Saintess? Not Anymore! I'd Rather be a Destroyer-Chapter 274 - 260: Fighting Aurianna
"Seems you cannot be reasoned with. I hope you realize how many powerful churches support our organization. Making an enemy of us means making an enemy of the churches as well," Juastizel declared, his voice cold.
"Oh, I knew that," Aurianna replied, her tone casual, almost dismissive.
"And you would still dare to—" Juastizel began, his anger rising.
"Yes!" Aurianna interrupted with a radiant smile.
"We’re dealing with a madwoman here," Dominid, the elf, muttered in frustration, his cold gaze fixed on Aurianna. He stood confidently, clad in light, flexible clothing, his spear resting easily in his hand. "How did you even manage to provoke a Grand Human, Athena?"
"She wasn’t a Grand Human when we captured her to be sold," Athena replied, her nervousness evident. Her eyes darted to Aurianna, who seemed unfazed by the discussion. "She was just an Arc Human then. I have no idea how she became a Grand Human so quickly."
"The same one you mentioned—the one who wiped out the former base?" Dominid asked, his brow furrowing.
"Yes," Athena confirmed, her gaze hardening as it lingered on Aurianna. "And her summon especially is the most dangerous. I went through so much trouble cleaning up the mess after she destroyed that base!" Her voice sharpened with anger.
Dominid crossed his arms, his expression skeptical. "So, how do you explain her becoming a Grand Human? That level of growth is unheard of. No one can ascend to that rank in just two years unless they were already close to a breakthrough. And even then, it would take at least two centuries."
"I have no idea," Athena admitted, shaking her head helplessly.
"Then we’ll rip off her limbs and get some answers," Dominid suggested calmly. His grip tightened on his spear, his eyes narrowing. "Leave her barely alive. She won’t be able to summon whatever it is you’re so afraid of."
"Yeah, maybe," Athena murmured, though doubt flickered in her eyes. "But she can heal... like a demon. No, faster than a demon, actually. It’s almost unnatural."
"Oh, then it will be easy for me to handle her!" Getha, a devil woman with bright red skin and jet-black eyes, grinned wickedly. She towered over the others, her long tail swaying behind her as though it had a mind of its own. With one hand, she hefted a massive hammer over her shoulder as if it weighed nothing. "Anyone who causes such a disruption to the organization must die!" she declared, excitement gleaming in her eyes.
Her gaze locked onto Aurianna, and a sinister thought crossed her mind. ’Things have been so dull lately. I hope this child can provide me with some real entertainment. Or maybe... she’s no child at all. Perhaps she’s just an old miser in disguise. After all, no child can become a Grand Human.’
"Are you all done chatting? I’m still waiting for you," Aurianna’s bored tone cut through their talks, her posture relaxed.
"How arrogant," Juastizel spat, his composure cracking a bit.
Aurianna tilted her head, "Oh, a dark elf and a regular elf working together?" Her voice was filled with surprise as her gaze flicked between Haruno and Dominid, who stood side by side, weapons ready. "I thought you two were supposed to be mortal enemies!"
"Those are foolish rumors spread by those who lack understanding," Haruno said evenly, his tone calm but sharp. "Elves, no matter our differences, are family."
Aurianna’s expression darkened, her lips curling into a smirk. "Family? Yet you sell your own kind as slaves. How hypocritical."
Haruno’s grip on his sword tightened, his expression unchanging. "And so what? That’s simply the way of life and we get profit so I see no problem," he replied coldly.
"I see," Aurianna mused, taking a step forward. Her smirk deepened as she suddenly attacked. "Well, Ace Kick!"
Her skill activated with blinding speed, her foot crashing into Dominid who has luckily used his spear to block. The force of that attack sent him staggering back.
Haruno lunged at her with his blade, a precise strike aimed for her neck. Aurianna sidestepped, her movements fluid, and drew her revolver in a single motion. Shots rang out as she fired, each bullet narrowly missing Haruno as he easily dodged.
The air grew tense as all of her enemies moved at once, charging toward her in unison.
Massive vines erupted from the ground, tearing through the landscape like serpents. They coiled and lashed toward Aurianna, forcing her to leap into the air, using the debris as footholds.
