Rise Of The Infinite Sovereign-Chapter 362: Surprise surprise
Chapter 362: Surprise surprise
:: Automatically records the coordinates of any location transversed.
:: Through thorough analysis of Ultra-light warping, Light year acceleration, Molecular assembling and Key frame 2D dimension transportation. The ability of near instant travel has been created.
It can only be activated when appropriate coordinates are inputted, and is unusable within your universe.
Ezra was silent for a whole minute before speaking.
"Astounding"
It wasn’t just astounding.
Whilst the two new abilities weren’t built for offence, they were unlimitedly versatile.
Moreover, help maximize the use of , covering what would have been its biggest weakness.
[I’m glad you think so. The idea was inspired by dungeons]
Satisfaction could be felt in Zydrax’s voice.
"Dungeons?!" Ezra was surprised.
[Yes. I analyzed the dungeon crystals we obtained, and through it, I was able to decipher the dungeon’s method of transportation. Keyframe 2D dimension transportation]
"Hmm"
[Whilst I created the Sovereign system, I tinkered with it also, and figured that it was theoretically possible to make the function into an ability, although I wasn’t quite sure how it would function]
[Basically, dungeons acted as a hive mind. Where one central body was connected to many branches, like a tree. In the case of a dungeon, there was a dungeon with a central core, the central dungeon. It would stretch a ray of energy through a 2D dimension and exit back into the main plane and connect to any of the branch dungeons and then the ray of energy would open into pathway for transport]
[But I didn’t do it alone] he remarked. [Without help from the core, it would’ve taken many more weeks to create the skill and far less effective]
"Then I guess I must also thank the core"
the core replied.
"Haha" Ezra smiled. "I’m still very thankful"
"So, I can begin the journey into the Universe now?"
[By all means]
"Alright" Taking a deep breath, Ezra takes one last look around before initiating teleportation.
Well, he should’ve...
"Zydrax, what coordinates am I to input?"
If he’d known what coordinates to input. ƒreewebɳovel.com
[Leave that to me]
The next instant, a prompt popped up.
{Coordinates Confirmed. Confirm teleportation?}
’Yes’
Immediately, his body became immobilized.
{Immobilizing Target...Done}
Locked in space just like when the core had forcefully teleported him using light warping, but he could still move his eyes and his thinking wasn’t affected either.
So he decided to try something.
’Cancel Teleportation’
{Teleportation cancelled}
Almost instantly, the gathered energy scattered and he regained control of his body.
Taking a feel of his body, Ezra nodded.
’It would’ve been too dangerous if it couldn’t be dispelled quickly. Although, it’d be better to refrain from using this on a battlefield’
On a battlefield where life and death could be decided in seconds, initiating Teleportation-which took longer than half a minute to activate-would be painting oneself a live target.
With that settled, he reactivated the skill.
{Immobilizing target...Done}
{Space stabilized}
{Initiating Teleportation...}
Like a mirage, Ezra vanished.
----------
Two hours later, something ploughed through the pitch black darkness and entered into what was previously the Hallostar galaxy.
Now within, the thing could be made out.
A spaceship.
Embalmed in a coloration of black and red stripes, it was shaped after an arrowhead, with all its parts being metal except for the glass cover for the pilot.
Another, similar spaceship came in soon after.
Evidently, these two spaceships came together.
Coming to a stop soon after, the glass cover opened like a lid and a figure emerged from within the spaceship.
Garbed in deep blue armour contrasting his black scaly skin with a broad sword in hand, the dragon ancestor bellowed.
From the other spaceship, another entity emerged, but from the hatch this time and quickly went to the side of the first figure.
This one was a familiar figure.
"Khasavar" the dragon ancestor’s tone was calm yet steely.
The being in question, quivered.
"Are you certain this is the correct location?"
Khasavar and his ancestor, who had set off for Hallostar with due haste, had finally arrived.
The silent arrow, which was the name of the spaceship they brought along, was the fastest and not to mention most expensive spaceship the ancestor owned.
Something he ever rarely used due to its exorbitant fuel use.
The ancestor had put it into action without batting an eye and gathered a small group of his most loyal subordinates just so they could get here as fast as possible.
Indeed, they did, the core’s expectation was at least the passing of a week, yet here they were, with only a day having passed.
But what was this?! Though the ancestor held down his expectations since he’d long learned that high expectations didn’t often meet good ends, he still expected a bare minimum of a couple of thousands of planets awaiting him.
But for there to be nothing! It was incomprehensible!
Which was why he couldn’t but reiterate to his nephew.
*Gulp*
Making a hard swallow, Khasavar calmed himself and spoke.
He wasn’t some random nobody that would be petrified by fear.
"Yes" he replied. "I’m certain I inputted the right coordinates"
As one would expect for a ship like the silent arrow, one merely needs to place coordinates for it to move on its own.
"Hmm..." the ancestor calmed himself, though annoyed, placing his rage on his descendant in this situation wasn’t going to help anybody.
If so..."What happened here?"
In truth, the real reason he didn’t grill his descendant further was because he felt it as well.
That he was at the right place.
As a rank six Transcendent, he could see and sense that this place was different from the astral sea.
The Astral Sea was what the pitch black atmosphere that existed in between galaxies and galaxy clusters was called, and for a good reason too.
Normally, any space that did not have a galaxy or galaxy cluster would be awash with astral energy, but this place was not.
Rather, he could make out a very faint barrier keeping it at bay.
Whilst there was more than one explanation that could be said for such a phenomenon, when placed in conjecture with Khasavar’s report, the only plausibility was that there was a galaxy here not long ago.
With the galaxy’s barrier still working even with its absence, the galaxy couldn’t have disappeared long ago at all.
