Saintess? Not Anymore! I'd Rather be a Destroyer-Chapter 55 - 42: Selenite’s Fall
Moonstone, who was standing near the portal, was now covered in shattered marks from her battle with the Regals. She let go of the Regal. She stabbed with her hands before he turned into bones then, dust leaving a small crystal on the ground. Moonstone stumbled back and clutched her head. It was slowly shattering, and she was panting heavily.
"This is not what I expected." A Regal appeared and said with a smirk, "I thought you would be a more formidable opponent than this..." his voice had a hint of mockery in his voice.
"That depends," Moonstone called out, standing up straight. "do you think we’re going to let you leave alive? After all the destruction you’ve caused? I won’t go down without a fight! Even if it kills me!"
There were at least twenty Regals that surrounded her. Most of them had parts of their limbs broken off their bodies while fighting, but they still seemed strong enough to kill an average gem.
Moonstone looked around her, confused and scared. There was nowhere for her to run. Some Regals had their sights set on her. She looked around to see some gems fighting with their best and being killed by the Regals. She bit her lips as she thought, ’I have to save as many gems as I can.’
__________
"You were never like this!" Selenite yelled as she attacked White Diamond with a tremendous blast that pierced through three planets, but White Diamond remained uninjured after that attack.
"You were kind, just, and loving!" Selenite yelled again as hundreds of thousands of large guns appeared behind her and fired a massive blast that took out nearby planets and stars.
Massive metallic claw-like hands appeared behind White Diamond, which protected her. She looked at Selenite coldly, who had tears streaming down her eyes.
"You’re under Black Diamond’s spell! You have to fight it!" Selenite yelled as thou sand of streaks of lights fell down on White, but White was able to easily dodge them.
White then swiped her hand, and the massive hand behind her back created a large energy as the size of a planet and attacked Selenite with a massive explosion blast that took out many planets. Selenite created shield and prevented the attack from reaching planet Sorphus. She fell to her knees in pain. Her body was badly burned from the intense heat that White Diamond had blasted unto her, but her body was slowly healing.
"I know you’re strong," Selenite said, "but even you can’t stop a weapon like this." A large technological bazooka was materialized as it generated energy, "Jupiter Canon!" Selenite yelled as it blasted and White Diamond took her spear and attacked the blast. Her face was slowly beginning to sweat. She squinted her eyes and opened her mouth. All of a sudden, the energy seemed to be swallowed by her until there was nothing left.
Selenite looked at White Diamond in shock before smirking, "I expect nothing less from my Diamond."
"I am finally the mightiest creature in all the 400 dimensions," said White Diamond as she looked at Selenite with an eerie smile. "Do you think your bazooka can injure me?"
"I doubt it could due to your current strength, but it was worth the shot," said Selenite, "However, I still miss my old Diamond."
White Diamond was silent for a long time, her gaze lost in the depths of space. Eventually, she spoke again. "That weakling? I would never be weak again!!"
White Diamond took out her spear and dashed towards Selenite. Selenite also took out her sword like guns and their weapons clashed. Their attacks were so fast that they just seemed like sparks of light flashing with each other and destroying planets.
Selenite twirls and slashed at White, but White parried her attack with her spear. Selenite smiles at White, who also smiles at her as they attack each other fiercely with everything they got.
"Edul Burst!!" White yelled and threw her spear towards Selenite. Her spear sparkled like a massive star that headed towards Selenite.
Selenite too summoned an army of beings holding guns who all shot at White Diamond’s attack once and the two energies struggled to gain an advantage. However, White’s attack got an advantage and clashed with Selenite. Her attack seemed like a nebula destroying universes and galaxies in its paths before turning into a black hole, swallowing everything around it. After the black hole disappeared it revealed Selenite who had lost her right arm and a portion of her belly. She stood before planet Sorphus, protecting it with a barrier. The surrounding Regals who were residing above the planet in the space were now gone.
"I think I killed them. Well, who cares? They’re just Regals," White Diamond muttered to herself and shrugged.
