Saving the Heartthrob Frenemy-Chapter 438: He will abandon you

Luo Shih turned to Wen Qinxi and asked, "Your son... has he dated before?"

Wen Qinxi lightly scratched his chin while staring at the display. "To my knowledge no. He didn’t," he said and Luo Shih’s brow creased.

"Oh," she replied but closed the game screen and rolled her swivel chair moving closer.

"So you are sure he wasn’t dating anyone?" she asked again.

Wen Qinxi, "..."

"Does it really matter?" he asked again and Luo Shih leaned in close before saying,

"I am just curious. My son has had a crush on your son since he was a tiny thing. I only found out later but even I could tell that he liked Lin Lin. I just can’t figure out why they couldn’t get together sooner, you know. One thing is for sure, my son is a coward just like me so... yep. It’s good to be self-aware, isn’t it?"

Wen Qinxi looked at her for a moment before saying, "And my son is incredibly dense just like me so it didn’t help the situation."

Luo Shih laughed out loud. She couldn’t help but find it very amusing. Her laugh was so infectious that he also chuckled softly.

"So... you are okay with them being together?" he asked and Luo Shih nodded her head.

"It’s his life, not mine. I haven’t been a good example to him so what right do I have to tell him who to love?... I loved a man once and it turns out he had another woman pregnant at the same time as me and even married her so... he should do whatever makes him happy," she said seeming quite happy for her son.

"What about kids? Don’t you want grandkids?" he asked, assuming that Luo Shih didn’t know where Qie Xieling came from. The technology was underground and no one knew about it yet even now.

Luo Shih had heard the rumour about this technology but she understood why Wen Qinxi wouldn’t talk about it but she didn’t care for grandkids. If she has one then it’s a blessing but if she didn’t it wasn’t the end of the world.

"I don’t care about that. My son only has one life. I didn’t give birth to him to fulfil my wishes. To me, all that matters is that he is happy and if he wants to be childfree that’s okay," she said before resting her head on her clenched fist.

"What I want to know is if you will be my friend. I would ask if you would be my bestie but that would be too forward."

Wen Qinxi was gobsmacked. He didn’t think she would ask to be friends. Ever since he found out about her son liking his son he had done some secret digging..., you know, as a responsible parent. She was intimidating from the start. She had been in the military and she had a mafia boyfriend. Well, not exactly her boyfriend but he was so dedicated that one would think they were married for years.

"But we don’t like the same things?" said Wen Qinxi and Luo Shih had already prepared a comeback.

"Yes, but we like the same people. We both love our sons. That’s enough for us to be friends," she said and Wen Qinxi took some time to think about it before saying,

"Okay."

Luo Shih smiled happily. It was really good to have a friend who would never betray you. Better yet their sons were in love.

The door suddenly pushed open behind them and Machu ran in huffing and puffing. His hands resting on his bent knees he asked, "Did you know there was a... a... bob-bob ugh... a bobcat outside?"

"Yes, and we named him Larry," replied Luo Shih while spinning her chair.

Machu collapsed on the ground breathing heavily. He was here to make sure the kids will be okay but none of these idiots warned him about a bloody bobcat. He felt like crying. That thing almost but him.

Meanwhile, Airen was laughing while piloting the helicopter after dropping off Machu. She saw him running away from the cutest little thing ever. It wasn’t even an adult bobcat but a baby yet he ran away like his life depended on it. It was incredibly funny.

Qie Xieling had no idea that his dad had already made friends with Luo Muchen’s mum. He had received a weird message from Luo Muchen. He said that he had matters to attend to and wanted to meet up with him at the end of the day for dinner.

Qie Xieling knew he was extremely busy so he didn’t ask. He just sent him a smiling emoji before looking for something to keep him entertained for now.

Qie Xieling decided to go shopping for fun but when he stepped outside he was might by an unexpected scene. There were big men slightly taller than him carrying packages into a van hovering at the entrance. He was curious as to who was moving out but before he could ask he heard a familiar voice speak behind him.

"Are you happy? You even came to see me get kicked out of the palace and get married off?" asked Lee Ya and Qie Xieling who had no idea what was happening with her was surprised.

"Are you here to gloat?... What did I ever do to you except love you," she continued to say and Qie Xieling didn’t even bother to listen to her. She was already gearing up to play the victim when she was the one who chose the wrong side.

He turned to the hovercar waiting for him only to hear her say, "What are you going to do when he wants an heir? He will abandon you eventually so why not spare yourself the pain?"

Qie Xieling’s steps paused and he sighed heavily before turning to look at her. "You don’t have to worry about me. You should worry more about yourself," he said before walking away. He entered the hovercar and sat down. Bo Ailun sat opposite him his face etched with worry. He didn’t want to say anything but seeing that his boss’s plans might be ruined he said, 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶

"Don’t listen to her. She was just trying to get into your head."
