Saintess? Not Anymore! I'd Rather be a Destroyer-Chapter 96 - 83: No one messes with my food 3
The princess’s piercing words sliced through the air like a cold wind, striking Era with a force she had never experienced before. She recoiled, trembling, as Aurianna’s wrath continued to build.
"Do you truly believe that my mother would have chosen you to be my head maid if you were so called poor?" Aurianna spat, "My mother would never stop so low to hire a poor person to work for royalty. That sly mouth of yours is starting to piss me off."
Era’s heart raced with fear and desperation as she pleaded. "Please, princess," she begged, her voice barely above a whisper. "I had no choice but to follow my father’s commands. My family was in dire straits, and we needed the money to survive. And I had no other choice. To take some money..."
"Which you stole from me.." Aurianna continued as she got off her seat. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚
"Hey, do I look like a give a living fuck about what goes on with your miserable family and their pitiful struggles?" Aurianna sneered, her heels clicking ominously as she advanced on Era.
"Because I don’t give a damn if your family is poor and if you’re suffering it’s not my concern, neither does it affect my life," Aurianna continued, her voice icy and apathetic, "However, you, stealing my money and serving me such filth to eat? That is a sin that cannot be forgiven."
Aurianna said in an eerie tone as she grabbed Era’s face and squeezed it.
"Princess, please spare this one’s life!" Era yelled, her pupils trembling. ’How dare this princess act so selfish?!’ Era thought.
"Bye bye," With a childish giggle, Aurianna reached out with her bare hands and crushed Era’s skull, relishing in the sickening sound of bones and blood splattering against her fine clothing.
The other servants recoiled in horror, unable to bear witness to the princess’s ruthless brutality. Their fear was palpable, their bodies trembling as they struggled to remain unnoticed.
"Yui," Aurianna called, her voice sickeningly sweet. Yui approached, her eyes downcast and her heart slightly heavy with dread.
"Yes, Your Highness," Yui chirped, her voice slightly betraying the little fear that coursed through her veins.
Aurianna’s twisted delight in her own sadism was palpable, as she gave Yui her next orders with a wicked grin. "See to it that her remains are properly packaged in a box. I have a little surprise I would like to do."
Yui immediately nodded and scurried away to carry out her mistress’s commands, Aurianna turned her attention to the remaining servants, her eyes glinting mischievously.
"Now then...," she spat, gesturing towards the quivering group before her. "For the rest of you wretches who watched her do this without speaking a word and smiling would die here today!" Aurianna declared as a she Aurianna summoned forth a group of deadly firearms that was pointed at the causing them to fall to their knees in terror.
"Princess please forgive us!" They knelt down and cried.
"Please have some mercy!" A male servant pleaded.
The pitiful pleas of the servants did little to move Aurianna’s heart. She had no use for forgiveness or mercy, not when they had all been complicit in her humiliation at the hands of that wretched Era.
"Why should I?" Aurianna asked coldly, "You all stood by and watched, not only that but snickered, when she messed with my food, giving me that wretched soup." She recalled as veins popped up on her forehead.
"Princess please, we’re sorry!" A male servant begged as he slammed his head on the floor, even went so far as to prostrate himself before her, begging for forgiveness with tears streaming down his face.
Aurianna’s eyes glinted with malice as she slowly raised her hand, and the guns began to vibrate, ready to unleash their deadly hail of bullets. The servants cowered in fear, their eyes wide with terror as they realized that their pleas for mercy had fallen on deaf ears.
"I don’t believe in mercy, only loyal dogs who wouldn’t dare bite their master. And I’ll kill all the unloyal ones today!" Aurianna said in a cold tone, and everyone trembled.
"You filths, sometimes forget your place and who’s your true master. So, what if my mother hired you, as long as you’re in my palace you’re under my control and your petty lives are in the palms of my hands," Aurianna grinned.
"Princess all this time we’ve served you faithfully, so please can’t you show us some mercy? We’ve been close for a long time, so please don’t you value us a bit?" A maid asked as she looked at Aurianna, her hands trembling as she gnashed her teeth.
"Pathetic," Aurianna sneered, her voice dripping with disdain. "You are nothing but a worm, unworthy to serve at my feet." She turned to the other servants, her eyes scanning the room for any signs of rebellion. "However you were provided the opportunity to serve me, yet you dare to show defiance and mock me? That’s unacceptable."
"Well if you were kind and treated us like people, no one would behave this way!!" The same maid yelled, and Aurianna’s eyes turned more cold. "Sometimes you should think about how we feel!!"
"Treat you like people?! Care about how you feel? Chi, chi, lalalala!!" Aurianna laughed as she walked closer to the maid.
