Chapter 161: Chapter 147: Revive them

King Girsal maintained a stern expression as he addressed Aurianna, "I’m merely disciplining her." The crystal knights, their attention fixed, observed King Girsal intensly.

"That incessant blabbering of yours was irritating. Don’t repeat it," King Girsal declared with a chilly tone.

"Do you really think I’m that dense?" He inquired, locking eyes with Aurianna, body was being crushed by the gravitational pressure he was releasing on her, "Keep your focus on the battlefield," he directed, pointing in that direction.

Aurianna turned her head and noticed Amber wielding a large cannon similar to hers. Mana surged inside as Amber pointed it towards the Infinite Nation’s army.

"Jupiter!" Amber exclaimed, summoning a massive star that descended like a colossal planet. It transformed into light, entering the cannon and causing the energy within to spiral out of control. She unleashed the energy at the enemy, and despite attempts by the Arc Humans to block the attack, the onslaught of radiation weakened their defenses, claiming the lives of the weaker ones.

’He developed that blast cannon so quickly? Blast cannon wasn’t created till I was 18, so why was it developed too early??!!’ Aurianna wondered anxiously. ’And why does the design resemble my cannon?’ she pondered, scrutinizing King Girsal.

"Don’t underestimate your old man; I’m always miles ahead, no matter what happens," King Girsal said with a proud grin.

"Even though your mother may be foolish, she’s a magic prodigy. Her attack power has just been amplified through the use of the blast cannon with the help of a Mecha’s core. Mechas are renowned for their destructive capabilities. I’m sure you grasp the mechanics of the cannon, given the similarity to your cannon," King Girsal explained.

Furrowing his brows, King Girsal stared at Aurianna. "You looked utterly ignorant making all that talk. There was a plan for Mellisa to use the Blast Cannon to weaken them. But since you kept on reviving them, it gave her some reassurance and stopped her from using it. I may have made wrong calculations but with Blast Cannon we could have easily won, if she set it to destructive mode, which could have killed everyone, and possibly you."

"Moreover, Melissa likely didn’t consider using the cannon on the golems. Sometimes, she lacks foresight," King Girsal commented.

’That’s why the Church of Beauty sides with him. His weapon designs and creations are dangerous. In the future, even a human could take down a High Human with those,’ Aurianna thought, shooting a disdainful look at him.

"I won’t repeat myself—revive them." King Girsal ordered, his gaze icy.

"I can’t, okay? Even if I wanted to, I can’t. Did you forget I’m not a Saintess?" Aurianna yelled as the pressure on her finally lifted.

’It wasn’t supposed to be like this!’ she thought, beginning to bite her nails. ’If that Arc Human wasn’t present, I wouldn’t have needed to revive these knights so often. And I could have pretended there’s a limit to my revival powers. Afterward, I could devour their souls on the battlefield, considering they would all have died in combat. This didn’t go as I predicted! Sometimes, Eva, that future sight of yours would be helpful,’ Aurianna thought angrily.

’I’m not allowed to do that,’ Eva shook her head.

"Ahh, yes," King Girsal muttered, "but you have the powers of a Saintess, so you can."

’You jerk, I really can’t! They’re digesting in my tummy!’ Aurianna groaned internally, realizing he wouldn’t let her off easily. Devouring 120,000 of her own knights? That’s genocide!

’Scary!’ Aurianna gasped as she noticed a frightening expression on King Girsal’s face.

"I can’t revive them all, but I can try with Melissa and Antya," Aurianna said nervously, clutching her dress.

’System, please tell me both of them haven’t digested,’ Aurianna pleaded inwardly.

[They haven’t. I can expel them from your system.] The system stated, and suddenly, Aurianna felt something in her mouth.

"This is disgusting," Aurianna grimaced, retrieving two rainbow-colored balls from her mouth. A white light enveloped her hand as she held the orbs, furrowing her brows.

Aurianna pondered, ’I don’t know how to revive others without their body. But considering these rainbow-colored balls contain their souls and flesh, maybe I can.’ The orbs floated before her, and she watched as they slowly began reconstructing Melissa’s and Antya’s bodies.

After an hour, Melissa and Antya stood fully revived.

"I’m alive!" Melissa exclaimed, both she and Antya completely naked. Duke Oswald swiftly removed two large capes from his ring, covering them.

"I thought I died," Antya wondered, touching her face.

Aurianna panted heavily, her eyes feeling heavy, as streaks of black lines tainted with red marks courses through her entire skin and grew larger.

’Who knew reviving them like this would be so challenging?’ she wondered.

