Rewriting My Fate in the Apocalypse-Chapter 392: The Aliens in the Testing Center
Some of them, like the woman earlier, looked like a mountain was crushing on them. She dropped on one knee with a twisted expression.
Others remained standing, but also experienced a certain degree of pain.
Leng Pan, of course, wasn’t going to allow that to happen.
She stepped forward and immediately formed a sword with water before slashing at AA.
Of course, the humanoid was stronger than it looked.
Soon, a full-blown battle ensued in that room.
Leng Pan didn’t want to implicate her teammates and she needed a bigger space to fight. So, she moved backwards as she fought with AA pretending that he was pushing her with his strength.
Once outside the door, she closed it with a wave of a hand and concentrated fully on the battle.
"You shouldn’t have turned those people into some robots who feel nothing. You are just using them as a weapon against humanity." Leng Pan said as she spun around building pressure with water before pushing her hands forward.
The water she had made and pressurized shot towards the humanoid like a cannon, it set up an invisible barrier to block the attack and to Leng Pan’s surprise, it did block the attack.
Luckily, she was a seasoned fighter and never underestimated her enemies. Thus, she had used that attack as a cover for the tiny hundreds of knives hidden within the water.
As it hit the barrier, Leng Pan increased the speed of the knives inside, and while the humanoid focused on the huge water circle attacking it, the knives easily penetrated the barrier and pierced its skin.
Within one second, its movements slowed down and came to a stop. This was because even though it looked human and could think independently, it wasn’t human at all.
It was a machine made using high technology and covered in human skin.
Thus, the effect water has on robots and other electric machines was the same.
"Why are you stopping me from resetting them? They can help in the newly built world." AA said after losing his fighting ability.
With the commotion caused by the fight having stopped, those inside the lounge opened the door and came out.
They found that the previously neat and clean reception and corridor was now filled with debris and dirt.
Walls had collapsed during the battle and dust flew everywhere.
Chairs and tables were split apart and others overturned. It was total chaos.
"These people are not meant for building a new world, they are meant to end humanity. Stop with the pretense." Leng Pan said with an expression that said she knew everything.
As expected, the humanoid fell for it.
"You found out?" AA asked.
It was a smart technology, but it didn’t completely understand the human brain. So, such a small trick worked.
In fact, during the fight, Leng Pan had used the chaos as a cover to investigate the building further. She spread thin and undetectable water threads not just on the third floor, but the others in the building as well.
And just to be careful, she followed the power cables hidden within the walls. Moving the water threads beside the cables led her into the hidden spaces that were never meant to be found.
And what she had found deep under the building was unsettling.
"Of course, I found out. You didn’t hide it that well." Leng Pan said and as expected, she felt movement below the building.
"How did you find them?" AA suddenly asked.
The others couldn’t understand what he and Leng Pan were talking about.
They were just fighting, what did they mean by found them?
"I was wondering when you would stop pretending that this was a completely humanitarian affair." Leng Pan said sarcastically.
"Panpan, what does that mean?" Lu Zhen asked his wife, puzzled.
The others were in the dark as well, including those modified humans.
"There is a nest of aliens below this building." She said solemnly.
"What?!!" Surprised voices echoed in the newly remodeled reception area.
"This is no testing center, it is a breeding ground for aliens. They are modifying humans into what you call adaptable beings with no emotional control, but in fact, they are just creating future slaves.
If humans don’t have emotions, even if they are turned into working horses and donkeys, they wouldn’t care about fighting back.
Now, the reason humans risk their lives to go out and kill zombies is because they have feelings for this world and want to protect it.
They don’t even care if they die doing it. However, if they lacked any emotions or desires, they wouldn’t want to do anything.
Even if their own families vanished in front of them, they would have no emotional response.
Therefore, humans can be easily controlled and turned into slaves in their own world.
Isn’t that right?" Leng Pan explained before turning to ask AA.
"They are just looking for survival. Earth is the most suitable planet apart from theirs." AA said.
This simple statement confirmed everything Leng Pan had said. The modified humans were nothing but slaves created with their own consent.
They had thought that they were helping the human race by agreeing to the program, but as it turned out, it was just a trap.
"What about us humans? This is obviously our home but they are displacing us and getting rid of humans just so that they could seize our home.
How is that acceptable?" A man among the modified ones asked angrily.
He had volunteered for the program because his wife had died during the first wave.
She had turned into a zombie and he had even tied her up, hoping that something would change and she would turn back. But even after cutting himself and draining blood into bowls to feed her, nothing changed.
She continued to rot and her flesh was falling off and smelling like a corpse in less than a day.
She would roar and growl all the time, giving him no peace.
Sorry guys about the last few days. I hurt my hand and it still hurts but I am forcing myself to write. I hope you understand me.
