Rise Of The Villain : In a World Ruled By Anomalies-Chapter 54 : A Gorilla Berserker
Arthur leaned back slightly and looked at the woman standing in front of him.
Then he said casually, "You brute strength orc of a woman."
For a brief moment, Julia froze.
Her brain seemed to completely stop processing for a second.
Someone...
Someone had just called her that.
A faint twitch appeared on her eyebrow.
Then a vein slowly popped on her forehead.
Inside her mind she took a long breath.
’Control yourself Julia... control yourself.’
’He is the one who saved your brother.’
’If it were someone else, he would already be lying unconscious on the floor with foam coming out of his mouth.’
She forced a polite smile onto her face.
It looked calm.
But it clearly required an immense amount of self-control.
"I apologize for attacking you out of nowhere, Mr. Arthur," she said.
Julia then stood up properly and bowed her head slightly.
Arthur watched her for a moment.
Then he stood up as well.
"Alright, it’s fine. Don’t worry about it."
His eyes moved over her briefly before he tilted his head slightly.
"Are you sure you don’t need a bath and some new clothes?"
The moment he said that—
Julia suddenly became aware of her condition.
Her eyes slowly looked down at herself.
Her training outfit had several small tears along the sides.
Dust and dirt clung to the fabric.
Her hair looked messy.
And then she noticed the smell.
A strong smell of sweat rose from her body.
It was the smell of someone who clearly had not taken a proper bath for several days.
Julia’s face instantly turned beet red.
Embarrassment flooded her expression.
The maid standing beside her immediately stepped forward.
"Miss, I will prepare a bath for you immediately."
Julia lowered her head slightly and replied in a quieter voice.
"Please do."
The maid quickly hurried away.
Julia turned and began walking toward the hallway.
But before she could leave—
Arthur spoke again.
"What happened for you to end up in this state?"
Julia stopped.
She turned her head slowly and looked back at him.
Then she asked calmly, "Have you come here to train too?"
Arthur nodded.
"Yes."
Julia suddenly smiled.
But the smile carried a faint hint of menace.
"Then you will find out soon."
Without saying anything else she turned and walked away.
Arthur watched her leave.
Then he swallowed slightly.
’Looks like Yuna’s training is no joke...’
’If even the daughter of a great martial arts family ends up looking like that...’
He took a deep breath.
Then he muttered quietly, "Remember Arthur... no pain, no gain."
Arthur sat down again.
He leaned back in the chair and pulled out his phone.
Since Yuna still hadn’t returned, he began scrolling through the news.
"At least the internet connection here is good," he muttered.
As he browsed through the latest headlines, two major news stories caught his attention immediately.
They were trending everywhere.
Arthur raised an eyebrow.
The first headline read:
Jessica Evan Imperius returns from the Null Realm.
Arthur tapped the article.
The report stated that Jessica Evan Imperius had successfully returned after conquering a territory inhabited by Titans.
A region that had long been considered impossible to conquer.
According to the report—
Jessica had defeated the Titan King.
Alone.
As proof, she had brought back the Titan King’s severed head.
The massive corpse was reportedly displayed inside the Imperius family estate.
The article went on to praise the overwhelming strength of the Imperius family.
Many political analysts claimed the Imperius family secretly controlled several nations behind the scenes.
Arthur stared at the screen quietly.
Memories surfaced in his mind.
Jessica Evan Imperius.
He knew her.
Or more accurately—
He remembered her.
"So she came back..." Arthur muttered.
His expression remained calm.
"Whatever."
"She isn’t any different from the rest."
He shrugged slightly.
"After all... she was one of the people who broke my bones the most."
Arthur scrolled further down.
Another section discussed the influence of the Imperius family.
Many reports suggested that several world leaders operated under their influence.
Arthur snorted quietly.
"They’re not entirely wrong."
"The Imperius family doesn’t serve anyone."
Arthur leaned back in his chair while still holding his phone, his eyes scanning through the article as the news continued explaining the power behind the Imperius family.
The Imperius family in this world was somewhat similar to the concept of North Korea on Earth.
They ruled one of the largest countries on the continent of Vespara.
Vespara itself was the largest continent in the entire world.
And at the heart of it stood the Valkeria Empire.
