Re-Birth Of A Genius. Creator/Destroyer-Chapter 1751: Transition
Sam held the two spears in his hands as he looked at the two targets.
These people are obviously much more skilled than the first few he killed so easily. But just from a glance, Sam could tell that they are not actually that strong.
As the two are trying to taunt Sam into attacking them with proud and smug looks on their faces, their companion on the back was already suppressed by Dayus in just a few seconds and was stabbed in the stomach with a spear.
But before he could die, Sam threw one of the two spears at the head of that guy stealing the kill.
Dayus furiously looked at Sam and took out a normal spear before throwing it at Sam.
The spear had purple lightning wrapped around it as it made its way through the air and made its way to Sam.
Sam threw the second spear in his hand at the target instead of blocking the one coming at him.
He dodged to the side and caught hold of the spear. And instead of forcefully grabbing it and stopping its momentum, he flew along with the spear. He used his body weight and force to make the spear make a U-turn in the air and added his own momentum with his own lightning energy as he targeted the second person among the three.
*BOOM*
The target initially tried to catch the spear like he previously did, but as the spear neared him, he understood his own limitations which made him dodge it, only it was too late before he made that decision.
So, while Dayus killed the third guy among the three, the second guy also died in Sam's hands.
Dayus finally got the breathing space he wanted. He glared at Sam angrily.
If he could, he wanted to just go to Sam and attack him with all he got, but he knew better than that. He knew that he would get his ass kicked in more than one way if he went and did that and he knew that he would be losing out a lot in points.
Even though the second one is already happening, he truly cared that the first one doesn't happen.
All he could do is grit his teeth and bear with it to find a way out.
So, he looked around at the houses nearby and ran into one of them.
Sam raised an eyebrow and took out a spear as he threw it into that house.
But at this moment, he noticed all the targets that are out on the street from his own area are gathered together as they threw their ranged attacks once again.
And this time, they are all working together. This made Sam unable to focus solely on Dayus' targets. He had to shift his focus back to the people from his side.
As he started taking them out one by one, he realized some things. People out in the open that are ready to pounce on them since the start are small fries. There is not a single ounce of difficulty when he killed them.
They are as easy as plucking flowers.
But people from within the houses are much stronger. And they are not coming unless the houses are destroyed and Sam assumed that they might come out if the surrounding small fries are taken out.
Meanwhile, the remaining players already noticed what Sam is doing, they are relieved that they are not the ones being targeted.
And while killing them, they understood what exactly is happening with the strength of these people.
The small fries are indeed much easier to take and another observation they made is that the bigger the house the more the numbers and the more the strength of people.
They initially wanted to fight in a way so that they could take on the opponents in the order of their strength, but soon they realized the people inside are not just going to sit around and wait.
The only reason they are waiting inside is not just because they are in the positions assigned to them, but also because they wanted to take their time and find the right opportunity.
So, when some of the players are suddenly attacked by the targets, they got a bit troubled by the sudden increase in their usage of energy.
They cannot replenish their energy, so they have to be careful. But everything here seems to be trying to make them spend more and more energy.
Time passed. And all this while, Sam just stayed in the sky as he killed as many targets as possible. By the end of the day, he didn't spend too much of his energy. At least compared to the rest of the players.
Because the wings are now essentially a part of his own body. Just like walking with his legs, these wings do spend some energy and of course more than walking, but it is not exactly too much of an expense.
And the spear throws didn't cost him too much energy either. They are mostly normal attacks and he used most of his physical strength most of the time than spiritual energy.
He tried to preserve as much energy as he can. Particularly, before the first transition from day to night.
As the sun slowly set. Sam stopped the attacks. Even the other players went on the defensive and didn't attack anyone else. They even took high and relatively isolated spots.
The sunset.
And as the darkness enveloped the whole city, the ruins took their shape. The spots that the players were standing on were actually the only spots that didn't change after the transition.
They noticed these spots when Osiris was giving an explanation. They observed and used that to ease themselves into the transition.
Sam and the players are anticipating a bunch of attacks from different kinds of undead as soon as the transition happened. But instead, the ruins were calm. As calm as they could be.
For five minutes, Sam had experienced a state of complete silence in a long time. It is so calm and peaceful that he could almost hear his thoughts along with his wings flapping.
And unfortunately, it only lasted five minutes. As if there was a trigger, dozens and dozens of undead started raising from the ground.
And to everyone's dismay, they saw something strange.
Over forty-five undead creatures that came out of the ground suddenly grew wings over their backs and flew into the sky.
The exact number of the targets that Sam has killed in the day mode of the city.
