Leng Pan heard what the researcher said and fell into deep thoughts.

The aliens, the zombies... possibly even the monsters from ancient Earth.

All of those seem to be from the same source.

Just as she had suspected. Zombies and those monsters they fought in ancient earth were all the product of the aliens experimenting.

That was probably the reason they destroyed their own planet and have been trying to drive humans to extinction to occupy their planet.

However, she wouldn’t sit around and do nothing.

She was going to fight to the death if she has to.

Back on the rooftop, the sky had already darkened.

Stars slowly appeared above the ruined city.

Leng Pan leaned against the railing, finally allowing herself a moment of rest.

Her arms felt heavy, and her mind even more so.

Lu Zhen walked over from behind and wrapped his arms around her waist. Placing his chin on her shoulder as they watched the stars together.

"A penny for your thoughts?" He said seductively, blowing air into her ear and making her shudder.

They hadn’t had such intimate moments in so long she had almost forgotten how it felt like to feel Lu Zhen’s touch.

They had been moving non-stop when they went to the testing center and after that it had been battle after battle.

She smiled faintly at the familiar sensations awakening.

"I was thinking about that battle earlier." Leng Pan said, looking towards the sky where the portal had been earlier.

Lu Zhen followed her gaze, his eyes narrowing dangerously.

"Don’t worry so much." He could tell what she was thinking at a glance.

"They will not stop. Things are only going to get worse. They will keep sending stronger enemies with every team they lose." Leng Pan sighed.

She wasn’t afraid of battle. As a commander from ancient earth, she felt no fear. It’s just that unlike in ancient earth where she didn’t have a family and she avoided the man she loved to her death, in this life, she had more to lose.

Lu Zhen nodded calmly.

"That’s fine too. We are also getting stronger. Don’t worry so much." Lu Zhen said, kissing me on the cheek.

"You sound very confident, honey."

"Of course I am. It isn’t the first apocalypse we are fighting in." Lu Zhen replied with a chuckle.

Behind them, footsteps approached.

They turned around and found that it was Lu Hao who had gone to the rooftop.

"Why aren’t you resting?" Leng Pan asked with concern.

He had changed into clean clothes but still looked slightly pale from energy exhaustion.

"Oh, I am fine." Lu Hao said without much thought.

Lu Zhen glanced at him carefully.

"You used too much lightning energy today. You must rest to recover. How about going back to the space? You can absorb energy from that meteorite."

"I will, later." Lu Hao agreed to that one.

Leng Pan also thought about it and realized that she and Lu Zhen hadn’t meditated near the catalyst core in months.

It used to speed up their advancement. Now that they were completely drained from the battle, even spiritual spring water was taking time to restore their energy to the peak.

Leng Pan decided that they would go into the space bangle mansion to meditate that night.

Lu Hao looked at his hands carefully before saying, "It’s evolving."

Both Leng Pan and Lu Zhen turned toward him.

"What is evolving?" Leng Pan asked curiously.

"My power. I feel like the stronger enemies I fight, the stronger it becomes." Lu Hao said, still looking at his hands.

That was a real surprise. Fighting stronger enemies makes him stronger over time.

That was good for their base. With him around, they had a trump card they didn’t have in ancient earth.

"Then keep fighting stronger enemies." Lu Zhen patted his shoulder with a smile.

"That makes sense." Lu Hao said seriously.

Leng Pan and Lu Zhen remained on the rooftop looking at the base quietly.

The survivors slowly emerged from the underground shelters.

Children ran across the courtyard, pointing excitedly at the dragons resting on the rooftop.

Elderly residents sat together discussing the battle they had only heard from others.

Many of them kept glancing at the sky, as if expecting another portal to appear.

However, the night remained peaceful.

Seeing that everything was going back to normal, the two went back to their apartment.

They sat on the bed then Leng Pan activated the space bangle and the two disappeared from the bed.

Inside the space bangle, the two appeared outside the warehouse instead of inside the mansion.

Leng Pan wanted to check out the crops on the farm and was surprised to find that they were all ready for harvest.

Moreover, the size of the farm had doubled for some reason.

"Is it possible that the space gets bigger as I grow stronger?" Leng Pan asked in confusion.

"It’s possible. The farm appeared after you had advanced. Now that you have grown stronger and even evolved your superpower, it’s possible that another evolution has happened in the space bangle." Lu Zhen thought that what his wife said made sense.

"But when the bangle was made, it didn’t have the same function." Leng Pan said in confusion.

"Maybe you were just never able to activate it." Lu Zhen said, looking at the extra land in the bangle.

"But back then, I was even stronger than I am now." Leng Pan was even more confused.

"Well, it doesn’t matter that much. What matters is that it can help you." Lu Zhen only wanted the best for his wife. So, he was happy for her.

"That’s true. Moreover, we can grow more fresh food."

"Let’s go into the mansion to meditate for a couple of hours before going to bed." Lu Zhen urged and wrapped his arm around his wife’s waist as he led her to the mansion.
