Rewriting My Fate in the Apocalypse-Chapter 427: Lu Zhen’s Little Fans
Without another word, Lu Zhen created a large fire wall between the two parties who had separated temporarily when they showed up.
Feeling the high temperatures that could melt stones and metal, the other party ran backwards to avoid getting burned.
"Do you still think you have the upper hand just because you have more people?" Lu Tao asked with a cheeky smile.
He worshipped his brother’s show of dominance and was nearly dancing with his tail to the sky.
Well, if he had a tail, that was what would be happening.
"No no no no.... Please show mercy. We agree to splitting the supplies. With your strength, even if you wanted to take everything we wouldn’t stand a chance to resist. So, how could we have any objections to sharing?" One of the members of the other group who seemed to be in a leadership position said humbly.
Leng Pan hated these kinds of people the most.
They showed weakness when facing strong opponents but were ruthless when facing the weak.
If not for wanting to preserve a few more humans by the end of the apocalypse, she wouldn’t bother with such people.
Since she didn’t want too much interaction with them, she directed their group to the warehouse they had just left.
Even though there were still many canned vegetables and fruits left, they had already taken most of them.
Thus, Leng Pan’s team headed to the next warehouse.
This time, the whole team went together and no one was left behind.
She didn’t want a repeat of what just happened.
If they hadn’t heard the noise and come back in time, the members of their team at the entrance would have been wiped out.
The warehouse they entered turned out to have been used to store specially dried foods.
These were foods such as rice, pasta, meat, and others.
They were already cooked and dried using special methods and packed in vacuum bags and containers.
The difference between these types of foods and the others usually processed and canned was that they didn’t need cooking after opening.
Since they were already cooked before drying, if someone wanted to eat them they just had to pour hot water in them and they were ready to eat.
It was something similar to instant noodles.
However, unlike instant noodles where the seasoning was in a different pack and needed to be added during cooking, these packed foods were already seasoned.
They only needed hot water and one would have a fulfilling meal.
Leng Pan was surprised to find out that there was something so convenient.
How could she not have known about it before the apocalypse?
If she had, she would have added them to the list of foods to stockpile in advance.
Although she had this regretful thought, she didn’t dwell on what couldn’t be changed and joined the rest of the team in collecting the boxes of supplies scattered everywhere.
Looking at the packaging of the foods, it said that it could last for two decades if not opened and air wasn’t introduced.
"Now this is food that can help people through the apocalypse." Leng Pan commented as she packed some fallen cans in a box before putting them in the space bangle.
"That’s true. No one knows how long the apocalypse will last and if such food was available, no matter how many years it lasted, the food would probably outlive the people." Xu Man’s wife commented while also putting cans in her bag.
"Are we going to clear everything in the warehouse?" Someone asked with hesitation.
They had just agreed to split the spoils with the other team that had shown up. However, they didn’t know whether Leng Pan had been serious about that or not.
"If you can carry more, go ahead and take as much as you can. Don’t worry about others. Those people don’t have much morals anyway. If we weren’t strong enough, they wouldn’t leave us anything." Leng Pan wasn’t a saint.
If those people had agreed immediately when she suggested splitting up the supplies, she would gladly leave some for them.
However, they had been so arrogant just because they had numbers on their side.
She didn’t doubt that they had done such things before. Probably hurt others even though they found them on the site first.
So, she wasn’t obligated to keep her word.
"Okay then, we’ll take as much as we can. Anyway, supplies are dwindling fast in different places. We only found so many because this place is remote and people are afraid to come here. Soon, we probably won’t be able to find a fallen pack of noodles even in large factories." Assistant Yao said happily.
Leng Pan just shook her head and said nothing.
"You seem a little too happy for other’s misfortune." Lu Tao commented with a roll of his eyes.
"You are one to talk? I am sure if it was the boss saying this you would be applauding." Assistant Yao shot back.
"Of course, my brother could never be wrong." Lu Tao replied in a heartbeat.
With a smile, Leng Pan turned to her husband who was collecting supplies beside her.
"Your brother’s rose-tinted glasses are a little too thick aren’t they?" She asked.
"He was just telling the truth." Lu Zhen replied with a chuckle.
"Narcissist." Leng Pan couldn’t believe that her husband could say such words.
Was he still the cold and unapproachable CEO of Lu Group?
If those little fans who worshipped him and fan girls who dreamed of being his wives knew about his shamelessness, would they still see him the same way?
"I am not being narcissistic. I am just telling the truth. Besides, even if I was just being narcissistic, don’t you love me anyway?" Lu Zhen said this while winking at his wife.
Leng Pan couldn’t hold it in anymore and laughed out loud.
Since when did Lu Zhen learn to wink?
It felt as if they had gone back to the days before the apocalypse.
Such carefree days may never be seen again in this life.
