How to Make the Perfect Demon Lord-Chapter 94: The Mission To Midoworld
.....
The teleportation was a success—that’s one thing out of the picture.
Jamie thought, relief loosening the tight grip worry had kept on his chest.
Slowly, wincing with every movement, he walked toward the door that seemed to be the source of the smell. With each step, the scent grew stronger—rich, warm, and almost intoxicating. It stirred a hunger inside him he never knew he had, his stomach rumbling in response, urging him to move faster.
There were other doors in the corridor too, stickers plastered on them showing what they used to be before the school was abandoned.
The laboratory.
The janitor’s office.
Faded labels clung to the peeling surfaces, remnants of a past life.
When he finally reached the door, he stretched his hand toward the knob to open it... but that’s when it hit him.
I can’t go out looking this hurt. It’ll just make me look weak.
His inner voice tried to convince him. Even though it was a valid point, that wasn’t his true intention. He just didn’t want to make the others more worried about him—a thought that revealed just how much he actually cared.
He pushed his arms against his spine, strategically flexing his muscles until—
Clack!!
Something shifted inside his spine, a sign that his prompt worked. The pain faded, though not completely—it lingered, dull and distant, like a warning he couldn’t fully ignore.
Open!!!
All eyes inside the hall turned to him as he stepped out. Four of them sat in a rough circle, perched either on desks or bent, damaged metal school chairs.
In the middle of the circle sat a pot filled with noodles and meatballs, boiling over an electric cooker beneath it. Steam rose in thick waves, carrying a rich, savory aroma that filled the room.
"Come on and dig in, these noodles are amazing you gotta try some"
The female scientist spoke, while the male scientist beside her looked at her in surprise that she was even starting a conversation. She was usually shy, so perhaps the sweetness of the noodles and the joy of completing a mission had loosened her up.
Kasa’s face wrinkled, lines forming across his forehead. Unlike the others, he seemed to be the only one not enjoying the meal.
"Please!!!! These noodles can’t compete with mine "
"Your just jealous because my noodle recipe is better that yours "
Sandra shot back, her tone playful but sharp, clearly trying to annoy him—and judging by his expression, it was working perfectly.
While the two argued, Jamie grabbed a plastic plate and scooped a large portion of the boiling noodles onto it. A fresh wave of steam burst upward, intensifying the already overwhelming smell.
"The first part of the mission is done, I need to start the second part"
Jamie’s words cut through the chatter as he began eating, quickly chugging the noodles with a white plastic fork.
Silence fell over the group. Everyone stared at him, caught off guard. And this time, Jamie noticed.
"Why are you guys looking at me like that
"
"Your not in no shape to do anything physical, for godsake you don’t even have enough strength to go to midworld
"
Sandra snapped, her voice rising like a mother scolding her child.
The next mission was for the demons to go to midworld and give the other humans a chance to escape the goddess’s grip. But the messenger couldn’t be just any demon—no one would trust them. The only option was Jamie.
And that was the first problem.
If too many demons entered midworld, it would trigger every alarm possible. They’d be stopped before they could even deliver the message. So the mission had to be done by one person—Jamie.
But in his current condition, that was a dangerous gamble.
"I am okay, my body has already recovered from the injuries am good as new"
"Fine, lemme test you then. I will contract the muscles of your back and the spinal cord, and all you need to do is not show any signs of pain"
Kasa interjected, his tone firm, completely serious.
"Wooh boundaries dude,, I know that your concerned about me, don’t get me wrong I thank you for that, but when millions of lives happiness is on the line,, my feelings don’t matter"
Those words hit harder than expected.
Sandra stood up abruptly, her chair scraping against the floor as the conversation escalated.
"But what if you dieing destroys those millions of live happiness,,, I know you see yourself like this lone wolf but guess what, your not.. every action you do has consequences, I get that. But every action you do to yourself can hurt us too "
Her voice trembled slightly, but her words were sharp.
They hung in the cold air, crushing any argument Jamie had left. He stood there, completely speechless, a half-full plate of noodles in his hands.
"Woooh Sandra, are you okay "
Kasa said, stepping in. He hadn’t spoken much, but it was clear he agreed with her. The look in his eyes said everything.
"Am fine, is just, is just that am tired with James attitude. Do you know how terribly sore your body was when you finished creating all those clones. I thought that you where dying that I kept listening to your heartbeat just to get confirmation that your alive. Sorry but I can’t get over it again"
Jamie’s expression fell, guilt weighing heavily on him. He hadn’t realized how much it affected them... or maybe he did, and just chose to ignore it.
Questions flooded his mind, shaking the very principles he lived by.
"Am sorry if I made you feel that way, and by that I mean each and everyone one of you "
He looked at the scientists, then at Kasa. The sorrow in his eyes was impossible to miss.
"And after listening to your concerns, I will take today to rest. but am sorry tomorrow I have to go to midworld"
He finished speaking—and surprisingly, everyone agreed. They nodded, tension easing as the conversation slowly drifted back to arguing about whose noodles were better.
...
Morning
The day for Jamie to go to midworld had finally arrived. After everyone rested and cleaned up, the second part of the plan was ready to begin.
But that wasn’t the only thing happening that morning.
The other demons were also preparing to return to ASTRO, including Sandra. Their mission on Earth was complete—there was no reason to stay any longer.
So for the last ten minutes, Jamie went around, hugging each of them, offering quiet words as they said their goodbyes.
"Once you finish everything, open a portal with this device. You can only use it once so becaref with it"
The male scientist handed him a small object. It looked like a keypad phone, but with fewer buttons—compact, unfamiliar, and important.
Jamie stepped onto the teleportation device.
"I got it,,, wish me luck!"
He looked at the three standing behind the scientist.
"Don’t worry Jamie, you don’t need luck, your the demon lord"
Kasa said, his eyes burning with confidence.
But as always, Jamie brushed off the praise.
"So what is going to happen to the device when you teleport"
he asked, raising a practical concern. They couldn’t risk something like that falling into the goddess’s hands.
"We will rig it to melt down, that way it gets destroyed and doesn’t hurt anyone!"
the female scientist replied confidently. She designed it, after all—she knew exactly what she was doing.
Satisfied, Jamie steadied himself on the device, his expression firm.
Truthfully, his body wasn’t fully healed. But there was progress—the soreness had reduced, and the muscle cramps no longer flared with every slight movement.
On!!
Lights flickered across the machine as it lifted slightly off the ground, humming with energy.
"Goodluck sir, may evidod be with you"
Pew—
He vanished instantly, gone as if he had never been there.
Silence took over the hall.
No one said it out loud, but the same thought lingered in all of their minds—
By going to midworld, Jamie might have just made a mistake that could ruin everything.
"Alright guys, I guess it’s our turn to go back to ASTRO"
