Saintess? Not Anymore! I'd Rather be a Destroyer-Chapter 275 - 261: Fighting Aurianna 2
Juastizel joined in, his cannons that grew from his back crackling with powerful magic energy. He then unleashed a massive cannon blast that soared through the air, colliding with Athena’s water spikes to create an explosion so enormous it lit up the entire dungeon land. The ground shook, and a deafening roar echoed across the land as fire and water vapor consumed the area.
"Is it over?" Haruno asked cautiously, his sword still drawn, his eyes scanning the smoke and debris.
"No," Athena replied, her voice trembling. Her breath hitched as the figure of Aurianna emerged from the smoke, unharmed. Not a scratch marred her body, and even her dress that was made by Kleizorn and Elizabeth remained fine, while the others parts of their clothes were torn and some were injured.
Aurianna smiled brightly, with amusement in her eyes. "Let’s make this more fun," she said, her voice ringing with excitement. "For just ten minutes, I’ll let you all use your most powerful skills on me. Come on! At this rate, I’m just going to heal from every attack you throw at me. And if you think you can outlast me, forget it. I can fight for five years straight!"
"Shit," Juastizel muttered, his grip tightening on his arm as beads of sweat formed on his brow.
"Maybe... maybe we should take her offer," Dominid said cautiously.
Athena glanced at her companions, her jaw clenched. "If we don’t, we’re all dead anyway," she said.
"Then let’s make these ten minutes count," Haruno added, stepping forward.
Aurianna stood at the ready, her grin widening. "That’s the spirit! Don’t hold back now!"
"But what if it’s a trap, and she wants us to attack her?" Juastizel asked, his voice filled with suspicion as he eyed Aurianna warily.
"Even so, it’s still the best shot we’ve got!" Getha snapped, her impatience evident as she adjusted her grip on her massive hammer.
Aurianna laughed lightly, the sound sending chills down their spines. "Oh, don’t worry. While you unleash your most powerful skills, all I’ll do is use one skill on myself. Doesn’t that sound fair? If you succeed, you might even kill me... for a while," she teased with a confident smirk.
’It’s that confidence that makes me nervous,’ Juastizel thought, his brows furrowing. ’Or maybe she’s bluffing. Our attacks still do damage—maybe not enough to stop her outright, but everyone has limits to their healing. It’s worth a shot.’
"What does she mean, ’for a while’?" Getha asked, her confusion apparent.
"She’ll revive herself," Athena explained, her tone grim.
"Crazy," Getha spat, letting her hammer rest on her shoulder, her sharp teeth flashing as she scowled.
"So, what do you say?" Aurianna asked, tilting her head with a playful grin.
"Heh, little missy, if you’re so eager to die, I’ll gladly help you!" Getha declared, her bloodlust igniting.
"You all—let’s do it," Juastizel said, his voice cutting through the tension. He looked at the others, who hesitated for a moment before nodding.
The group moved quickly, distancing themselves from Aurianna until they were several kilometers away. The ground beneath them crackled with energy as they prepared their ultimate attacks.
"Water that pierces through the heavens, slashing and destroying everything in its path—Water Dragon Arrow!" Athena roared, her body glowing with a brilliant blue light. The sky darkened, and heavy rain began to fall as ten colossal water dragons materialized, their serpentine forms coiling around her. A massive bow formed from the rain, aiming directly at Aurianna. With a deafening roar, the dragons surged forward, their piercing cries echoing across the battlefield.
"Blooming Mirage!" Dominid bellowed, his body radiating a vibrant green aura. The land beneath him shimmered as it was engulfed in a dark green light. Enormous plant monsters erupted from the ground, their mouths opening wide as they unleashed devastating beams of destructive mana toward Aurianna.
"Einfola Zointeck!" Juastizel shouted, his arm morphing into a massive cannon that grew larger with each passing second. Ten ominous dark magic circles appeared behind him, each one charging with magic energy. With a deafening blast, he released a torrent of concentrated magic, the beam tearing through the air toward Aurianna.
"Lava Hammer!" Getha yelled, her hammer expanding to a colossal size, glowing molten red as streams of lava dripped from its surface. She swung it with unrestrained fury, the hammer crashing down like a volcanic eruption.
"Thunder Clap!" Haruno cried out, raising his sword as the sky split open with thunder and lightning. The electric storm condensed into a humanoid figure, wielding a massive blade made of pure lightning. The being raised its weapon high before bringing it down with a devastating swing aimed at Aurianna.
"Ohh, so shiny. Erum Ragia, the Impenetrable Temple!" Aurianna called out, as she activated her skill. A massive castle materialized around her, its gleaming towers adorned with radiant white crystals. At its heart, an Archeon knight holding a massive shield emerged, its body a fusion of white and black crystal. The knight stood firm, raising a massive shield to block the incoming attacks.
The sky erupted in a cascade of explosions as the combined assaults from her enemies rained down on her temple, shaking the ground with deafening force. When the dust finally cleared, Erum Ragia still stood—cracked, before it shattered into a thousand pieces. Aurianna remained unscathed.