"Now, can you revive the rest?" King Girsal ordered, but Aurianna paid him no mind.

"Aurianna!" King Girsal called out, but she seemed dazed as black lines, tainted with red marks, coursed through her skin.

[ You’ve successfully digested the 120,000 souls you devoured. You have managed to break two of the One Thousand Black chain seals.]

’Black chain seal, what’s that?’ Aurianna wondered, recalling the chains that bound her soul.

The black lines transformed into chains, tightening around Aurianna. ’What are these black chains?’ she wondered as they turned into spikes, piercing her body, causing her to tremble.

"Aurianna, what is that?" King Girsal asked, touching one of the spikes. He immediately jumped a kilometer away, staring at his trembling hands.

Seeing King Girsal in the distance, Oswald dashed to him with Melissa and Antya. ’This aura is horrifying, why is a high-level seal placed on her?’ King Girsal wondered, realizing the danger.

’This child is more dangerous than I thought,’ he thought coldly.

’I can’t move my body!’ Aurianna panicked before two black chains expelled from her and shattered. The chains disappeared, and Aurianna sat up with a frown.

’Why did King Girsal dash away like that?’ she wondered as he shifted his attention to the war.

’I guess he won’t press on about reviving those knights, seeing his face. Well, this works in my favor.’

"Master," Queen called out.

"Yes, Queen," Aurianna responded.

"All of a sudden, your life was extended!" Queen gasped, and Aurianna opened her eyes wide in shock.

"Oh, this is interesting," Aurianna said with a smile.

’I do feel a lot lighter and better than usual. What’s more, my level has increased. And I gained some new skills to choose from,’ she thought as she got up and cleaned herself with magic.

’Eva, care to provide an explanation?’ Aurianna said, crossing her arms.

"I’m sure you’ve already seen the seal on your soul," Eva said.

"Yes," Aurianna nodded.

"And a remnant of the former White Gemaris’ soul," Eva added, and Aurianna nodded again.

"I have no idea who placed the seal on you and Leila, but they are extremely powerful. The situation is more complicated. I’m unaware of the person’s identity," Eva said, appearing beside Aurianna with a frown.

"So a dead end?" Aurianna asked Eva telepathically.

"Yes," Eva nodded.

"But it seemed that when I ate all those souls, my body feels alot better."

"Probably the former White Gemaris got weakened since your soul got stronger. What’s more, two seals got broken," Eva explained.

"But eating that many souls for just two seals to break? So for 998 chains, I have to kill more people!" Aurianna said excitedly, staring at Eva.

"Then I estimate 60 million," Eva casually said.

"60 million? By the time I get to kill that amount, I’m already dead!" Aurianna complained internally, going back to her seat and pouting.

"I have 11 more years. So it means every day I have to kill more than 10,000 people. But we don’t fight wars every day!" She felt her great ache in her heart the more she thought about it.

Contemplating her options, Aurianna pondered, "Maybe I should join the church of war!" She thought, while her hand rested on her chin. But then, she shook her head, thinking, "I don’t want to."

Nia, cheekily said, "Dumb master, did you forget that your life increases whenever a chain breaks?" Aurianna shot her a pointed glare in response.

Amused a bit, Aurianna said, "Chi, Chi, Chi, I’ll think more about this once the war is over." She laid back in her chair, observing the war drawing to its close end.

"I guess Sandeph won the second round," Aurianna remarked, her attention drawn to the mysterious figures allied with her father killing off the Arc Humans of the Infinite Army.

Queen leaned in close to Aurianna to convey an important piece of information, "Master, considering your need for the bodies and souls of the Infinite Nation’s Army, I nullified the effect of the Sandeph army weapons on the Infinite army. Now they can be revived."

Realizing the importance, Aurianna expressed her gratitude, "How did I overlook this? Thank you so much, Queen!" She affectionately touched Queen’s cheeks.

"I merely did what you would have done," Queen responded with a gentle smile.

With a serious expression, Aurianna inquired, "How long do you think you can last against Queen Shiba?" The second round was about to end.

Nia replied cheekily, "Well, we’d be fortunate to endure 30 attacks from her, especially considering how furious she seems right now." Aurianna turned her attention to the screen displaying Queen Shiba, whose face contorted in rage as she bled from gripping her palms fiercely.

"I bet she didn’t anticipate King Girsal’s new weapon and those mysterious people killing the Arc Humans," Aurianna said.

"I recognize that noxious scent anywhere. Paige’s dogs!" She clicked her tongue in disdain.
