Chapter 419: Chapter 419: Aftermath

Lu Tao finally dropped onto the ground with a heavy thud.

The boy was always dramatic but today he had held his own. He had proven that he was indeed a member of the Lu family.

There is no dragon that births a snake.

Even though he is still a teenager, he was more courageous than many grown adults.

"I can’t feel my legs anymore." He said sadly as if he had become a cripple.

Ouyang Jin laughed weakly as he sat beside him.

""Don’t worry. You will feel them soon after some rest."

Medical teams quickly rushed onto the battlefield.

Li Yunjia and Auntie Li led them personally.

"Bring the injured here!" Someone shouted from within the medical team.

It was a former doctor who had joined the base when recruitment began.

"Careful with that one!" Another one instructed, pointing to a survivor who had a large open wound on his chest.

"Use the purifying liquid first." Another doctor shouted.

Leng Pan had begun supplying them with diluted spiritual spring water to drink for recovery and clean wounds.

She had, however, told them that she produced it as part of her water ability.

She never let outsiders know about the space bangle.

Several wounded fighters were quickly treated on the spot.

Fortunately, the injuries were far fewer than expected.

Most of the battle had taken place in the air, sparing the ground forces from the worst of the fighting.

Uncle Li walked through the battlefield slowly, inspecting the damage. There was basically nothing to salvage.

If their base hadn’t been tempered by that strange stone, it would also be gone today.

Above them, the two dragons slowly descended and landed near the base.

Leng Pan, Lu Zhen, and Lu Hao stepped down quietly.

The moment they appeared, cheers erupted from the tired survivors.

"Congratulations, Commander Leng, Commander Lu. Congratulations Second young master Lu."

Even Lu Hao received loud cheers this time.

Lu Tao ran over immediately despite his exhaustion.

"Second brother!" he shouted excitedly. "That lightning thing was insane!"It looked like he had found a new target to worship.

Lu Hao blinked slightly.

He still wasn’t used to this level of enthusiasm. But he didn’t pull away.

Instead, he simply nodded.

Leng Pan looked around at the survivors.

Some were laughing while others were crying.

Others just sighed, overwhelmed by emotions.

There was also grief for those who had lost their loved ones.

No war could escape casualties. Luckily, not many died this time.

Leng Pan sighed at the sight around her.

"Let everyone rest for the next few days. Only do minimum patrols and slow down on training." she said quietly to Uncle Li

"They’ve lost their portal and their leader. They won’t attack again immediately." She continued.

Uncle Li nodded.

"That will give us time to recover."

Lu Zhen placed an arm around Leng Pan’s shoulders gently.

"You did great, Baby."

Leng Pan smiled softly.

"So did you, and everyone else."

Behind them, the setting sun painted the sky orange and gold.

Only now did Leng Pan realize that the battle had happened during the day, yet they weren’t burnt to a crisp by the sun.

It seemed that the weather was about to change again.

Extreme heat was ending.

The cheers gradually faded into tired laughter.

Victory had come, but it had not come cheaply.

The battlefield outside the base looked like a landscape torn apart by a storm. Craters scarred the ground, black scorch marks spread across broken concrete, and twisted pieces of alien armor lay scattered everywhere.

Smoke and dust still curled lazily from several impact points.

Leng Pan stood quietly for a moment, watching the survivors celebrate while they helped clean up the battlefield.

She cleared her throat and instructed, "Clean up crew, start collecting alien remains," she continued. "Research team, prepare containment equipment. Medical team, focus on the seriously injured first."

"Yes." They replied quickly and began reorganizing themselves.

Several fighters began carefully collecting the alien corpses scattered across the battlefield. Unlike zombies, alien bodies were still valuable for research.

They had already been studying their structure. Now they had even stronger specimens.

Nearby, Lu Tao had dragged two alien bodies together and was crouching beside them like an excited child examining toys.

"Look at this armor," he muttered while tapping the dark surface. "This thing is tougher than tank plating."

Ouyang Jin walked over and kicked one of the broken armor lightly.

"It didn’t look so tough when your second brother punched through it."

Lu Tao grinned.

"That’s because my second brother is a monster."

Lu Hao, who was standing a few steps away, blinked at the comment but didn’t respond.

Inside the base, the underground parking area had already turned into a temporary medical center.

The hospital inside the building didn’t have enough space for the injured.

Rows of injured fighters were laid on makeshift beds.

Li Yunjia moved quickly between them giving instructions.

She restored the aura she had when she ruled the business world.

"Careful, lift his arm slowly." She instructed a volunteer who was helping in cleaning wounds.

Auntie Li followed closely behind her, handing over diluted spiritual spring water and bandages.

She also helped in injecting some wood essence into those on the verge of death and needed some vitality to pull through.

As long as a survivor didn’t die during the battle and they had some breath left, the team did everything they could to save them.

Whenever the spiritual water touched an injury, the healing speed visibly improved.

Some fighters watched in amazement as deep cuts began knitting together within minutes.

"It still feels like magic," one young fighter whispered.

Li Yunjia chuckled softly.

"Then don’t waste it by getting injured again." She interacted with them like family.

The young man laughed weakly.

The alien corpses were carefully laid on metal tables on the other side.

One of the researchers examined the crystalline core extracted earlier.

"Still the same structure," he said thoughtfully.

The crystal core was similar to the ones Leng Pan and her team who had gone to the testing center had brought back.

"Energy concentration similar to zombie crystal cores, but far denser." The researcher added.