In conjecture with Khasavar’s report, the ancestor dared say it was here just a few days ago.
The ancestor’s eyes narrowed ’If that is so, where could an entire galaxy have disappeared to? And just how did it happen?’
’An Astral Beast?’ he wondered, before shaking his head.
’It doesn’t fit’
If an astral beast had attacked, the barrier wouldn’t be holding up and astral energy would have filled this space.
Not to mention that even if an astral beast capable of devouring galaxies appeared, it was nigh impossible that it would clean after himself so much that nothing but asteroids would remain.
They would have loads of planet debris all over the place.
Then, the tranquil nature. An astral beast couldn’t have caused havoc and the space would still be this stable.
At his age, he’d experienced quite a few things, but this was a first.
The ancestor held his head, the more he thought about it, the more confused he became.
’They should definitely be a galaxy here’
But surprise surprise! There wasn’t.
With nothing making sense, Milowan, the ancestor, could help but extend his imagination.
’What if it was one of the star eaters?’
These were creatures he’d only heard of in stories, but what if...
’Dammit. That’s not it!’
But the ancestor quickly cut off that line of thought.
At this point, he realized that all this was just him desperately trying to grant himself some reprieve in this helpless situation, trying to decipher what happened to what should’ve been his golden ticket to higher ranks of power and wealth. Not to mention, a much needed extension in lifespan.
Naturally, he was fuming.
From his perspective, his golden ticket had vanished right in front of his eyes.
’How did this happen?!"
JUST WHO OR WHAT HAD ROBBED HIM OF HIS GLORY?!
ROAR!
He roared, but it travelled nowhere in the expanse of space.
Khasavar moved away in haste.
After a minute of roaring, Milowan stopped, his chest heaving as he came to terms with the situation.
Another ten minutes before his senses returned to normal.
’Anyway, should I report this to the council?’
He had to think of the aftermath. Many times, aftermaths proved more crucial than the event itself.
According to the rules, he was supposed to have reported to the council the moment he knew of Halostar’s existence, but he hadn’t.
The rewards to be gained by exploring himself and reporting to the council were too far apart, so even if he went back in time, he would choose to do the same thing.
’So now, if I report to them. I’d likely get reprimanded and maybe even punished’
It was ridiculous that such things could be done to someone of his caliber, but there were far more powerful people in the council.
So he shook his head.
’Forget it. I can’t not get anything and still be punished for that. No...’ he thought of another possibility. ’They might not even believe me’
The possibility of such happening was not small.
They were bound to be suspicious of his motives regardless of what he said. Not to mention the other ancestors would definitely cause trouble for him using this as an excuse.
With this in mind, Milowan firmly decided to let this incident stay a secret.
’The problem is...’
Milowan’s gaze went to Khasavar.
As his descendent, he couldn’t kill him.
Not out of filial love or anything of the sort, but there were too many problems with Khasavar suddenly disappearing.
So he had to think of another way.
’Hmm...that could work’
Meanwhile, Khasavar was going through a multitude of emotions as well.
At the forefront was Panic!
He had staked his entire savings on this, and even borrowed not a small amount of money to procure dungeons, not to mention the price for buying so many slaves and hiring mercenaries.
All to end up with nothing.
Less than nothing, because thanks to Ezra sucking out the origin essence, an army of twenty of thousand was lost, and the disappearance of so many mercenaries was impossible to miss.
To salvage the situation, he had gone to Milowan-the weakest of the ancestors-for help.
In the first place, bringing a new partner meant the loot would be split, and with him being the weaker one, he could be sure that his share would definitely be less than half.
But what could he do? His plan had failed from the moment all the troops were lost, and with his account in the negative, he couldn’t fund any other plan on his lonesome.
So he sought a partner. As they say, half was better than none.
One powerful enough but not too powerful.
With all this in mind, he went to ancestor Milowan.
Unlike others at higher levels of power, he couldn’t use as much resources.
Meaning, no matter what, Khasavar would get more resources by partnering with him than with others when the rewards were split, and it would surely be enough to get him to Rank four at the very least.
Furthermore, as the weakest, there was no way he would alert the other ancestors. After all, why would strengthen them when he was trying to surpass them?
Although, Khasavar didn’t think up to this point.
But now what? His entire expedition turned out to be a wild goose chase!
He could only wonder how he would repay all those loans.
He couldn’t dare ask his parents, because they would ask what he used it for.
’And if my siblings find out about this...’
He shivered at the thought. If that happened, he was out of the succession race for sure, and that was just the least of it.
Just then, a voice snapped him out of his reverie.
"Khasavar"
It was the ancestor.
"Come here"
Approaching with caution, Milowan spoke.
"Khasavar. You cannot tell anyone about this"
"But ancestor-
Milowan raised his palm, Khasavar was forced to swallow his complaints.
Looking into his descendants’ eyes, Milowan continued.
"In return, you will have my personal support"
Khasavar’s eyes glimmered, but he remained calm, making calculations of his own.
’Right, ancestor must’ve discovered something. Although I don’t know why he was screaming just now’
Slowly, Khasavar responded. "What do you mean ancestor?"
"I will make you my direct disciple"
This time, Khasavar’s face morphed to express his shock.
"Ancestor, are you serious?!"
"Do I look like I would joke with such a matter?"
Immediately, Khasavar went on his knees.
"Disciple greets Master"
Milowan nodded in approval.
’At least he’s smart...or is he just greedy?’ he thought, before shrugging.
It mattered not.
Smiling, Milowan planned his next move.
Things were moving slowly, it seemed this matter might just blow over after all.
But unbeknownst to both of them, the source of their confusion was now in their own galaxy.
What could go wrong?