The nation ruled entirely by the Imperius family.
The Valkeria Empire was not just large.
It was one of the most powerful nations in existence.
Across the entire world, there were only two countries capable of challenging their military might.
Only two.
On paper, the Valkeria Empire looked like a normal democratic nation.
There were political parties.
There were elections.
Campaigns were held every few years.
But anyone who understood the truth knew that all of those things were merely a performance.
Every political party ultimately served only one family.
The Imperius family.
They were the true rulers behind the entire empire.
And no one dared to challenge their authority.
Not the military.
Not the politicians.
Not even the nobles.
If the Imperius family issued even a single command, wars could erupt across multiple regions of the world.
That was the level of influence they possessed.
And because of that—
Their reputation mattered more than anything else.
Within the Imperius family itself, Jessica Evan Imperius was considered their brightest jewel.
She was revered by many of the elders.
Even Adrian Imperius rarely made major decisions without consulting her at least once.
Arthur quietly scrolled through the article while thinking about it.
Around the world there were also several smaller continents.
Most of them were uninhabitable.
Some were ruled by demons.
Some by elves.
And others by races that most humans had never even seen before.
The world was far larger and far more dangerous than most people realized.
Arthur looked at the screen again.
As for Jessica—
Just like many other members of the Imperius family, Arthur considered her nothing more than a stranger.
Someone he would simply ignore if they ever crossed paths again.
He had no intention of reconnecting with that family.
His gaze drifted toward the ceiling for a moment.
To the rest of the world—
The Imperius family was a symbol of overwhelming authority.
But to Arthur—
They were simply the people who had abandoned him.
And that was all they would ever be.
Arthur scrolled down.
----
Then suddenly—
His eyes widened.
"What?"
He almost jumped slightly in his chair.
Another headline appeared on the screen.
Blue Magic Tower attacked.
Blue Magic Tower Master severely injured.
Arthur immediately opened the article.
The report claimed that earlier today the Blue Magic Tower had been assaulted by an unknown individual.
The Blue Magic Tower Master had reportedly been gravely injured during the battle.
Several rumors were already spreading across the media.
Some people believed that the Crown family was behind the attack as revenge for what had happened to their daughter.
But according to eyewitness accounts—
Only a single person had attacked the tower.
One person had destroyed most of the Blue Magic Tower by themselves.
A vein slowly popped on Arthur’s forehead.
He lowered his phone slightly.
Then he muttered under his breath.
"She went and did it."
"Didn’t she."
Arthur rubbed his face in disbelief.
Even though he had told her not to escalate things.
He suddenly remembered something.
Earlier in the hotel, Yuna had disappeared for a short while.
She had said she needed to take care of something.
Arthur groaned.
"She was gone for only twenty minutes."
"I can’t believe she caused this much damage in just twenty minutes."
He leaned back in the chair again.
"Just how powerful is she?"
He shook his head slowly.
"A battle maniac through and through."
Then suddenly Arthur snapped his fingers.
"That’s it."
"I’ve got the perfect nickname."
A grin appeared on his face.
"The Gorilla Berserker."
He nodded proudly.
"Yes."
"It suits that monstrous strength perfectly."
Arthur folded his arms confidently.
"Honestly, I’m quite good at creating nicknames if I do say so myself."
Then suddenly—
A sweet voice spoke from behind him.
"A Gorilla Berserker huh?"
Arthur blinked.
"Looks like you really gave that some thought."
Arthur answered immediately without thinking.
"Of course I did. Didn’t you see the kind of gorilla stren—"
His voice suddenly stopped.
Slowly...
Very slowly...
Arthur turned his head.
Yuna was standing right behind him.
Her lips curved into something that could technically be called a smile.
But it did not feel like a smile.
Not even close.
Arthur’s heart instantly began beating loudly.
So loudly it felt like it might burst out of his chest.
Without hesitation Arthur suddenly stood up straight.
A wide smile appeared on his face.
"Master!"
"Where were you?"
"I was looking everywhere for you!"
"Do you know how much respect I have for you?"
Yuna tilted her head slightly.
Then she smiled sweetly.
"Arthur."
Arthur replied in a stiff tone.
"Yes Master."
"Clench your teeth."
Arthur’s smile twitched.