"I don’t give a damn about how you feel bitch! I don’t force you bastards to work here. You people came here of your own volition because of the reward people get paid over here. You heard the rumors, yet you still chose to come. As long as you did your work, I will reward you. I don’t treat you guys as slaves, I just kill the bunch who think they can do whatever they want in my castle. What’s more, I don’t tolerate servants who talk back to their master with such disrespect," Aurianna said in an eerie tone and a loud gun shot could be heard.
A gaping wound passed through the maid’s chest, her anguished cries echoing through the stillness before she crumpled lifelessly to the ground.
The other servants stood frozen, a palpable sense of dread and fear hanging heavy in the air. The sight of their fallen comrade served as a stark reminder that they too were in peril, knowing that they could be next.
"As long as you do your work properly, I will reward you," Aurianna said in a menacing tone. "But if you dare to question my authority or speak out of turn, you will meet the same fate as these two foolish maids." Aurianna stepped closer to the lifeless body and kicked it. "She forgot her place and paid the ultimate price."
Aurianna stood tall, her eyes filled with a calm glint as she turned her back to the cowering group of servants. The guns that had been aimed at them vanished into thin air as she strode purposefully towards the door.
"Let this be a lesson to all of you," she said in a low tone, "None of you should dare try this crap ever again, or else you’ll end up like both of them."
"Yes, princess," one servant squeaked.
"Thank you, Your Highness," another whimpered.
"We are eternally grateful," they all chorused, their voices shaking with fear and happiness.
"I must say, your poison selection skills are quite lacking," Aurianna said with a playful grin, causing the others to visibly gulp. "If you’re going to try to poison me, at least put some effort into it. I mean, come on, I’ve tasted better poison in my morning tea!" Aurianna giggled as their faces turned even paler.
’She knows!!’ they thought in unison.
"Also Yui, where’s the kitchen?" Aurianna asked.
"Well I can just escort you there princess," Yui stated, but Aurianna shook her head.
"I want to be alone for a while," Aurianna said, and Yui’s face tensed.
"But princess, would you be able to find it?" Yui asked with a concerned tone.
"Lost? Me? Pshh, I have an excellent sense of direction!" Aurianna exclaimed with a confident grin, but Yui still looked unsure.
"Okay, if you say so," Yui raised an eyebrow skeptically. "But, princess, I mean, we’ve had to rescue you from the broom closet three times this week alone."
Aurianna’s face turned bright red. "That was...uh...just a minor setback! I was...cleaning! Yeah, that’s it."
Yui nodded slowly. "Sure, princess. Whatever you say. Well, good luck finding the kitchen!" She gave a small wave.
Aurianna’s face was hotter than a dragon’s breath. "Wow, you’re hilarious! Do you practice that or does the snark just come naturally?" she exclaimed with a hint of sarcasm.
Yui’s voice sounded like a scared mouse. "No, no, princess. I would never dream of implying that you could get lost in your own palace." Yui’s eyes darted around the room, looking for an escape route. "However, the kitchen can be a bit tricky to navigate, even for the most astute of royalty."
Aurianna gave a dramatic eye roll that could rival a spinning top. "Oh, please, spare me. I’m not some helpless damsel in distress who can’t find her way around a few hallways." She turned to leave, but immediately realized she had no idea where she was going. "On second thought, maybe you could just tell me the way?"
Yui’s voice took on a tone of authority, as if she were directing a lost toddler. "Simply take a left and stroll for five minutes, then make a right, weave through the labyrinthine hallways, take three lefts, and you’ll find the kitchen guarded by four knights in verdant armor." Yui finished with a flourish, as if she had just recited a complex incantation.
Aurianna raised an eyebrow. "Verdant armor? You mean green armor, right?"
Yui nodded eagerly. "Yes, of course, green armor."
"Okay then, thanks," Aurianna nodded her head in gratitude as the knights opened the door for her. She stepped outside, feeling like a princess on a mission. Yui looked on with concern etched on her face. "Will she be able to find her way though? She has a horrible sense of direction. That’s why we always walk with her," Yui fretted, shaking her head.
The other servants looked at her nervously.
"I mean, come on, she’s got a sense of direction worse than a bat in a hailstorm," Yui grumbled to them as she watched Aurianna stroll away. "She’s more likely to end up in the royal gardens than the kitchen." Yui let out a deep sigh, knowing that Aurianna’s stubborn streak would never allow her to ask for directions again.
But maybe, just maybe, Aurianna would surprise them all and find her way to the kitchen. Yui shook her head, chuckling to herself. "Who am I kidding? This is Aurianna we’re talking about. The princess could get lost in a straight line."
