Rewriting My Fate in the Apocalypse-Chapter 403: Rescuing The Brothers
Both Lu Tao and Lu Hao were suspended in the air with chains as thick as a child’s arm. They were spread like frogs waiting for slaughter between two pillars each.
The open ground of the stadium was filled to the brim with zombies and now Leng Pan didn’t need to wonder where all those zombies went.
What surprised her even more was the fact that the zombies were standing there without showing any intention to attack them.
How was it possible that zombies could watch humans placed in front of them without making a move?
Leng Pan looked around and finally noticed what was going on. Standing below the pillars were several people. Well, she couldn’t be sure whether they were human or aliens but whatever they were, they weren’t friendly.
One of them lavitated high in the air and spoke clearly in human language.
"If you want to save these two, hand over all the supplies you have and all those modified humans. We will allow you to leave."
Both Leng Pan and Lu Zhen looked at what was happening and stayed silent.
They scanned the stadium and discovered more aliens lying in ambush around the stadium.
Even if they gave the supplies and surrendered those modified humans, these aliens never planned to let them go. But Leng Pan wondered how they had set a trap for them when they didn’t even know about their presence. Unless AA or those aliens who had been electrocuted to death sent a message without them noticing.
In that case, there was no need to feign politeness.
"Everyone, get ready, kill everything that moves. Don’t show mercy or you will become their food." Leng Pan ordered as mist began to rise around her.
"Are you ignoring my warning or do you really think I don’t dare to kill them? These two must be very important, right? If you don’t do as told, I will order for their limbs to be cut off and fed to the zombies here." The lavitating alien spoke again.
"Maybe if you show your ugly true self I might be overcome with sympathy because of your ugliness and give you some beautifying concoctions. How about it?" Leng Pan had no plans of negotiating with the aliens but that didn’t mean that she couldn’t make fun of them.
"Are you courting death? You might be strong, but not everyone in your team is and right now, we have your people in our hands." Another alien lavitated to stand next to the first one.
"Shoud I thank you then? You kidnapped my younger brothers and use them to threaten me, but who are you trying to threaten really?" Leng Pan asked arrogantly.
As she spoke, the mist she had released floated near the ground between aliens and zombies to the area below Lu Tao and Lu Hao. Then, it climbed the pillars and surrounded the two without anyone noticing.
It formed a protective layer around the two. As Leng Pan argued with the aliens and stalled for time, she released another wave of mist that followed the same path as the first one.
Right behind that, the plant Lu Zhen had tamed for her turned into a palm sized vine and crawled on the ground to the place where the two brothers were tied.
Several vines as thin as a hair stretched from the vine on the ground and wrapped around the two.
At the same time, the second layer of mist condensed into liquid and circled the chains tying Lu Tao and Lu Hao.
"Then I will cut them into pieces and feed them to the zombies. Let’s see if your mouth is still so tough after that." The first alien said angrily and turned to look at the two tied in the back. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶
At that moment, the mist condensed into liquid corroded the chains through causing them to snap and fall.
Just as the alien was about to attack, the vines attached to the two shot through the horde of zombies with the two brothers raised with invisible vines several meters high, ensuring that the zombies couldn’t reach them.
The vine dropped them next to Lu Zhen and retracted the small vines, returning to its earlier small size and jumped to camp on Leng Pan’s shoulder.
"So, you were stalling for time to save them?" The alien turned to face Leng Pan again.
"Otherwise? Do you really think you are that fun to talk to?" Leng Pan asked with contempt, which seemed to tick off the the aliens and one of them turned into their original monstrous appearance.
When the others saw this, they also changed to their original appearance and soon even among the zombies, aliens appeared.
Both Leng Pan and Lu Zhen realized that a battle was about to break out. Leng Pan turned around to face her teammates and ordered, "Fight and kill as many as you can, but if possible, don’t risk your life. Call out for help if you feel overwhelmed."
After giving instructions, Leng Pan turned to the front and realized that Lu Hao was already in the middle of the zombie horde, fighting like a killing machine.
It made her wonder how he had been caught in the first place.
However, she didn’t have the time to wonder as both zombies and aliens joined the frenzied battle.
"Go." Leng Pan ordered and her previously floating water dragon seemed to have awakened.
It dived into the zombie horde and whenever it’s mouth opened, countless zombies were swallowed.
Lu Zhen’s dragon also followed suit and either swallowed zombies and aliens, or spat out crimson red flames that burned everything in its path in seconds.
Because of the large number of zombies, there wasn’t enough space to launch long-range atta ks, so Leng Pan and Lu Zhen both made swords from their spiritual power and began slashing down the zombies that came close.
Their teammates also joined the fight and the battle became a myriad of colors. Those with wood energy were shooting green light from their palms. Those with fire superpower like Lu Zhen shot out fire balls.
Chaos ensued as the battle became intense.