She looked at and frowned. White then jumped up and down and kicked herself towards Selenite and landed an energy kicked her in the guts, sending her crashing towards Sorphus.
Seeing Selenite fall, Moonstone immediately dashed towards Selenite and caught her before landing heavily.
"Selenite your... body!" Moonstone gasped in shock as she caressed Selenite’s face to see so many cracks and some limbs missing. Tears flowed down her eyes as she glared up at White Diamond.
"Don’t worry Moonstone I would be fine, escape with the others," Selenite said softly as she patted Moonstone on the head and pushed herself off.
"No, we won’t leave you here to die!" Moonstone refuted adamantly.
"Yes you will," Selenite stated, and a white portal shaped like a pearl appeared underneath the feet of the gems left behind as they sunk inside. Moonstone watched in horror as Selenite struggled to get up and she pointed her gun towards the sky filled with Regals. Her body was immediately shattered by a White Diamond’s spear that pierced her body. Fragments of her body fell into Moonstone’s portal before it closed. As Moonstone was being teleported, she grabbed a piece of the gem and closed her eyes.
Moonstone then woke up to see Antarcticite staring at her and other gems staring at her all with worried faces. Some were crying on each other’s shoulders, while others clenched their broken body parts.
"What happened to Selenite?" A gem asked with a shaky voice.
Moonstone trembled as she held a piece of Selenite and showed it to them
"Ahah," the gem shrieked, holding her hand out and knelt down. Tears flowed down her eyes as she began to cry. The others too followed, crying and hugging each other. However, after a few minutes they all stopped as their faces were filled with hatred and anger.
Moonstone gritted her teeth, "White Diamond!! White Diamond!"
Moonstone remembered the times when White Diamond was different.
Moonstone remembered when she would sneak a peek at a White Diamond playing with the children gems while they bullied her. Other times, White Diamond would let some of them sleep in her room.
She remembered a time when she was young she was with White Diamond who tried to style her hair.
"Master, you did my hair all wrong. Now I look funky," Young Moonstone pouted. As she looked at her reflection in the mirror to see her hair standing up like a pyramid.
"It looks good though," White Diamond said innocently with a smile.
"Selenite, please tell her it looks weird," Moonstone looked at Selenite with tears eyes.
Selenite tried to hold in her laughter and said gently, "What ever master does is beautiful."
"Selenite!!" Moonstone pouted.
"Am I that bad?" White Diamond asked with tears eyes as she cried dramatically.
Feeling bad, Moonstone patted White Diamond and pouted, "It’s not so bad and master did it for me so I like it."
White Diamond smiled at her and hugged her. "What a lovely child you are. You’re all like my children and I love you very much."
Moonstone opened her eyes and remembered those cold eyes she saw today.
"Those eyes weren’t my Diamond’s."
*******
The silence lasted for a long time, but it was broken by Moonstone. "No use mourning now. Our major mission is to recover the two White Diamonds," Moonstone stated, wiping the tears from her eyes, "What do you think, Antarcticite?" She looked up at a man in Royal clothes who looked at her calmly.
"I have no problem. I will stay here and protect Home world, while you guys find them," Antarcticite stated before getting up. He had short hair that covered one of his eyes and a pair of calm, white eyes. Everyone got up from their seats as they nodded.
"Since we’ve all agreed, let’s split up to look for our Diamonds. Ulexite, White Howlite and I, will search universe five. While, White Topaz, Natrolite, and Castorite would search universe thirty. We must find them as quickly as we can," Moonstone ordered before everyone disappeared.
"The new White Diamonds.... if you threaten our peace, safety, or freedom, I won’t hesitate to kill you," Antarcticite promised to himself before he disappeared from the room too.
__________
Aurianna slowly opened her eyes and looked around the room to see no one there. She tried to get up, but she felt a severe ache all over her body and laid down again.
’I wonder why my body didn’t heal on the battlefield,’ Aurianna thought and stared at her feet to see that she was on a king-size bed with a pink covering on it. The room was illuminated by floating balls of white light and there were four small balls of fire that floated around Aurianna keeping her warm.
