Chapter 419: Future husband

AN: Happy Diwali to all who celebrate.

Luo Muchen lay unconscious inside the sleek health pod, his body bathed in a soft blue glow. The Zeden Coalition warship’s medical team diligently monitored his vital signs. Their hands moved swiftly, adjusting monitors and administering treatments.

General Bi, clad in her military uniform, stood silently in the shadows, her eyes fixed on Luo Muchen’s motionless form. A complex interplay of emotions danced across her face — longing, determination, and a flicker of sadness. She had loved Crown Prince Luo for years, despite the fact that he never looked her way. He was always serious and never gave anyone false hope. Her first love ended before it even began but now, as their impending marriage loomed closer, a glimmer of hope ignited within her.

As the doctors concluded their examination, they exchanged satisfied glances. One of them stepped forward, his voice gentle yet authoritative. "General Bi, everything looks promising. His Royal Highness is doing fine. He will maintain this condition until we reach Capital Star."

A surge of relief washed over General Bi as she nodded "Thank you. You may leave us now."

The medical team departed, leaving General Bi alone with Luo Muchen. She stepped out of the shadows, her footsteps echoing softly in the dimly lit medical bay. Approaching the health pod, she reached out and gently clasped Luo Muchen’s hand in hers, feeling the warmth and fragility of his touch.

Tears welled up in her eyes as she whispered, her voice filled with a mix of love and determination, "Muchen, my prince, soon you will wake up, and we will be bound by the vows of marriage. I know your heart lies elsewhere, but I will make you see the love I have for you. No matter what it takes, I will make you love me."

Bi Yu’s gaze lingered on Luo Muchen’s peaceful face, her mind filled with plans and strategies. She knew the road ahead would be challenging, but her love for him fueled her unwavering resolve. With newfound determination, she vowed to win his heart, even if it meant facing unforeseen obstacles.

"You do realise that he slept with Qie Xieling, right?" said Lee Ya walking in on Bi Yu holding Luo Muchen’s hand acting like a widow.

Bi Yu turned to look at her with resentment in her. "I don’t care about who he was with in the past," she said before wiping away her tears, "He is going to be my husband now. That’s all that matters."

Lee Ya sneered as she took a sip of the white wine she had found somewhere on the warship. She knew there would be no chance for that because when they reached Capital Star it would be too late to save Luo Muchen. She would be the new queen and she would rule all of Zeden. With a sly smile, she turned to leave with no remorse.

As the massive Zeden Coalition warship gracefully glided into the docking bay of the Capital Star Military Base, its sleek metallic hull gleamed under the bright lights. A sense of anticipation filled the air as soldiers lined up in perfect formation, standing at attention, awaiting their prince’s arrival.

At the end of the passageway, the aged King father sat in his wheelchair, his stern gaze fixed on the warship’s entrance. His weathered face carried the weight of years, and his piercing eyes revealed a mix of excitement and concern.

The ramp of the warship descended and Lee Ya’s regal figure adorned in a dignified yet somber gown emerged. Beside her was General Bi spotting a stern expression.

Lee Ya’s steps were graceful yet filled with purpose as she disembarked the warship. She dropped to her knees before her father and said, "Long live the king father... Your daughter has fulfilled her duties and brought back the prodigal son." An awkward silence filled the air and the king didn’t even spare her a glance. The old man’s attention remained locked on the healing pod situated nearby, containing his son, Crown Prince Luo.

Ignoring his daughter’s presence for the moment, the King father’s eyes were fixed on the prone figure within the pod. Tubes and monitors surrounded Prince Luo, his face serene despite the fate that awaited him.

Finally tearing his gaze away, the King father spoke with a voice that carried both authority and weariness. "Bring Prince Luo directly to the palace," he commanded, his tone leaving no room for discussion. The soldiers, recognizing the gravity of the situation, swiftly moved to carry out their orders.

As the King father turned his wheelchair to leave Lee Ya’s clenched fist betrayed her inner turmoil. She had hoped for a moment of connection, a sign that her father acknowledged her even for a little bit. But his worry for her half-brother overshadowed any recognition she sought. Silently, she rose to her feet, her eyes filled with a mixture of determination and frustration. She regained her composure.

The scene spoke volumes of the complex dynamics within the royal family that no one dared to gossip about. She followed after her half-brother’s healing pod just watching for any movement. She was even contemplating adding on to the dose to make sure that he didn’t wake up. When they reached the spacecraft the king’s guard blocked her path and she looked at her father.

"Father... I want to go with you," she said her voice brittle like she was really concerned but the king ignored her as the doors of the spacecraft closed.

"Your Highness, please get into the next spacecraft," said one of the men and Lee Ya was forced to restrain herself. She smiled slightly and said, "Sure," before turning to leave.

When she entered the next spacecraft she found Bi Yu sitting there with a haughty aura surrounding her. Lee Ya chuckled softly before saying, "Aren’t you accompanying your future husband?" Bi Yu averted her gaze her expression filled with annoyance.

Lee Ya didn’t push it. She just watched her with great curiosity. She couldn’t wait to see her face when she found out that Luo Muchen was dead.
