that when the game transitioned in between worlds he could seamlessly disconnect them without bringing them harm.
There had been a safe way to disconnect them from the game but whatever Leong Jinn did before he escaped made that impossible and Wen Qinxi could only use this method. But who would have thought that plan would fail miserably?
He was pretty confident as the countdown ticked away, signalling the imminent transition into the next world. But just as the countdown reached its final seconds, the world on the screen abruptly glitched and shattered. The serene landscape melted away, replaced by a chaotic void of swirling colours and distorted shapes. From the accelerated beeping of the gaming capsule housing Qie Xieling, he could tell his son was in distress. He ran a diagnostic test and as he read the results his heart sank at the unexpected events unfolding before his eyes.
Luo Shih, her voice trembling with fear and desperation, directed his gaze toward Wen Qinxi. "What happened?" She implored, anguish etched on her face. They all hadn’t anticipated the situation would take a dire turn.
Qie Xieling’s hands trembled as he tried to regain control of the system and prevent it from proceeding to the next world. "I am not sure. Give me a minute," he said but after trying everything he could, the last world of the game had already begun and there was no turning back.
"It didn’t work?" asked Qie Ranzhe after seeing the defeated look on his face.
"One of them doesn’t want to leave the game," he explained, his voice heavy with regret. "According to the program, this is supposed to be the last world. We can only let it run its course."
Qie Ranzhe ruffled his hair in frustration. He hadn’t slept trying to look for that weasel in the forest. He almost witnessed his son get married and had hoped that they would be able to get out before that happened but who would have thought the game would only continue.
With a big sigh, he picked up his gear while saying, "I will go and continue hunting for that bastard. The second search party has just started their shift." Wen Qinxi nodded his head only for Qie Ranzhe to ruffle his hair on the way out.
Wen Qinxi, "..."
After he left Luo Shih moved her chair closer before asking, "Does he not like my son?"
Wen Qinxi, "..."
Hearing this Machu couldn’t help but reply for him. "Because they are the same person. They are bound to clash," he said and the pair of eyes looked at him before he asked, "What? Did I say something wrong? I mean he saw that Muchen had feelings for Lin Lin long before any of us. From the day they fought he was already suspicious."

While Machu was trying to enlight them all on why father in laws rarely gets along with their son in laws, Qie Xieling found himself in a strange situation. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
His eyes fluttered open, and he found himself being jostled from side to side in a bridal sedan. Blinking away the remnants of darkness in his eyes, he took in his surroundings. His gaze fell upon the vibrant red wedding gown that adorned his body, adorned with intricate gold embroidery. It was a traditional wedding dress, beautiful and ornate. A delicate veil obscured his face, adding an air of mystery to his bewildered expression.
Confusion flickered within him but he was far from being afraid. With a hint of curiosity, he reached out and pulled the curtain aside, revealing the outside world. A rush of cold air greeted him as he peered through the opening. To his surprise, he found himself surrounded by a dense forest, its ancient trees towering above, their branches swaying in the wind.
As the bridal sedan continued its tumultuous journey, Qie Xieling’s eyes met the gaze of one of the soldiers riding alongside. When he saw it was Bo Ailun clad in armour his eyes sparkled with joy. However, Bo Ailun’s expression showed that he wouldn’t be as happy to see him. Before Qie Xieling could react, Bo Ailun wordlessly pulled the curtain closed.
Sighing softly, Qie Xieling settled back into the plush interior of the bridal sedan. The rhythmic sway of the vehicle mirrored the turmoil of his emotions. So he was about to be someone’s wife and from the looks of it, it wasn’t a happy marriage either.
’Jolie... do you want to help me out?’ he asked but he was holding his breath because the last time he entered a new world he struggled by himself for a while and had not much information. Just when he thought he would be all alone Jolie finally responded.
’Oh hey, no need to panic. Your dad has your back and he told me to tell you not to worry,’ said Jolie and Qie Xieling’s eyes lit up like a Christmas tree.
’Dad? Can I speak to him,’ he asked. He really missed both his parents and wanted to curl up in their arms and just wail like he had been wronged. It sounded childish to most but he couldn’t help it. He wanted to snitch on everyone who wronged him.
’Let me check?’ said Jolie and she left for a while before coming back.
’He is trying to fix it but whatever Leong Jinn did screwed with the program so... he asked if you are okay.’
Qie Xieling bit his lip trying to stop himself from crying before saying, ’Tell him I am okay and that I love the both of them.’ Qie Xieling was obviously not okay but he didn’t want his dad to worry. His dad was already struggling to get them out and he didn’t want him to be stressed further.
’Okay, I will pass on the message. Oh and um you will get the storyline just now. Since that evil goblin is gone you won’t go in blind.’