’Was it because of that woman?’ Aurianna thought as she slowly placed her right hand on her chest.
"Hah, what did I expect? There’s no gem there," Aurianna sneered to herself. "I just wonder who that woman was."
Aurianna closed her eyes as she thought about what happened after the war.
As they rode through the streets of the Kingdom, she could hear the cheers and praises of the people despite being in a semi-conscious state.
"Hail to King Girsal!"
"The Royal Family is so great!"
"Thank you for protecting us!"
"Long live King Girsal! Long live the Royal Family!" The people cheered happily as they waved at the Royal carriages.
Aurianna gritted her teeth so hard that it caused her to bleed. Aurianna slowly placed her aching hand on her mouth to see blood. She then licked the blood on her mouth and sighed.
"What’s wrong Aurianna?" Eva asked as she popped up and laid beside Aurianna.
"So you finally show up," Aurianna chuckled.
"I had some matters to investigate," Eva replied with an innocent smile, and Aurianna rolled her eyes.
"I see, why the people took my father’s side in the past," Aurianna blurted out as she raised her hand to try to touch the ball of fire, but it escaped from her grasp.
"How could I outshine the achievements he had done for this Kingdom? He had already manipulated the minds of the people to believe he’s a good king. And it’s true too. He cares about his people, and family, but what he loves most are power and his kingdom. He is literally a perfect king, but his hunger for power was his flaw. Furthermore, he had never done anything directly for the people to believe he was bad. It’s almost like..." Aurianna paused, not knowing what words to use. She placed her hand on her chest as she could feel a burning feeling. Aurianna could feel that she was about to cry, but she held it in.
’I would not cry!’ She thought to herself.
"Inhumanely smart?" Eva asked, continuing her sentence.
"Yes," Aurianna said and looked at Eva, "For him to be able to manipulate others to this extent, or he is just good at what he does. Even though he’s strong and enforces his rules, the people still love him. And in the past when Sandeph became a High Land he was praised more."
"There could be people who hated him," Eva added, and Aurianna nodded.
"There were, and they wanted to overthrow him, but they failed miserably and were killed."
"No subjects tried to betray him?" Eva asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Even if they wanted to, they couldn’t. If you look closely at all the Dukes, Knights, and other subjects, they have an emerald tattoo with five swords around it," Aurianna said.
"Oh."
"I figured out that the tattoo is one of King Girsal’s skills," Aurianna revealed, her face turning cold. "The emerald tattoo, maybe that’s what makes it impossible for his subjects to disobey him or go against him."
"You’re right. It’s a skill he uses, so no matter what, you can’t betray him. If you have the thought to betray him it would be immediately erased," Eva got up and sat on the bed.
"That’s bad, but something’s doesn’t add up," Aurianna stated as she pondered carefully, "In the past, some of his children were able to betray him. I wonder how that is possible?"
Eva shrugged, "They simply found a way to break out of the tattoo."
"So, can you neutralize the tattoo? Like it would still be there, but it wouldn’t work," Aurianna asked. She struggled as she slowly lifted herself up to a sitting position.
"Of course, I can!" Eva declared proudly placing her hands on her hips.
"I guess I’ll be counting on you then," Aurianna smiled, but Eva frowned before saying, "You shouldn’t always rely on me, what if I’m not there to protect you, or help?"
"I guess I would just do my best to figure out a solution on my own," Aurianna answered sheepishly as she scratched her head.
Eva looked at Aurianna with a satisfied smile and patted her on the head, "That is my Diamond."
"Well, I have got to go, Leila needs me," Eva stated, getting up before disappearing.
"Eva wait!!" Aurianna yelled, but there was no response. "I wanted some info on the lady I saw...," Aurianna said softly to herself.
"I wonder if Leila was also attacked by that strange woman," Aurianna wondered.
"Oh yes! I received some notifications, let me check how much I’ve grown," Aurianna’s eyes brightened, and the system screen appeared before her.
