Rewriting My Fate in the Apocalypse-Chapter 393: Drowning Aliens
Finally, his neighbors couldn’t take it and broke into his house and beheaded his wife.
His wife was the main reason he joined the program because he thought that if he didn’t have any emotions, he wouldn’t feel the pain of losing his beloved.
But obviously he was wrong. The best way to honor his wife was to remember their shared times together and fight to build a world where given another chance, his wife would survive.
He hadn’t expected to make the mistake of helping those who took his wife from him.
"Humans are low-grade beings. Even if they are completely eliminated, their survival and existence is insignificant. So, it doesn’t matter." AA said this, completely infuriating everyone there.
So, to the aliens, humans were as insignificant as ants and whether they survived or went extinct, it was of no consequence.
This statement both shocked and bred hatred for aliens. Even those modified humans felt their sensories go through the roof and the carefully programmed emotion suppression nodes collapsed.
All their emotions came rushing back like a tide.
Soon, the reception room was filled with wails of people overcome by grief and others simply unable to take the emotional outburst fainted.
Leng Pan had her teammates help them back into the lounge to rest.
"Well, since those aliens don’t respect the sanctity of human life, then they can become fertilizer for our planet.
It will need to be fertile when we eliminate all the aliens and zombies and start growing food again." Leng Pan said before turning those small, thin water threads into faucets.
She began flooding the underground base those aliens had hidden in.
While at it, she observed their movement and realized that they were trying to access an elevator and leave the underground hiding area.
But, of course, Leng Pan wasn’t going to allow that. So, she targeted the electric cables she had used to follow and locate the place.
She made sharp knives and cut the cables before surrounding them with water, causing them to short-circuit and become useless.
Now, nothing related to electricity worked in that place. Seeing that water was still filling the whole space with it already reaching the knees of an adult, they opted to use the hidden staircase.
Unfortunately, just as they reached for the door, a thick block of ice completely attached to the wall blocked it, both on the inside and outside.
Now, they couldn’t leave even if they wanted to.
They began attacking the ice to unblock the door, but for some reason, they couldn’t even create a dent in it.
This actually surprised even Leng Pan herself.
She didn’t remember her ice created using her ability being so tough.
AA realized that his connection with the basement had been cut.
"What did you do?" He asked Leng Pan.
Since she was the one who found the aliens, she must have cut their connection.
"Oh, nothing much, I am just drowning them." Leng Pan said it so lightly it sounded creepy.
How could you talk about drowning others as if it was nothing but a fart?
""Your efforts are futile. There are more testing centers like this one and will succeed. Humanity cannot survive on its own." AA said.
But no one was paying attention to it.
"Look around this place and take any supplies you find.
Even electric equipment, Little Tao, check the machines out to make sure there are no bugs or something that could be used to track us, then take them with us.
Their technology is more advanced and the materials used to make them might be helpful for your creations.
When you find the room with the DNA testing equipment let me know." Leng Pan instructed her teammates and they dispersed.
She remained where she was, still observing AA and flooding the underground.
She was actually surprised she could make so much water in one sitting.
The underground base was not just a single room, it was an entire network of rooms and all of them were filled with water.
Leng Pan realized that even if their base expanded, she would be able to supply everyone with drinking water everyday.
She had never tested her ability to see how far she could go. So, she thought this was a good way to understand the extent of her ability.
Once the underground was completely flooded and the aliens were struggling to create a vacuum space around them to prevent themselves from drowning while also looking for a way out, Leng Pan stopped.
But she didn’t stop observing them. Aliens were cunning creatures and she didn’t know whether they had a back up plan.
If there was another escape route, she would take action and seal it immediately.
It turned out she was overthinking.
They had been too overconfident when building so, apart from the elevator and the staircase, there wasn’t another way to escape.
As they were drained of energy and could no longer keep the vacuum space around them anymore, all the aliens ungrounded drowned to death.
Observing this, Leng Pan wished their base had a research center. She could have taken the bodies back for experiments to see if they could deduce a faster way of dealing with the aliens.
Unfortunately, one couldn’t be too greedy
It was already okay that she could kill them.
"What do you think about the other testing centers?" Lu Zhen asked Leng Pan as he grabbed her hand once she was done flooding the underground.
"Let’s see if we find any information about them here, then we will find a way to destroy them." She replied with a sigh.
"That’s a start. At least now we know of their existence, so we can plan ahead." Lu Zhen comforted his wife when he saw that she was in a low mood.
"Yeah. Let’s go into the lounge. I need to meditate and recover to my peak just in case a battle broke out later." Leng Pan suggested.
She didn’t know if there were reinforcements nearby, so she had to be careful.
"Sure." Replied Lu Zhen before pulling his wife into the lounge.