"Not bad," Aurianna said with a chuckle, brushing off her shoulders. "You all really went all out. I’m impressed. That was impressive. If not for Erum Ragia I could have been seriously injured."
"Impossible..." Juastizel gasped, his hand trembling as he lowered his cannon hand.
"She’s... inhuman," Dominid whispered, his knees nearly buckling.
Aurianna’s smirk widened as she clasped her hands together, causing the air around her to vibrate. "As promised, that was your ten minutes. Now it’s my turn."
"That brat is actually strong," Avriel remarked, leaning on his staff with a look of intrigue. "Why didn’t she use all these tricks when she fought with you, Jade?"
The slaves had already been evacuated and the only ones left were their respective groups and the people they came to rescue.
"After all that, she’s still standing. That’s insane," Yelina said nervously, her hands clenched at her sides. She glanced at Aurianna, her mind racing. ’Why am I even here watching this? I don’t know why, but I want to see what more she can do. Aurianna Vanluad... what the hell are you? Did you have any motives for befriending my brother?’
"I guess she didn’t want to show off all her skills," Jade mused, his golden eyes narrowing as he observed Aurianna. "She’s a monster. Using this many abilities simultaneously would destroy a normal body. I’ve only been able to withstand it because I modified myself extensively. But her resilience... that’s purely tied to her race. I need to study her further. When we return, I’ll conduct more tests."
"What do you mean, ’her race’?" Peter asked, curiosity gleaming in his eyes.
Jade turned to him, his expression cold. "I see no reason to relay such information to a stranger."
Peter smirked, folding his arms. "I’m actually her childhood friend, y’know. If not, why would she ask us to stay with you guys?" 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
Jade raised an eyebrow, acknowledging the point with a slight nod. "Fair."
As Peter scrutinized Jade and the others around him, a chill ran down his spine. ’Whoever this man is, as well as these other three people, they’re dangerous. I can’t read their time.’
"I don’t trust you, human," Zagan said. "But it should be clear that Master is far from human."
"What race is she?" Jade asked.
"Master doesn’t even know herself," Hadina remarked nonchalantly, her voice distorted and barely audible to anyone except Avriel, Jugi, Zagan, and Jade. "After all, she was an experiment created by her real mother."
Jade’s eyes narrowed, sensing there was more to the story. "How do you know that?" he asked, his tone sharp.
Hadina chuckled darkly. "Snooped through Eva’s files in the void space," she replied casually, as if it were no big deal.
A flicker of interest passed through Jade’s eyes, but it was quickly overshadowed by his curiosity about Aurianna’s origins. "However, I do know their mother is one crazy greater goddess," Hadina muttered under her breath.
Jade leaned forward, clearly intrigued. "Tell us more."
"Peh, no way. Fuck off," Hadina scoffed, clearly unwilling to reveal anything more.
Jade’s expression darkened. "Hey, octopus, I’m not playing around," he said coldly, his golden eyes narrowing. In an instant, his hand shot out, gripping Hadina by the neck and lifting her off the ground.
Hadina’s eyes widened, but she still managed a defiant sneer. "You think I’m afraid of you?" she spat. "Once Master reaches her full potential, my seal will be removed. You’ll get a good beating from me!" She sounded proud, but then a loud slap echoed through the air as Jade’s hand struck her cheek, leaving it bright red.
"How dare you hit my face, you outrageous human!" Hadina shrieked, her voice laced with anger.
Jade’s grip tightened slightly, his voice cold as ice. "If I’m correct, you’re Aurianna’s familiar. So if she doesn’t allow it, you can’t hurt me no matter how much you threaten me. And who’s this Eva?"
Hadina laughed, though there was a bitterness to it. "Ehh, you can’t see her? Heh, weaklings. She’s sitting next to us this whole time, watching. Right, Eva?" Hadina gestured to the empty space beside them, as though addressing someone invisible.
A distorted voice responded. "Shut up, Hadina," it scoffed, and for a brief moment, a shadowy figure flickered into view before vanishing just as quickly.
Zagan’s eyes widened in shock. "That shadow just disappeared," he muttered.
Hadina gave a casual shrug. "Very soon, you three will be able to see her, after all. You bear Aurianna’s mark. Even Boara and Zagan have seen her."
Jade’s patience was wearing thin. "Yes, but regarding Aurianna’s race and her mother—speak up."
Hadina glared at him, her face twisting with frustration. "Youuuu..." she seethed, her fists clenching.
Jade raised his hand threateningly. "I’ll slap you again."
Hadina’s eyes widened, her defiance faltering for a moment. "Master, is this human bullying me?!" she cried out.
Jade ignored her, his gaze cold. "She’s busy," he replied dismissively.
Hadina, desperate, turned to Zagan, her eyes pleading. "Zagan..."
Zagan’s sharp ears twitched, his expression serious. "I want to know as well," he said.