Juastizel, standing at a distance, unleashed a volley of devastating gun magic. Explosions erupted in the sky, each blast aimed to tear Aurianna apart. At the same time, Dominid’s spear glowed with a brilliant green light as he hurled it toward her with immense force. The spear cut through the air like a comet, colliding with Juastizel’s attacks to form a towering pillar of destructive mana that shook the earth.
The battlefield fell silent for a moment as the dust cleared.
But then, from the center of the dust, Aurianna walked out, her injured. Blood streamed down her hand, but her wounds closed almost instantly, like they were never there in the first place.
Without missing another chance, she charged at them, her two revolvers glowing as she fired shot after shot.
"You’re annoying!" Dominid growled, stepping back as Aurianna closed in on him.
"Thanks for the compliment!" she quipped, delivering a powerful roundhouse kick to his spear once more that caused the land around them to shatter and forced him to retreat.
Haruno charged in from the side, his blade appearing blurry as he aimed for her sode, trying to catch her off guard. Aurianna ducked low, narrowly evading the strike, and fired a several shots at him. Haruno twisted his body, avoiding the bullet, but the corner of his cloak was torn to shreds.
"Slippery little thing. She’s definitely fast," Haruno muttered, glaring at her.
Suddenly, Getha joined them, swinging her massive hammer recklessly. The ground quaked under the force of her strikes, sending shockwaves that cracked the earth and disrupted Aurianna’s footing.
"Come on, little girl!" Getha taunted, her grin widening. "If you dared to be so arrogant to threaten us. You need the strength to back it up. Because there’s hell to pay after ruining such an important event."
Aurianna jumped to the side, dodging a downward smash that created a crater where she had stood moments ago. "Little girl?" Aurianna repeated and she felt a bit offended, "I am much older than I look!"
Getha’s laughter boomed as she lunged at Aurianna again, her tail whipping toward Aurianna like a striking snake. Aurianna caught it with one hand, twisting it sharply, causing Getha to hiss in pain.
Before Aurianna could follow through, Juastizel’s voice rang out, his tone dripping with malice. "Enough playing around!" He raised his arm, and the air crackled with dark energy as a massive spell circle formed above them.
A black lightning blast descended from the sky, striking toward Aurianna; however she had dodge the attack that blasted the surrounding area.
The other Arc Humans charged at Aurianna. But she moved too fast for their eyes to keep up, dodging their attacks effortlessly and attacking them with her leg. Three Arc humans fell immediately, their bodies crumpling to the ground as their blood died th ground red. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
"You all should fall back! It’s clear you’re no match for her!" Athena ordered. She glanced at another Arc Human who died under Aurianna’s kick attack. His body pierced by her long shoe like blade before she easily slashed the man in half, causing blood to spew around as the dead body fell and she kicked the blood on her blade of it.
Athena’s gaze lingered on Aurianna’s feet. What she initially assumed were shoes shaped were actually tall blades that started from under her feet and formed around her leg like a boot. However she could easily stand on the two blades..
"What the hell is she?" Athena muttered under her breath, her unease growing.
Aurianna spotted a group of Arc Humans retreating and lunged after them, her intent to kill every last one clear. Before she could strike, Getha intercepted her, swinging her massive hammer.
Their weapons clashed violently, the hammer expanding and contracting mid-battle, creating an ear-piercing screech with each collision. The force of their blows sent shockwaves through the air, rattling the ground below as they fought high above.
Even though it was the dead of night, the explosions from their battle illuminated the sky of the dungeon lands making it clear to see that a group of Grand Humans were fighting.
In the nearby town of Heaha, the commotion woke those who had been peacefully sleeping. Some ventured outside, their faces pale with terror, but decided to catch glimpses of the fight unfolding in the distance. Others, gripped by fear, fled from their homes in fear that the fight might be brought to them.
Athena, determined to bring the battle to an end, raised her hands. The air shimmered as she conjured thousands of glowing water spikes, each one sharp and glinting under the sky. With a single swing of her hand, she sent them all hurtling toward Aurianna.
