Rewriting My Fate in the Apocalypse-Chapter 381: Taking Precautions

Both Leng Pan and Lu Zhen launched an attack at the obvious alien at the same time.

It was as if they shared the same thought as Leng Pan created a tunnel made from pressurized water molecules and Lu Zhen launched a fire ball inside the tunnel at high speed.

The pressure from the water tunnel coupled by the high speed the fire ball was launched at made the fire ball shoot at the alien at an impossible velocity.

If the fire ball had been launched by Lu Zhen alone, the alien would have been able to escape or at least, move to the side to avoid it. However, with the combined attack, there was simply no time to even think about avoiding it.

Thus, the fire ball blasted into the alien and pushed it hundreds of meters away and by the time it landed on the ground, it was half burnt.

Lu Zhen followed after it to completely eliminate it while Leng Pan went to wake up the team members who had been knocked unconscious.

She spread her spiritual spring water mist around the area, melting all the zombies that had walked into the vicinity.

She then walked over and untied the people on the ground before splashing them with water and waking them up.

When they opened their eyes, the teammates were all surprised.

They found themselves disoriented and lying on the ground.

"What happened?" One of them asked, looking around but only saw Leng Pan standing over them.

"Commander Leng, didn’t you leave already?" Another one asked curiously.

"If I hadn’t returned, you guys would be on your way to Alienland. Wherever that is." Leng Pan said, somewhat angrily.

"What do you mean?" Another one asked as they helped each other stand up.

"After I left, I felt that something was off about your leader, so I decided to follow my gut feeling and came back and thank the heavens I did.

I found you all tied up with your ’leader’ standing over you and calling for zombies to come and carry you away." Leng Pan explained.

"But our leader is right here, and he seemed to have been tied up too." One of the team members pointed out.

"What the commander means is that the person who was talking to her before wasn’t the real leader but an imposter who knocked us out and was planning to take us away for whatever they need humans for.

That means that the leader had been missing from before and had been replaced but none of us noticed." The person explained.

"What? All that time we were fighting, were we fighting together with an alien?" Another member asked with goosebumps rising from her skin.

"Maybe yes, maybe no." Leng Pan replied before turning to the leader.

"Do you remember when you were replaced?" She asked.

"Probably when we were starting the battle. I asked the others to start fighting and I would watch their rear to avoid any surprise attacks from hurting them.

But then as they walked in front, I felt my consciousness go dark and I don’t remember anything else until now when you woke us up." The leader explained.

"It seemed that you were knocked out at that time and the alien probably hid you back in the store then replaced you and joined the battle.

But how did it hide you? I checked the store before and didn’t see anyone there." Leng Pan wondered out loud.

"Because my superpower is camouflage. I might have accidentally activated it when I was knocked out because I sensed danger. But obviously it didn’t work on the alien." The leader explained.

"Probably because you were already in its hands. You cannot camouflage something already in your hands.

The alien also knew where it had hidden you, so finding you after we left wasn’t a problem even if your superpower was activated." Lu Zhen came back just in time to hear his wife’s muttering and the leader’s explanation.

"Have you taken care of it?" Leng Pan asked.

"Yes. This one was a little more advanced than the last one. But this town is dangerous, we should round up everyone and stay together.

We will worry about supplies later." Lu Zhen suggested and no one objected.

They all picked up the bags they had filled with supplies and left.

Leng Pan led them back to the building where Lu Tao and the others were still waiting.

Just like when they entered, a path separated by spiritual mist was created and the group entered the building.

The ice wall was melted and erected once again after they were safe inside.

After introducing the two groups, Leng Pan and Lu Zhen left through the window once more to go and look for Juan Ke’s group.

They were now worried about aliens killing their teammates and replacing them and they wouldn’t even know.

It would be a disaster if they brought aliens back into the base without knowing.

The two didn’t look for long before locating the other group.

This one was lucky and hadn’t encountered a trap.

They had also filled their bags with supplies and had even made some makeshift carts and we’re pulling two of them filled with energy drinks and other types of carbonated drinks.

This was a feast in the current world where finding a bottle of water was an issue.

Now that they had something different other than the water the superpower users provided them with, they were almost celebrating.

"You guys are lucky, huh?" Leng Pan asked when they met.

"It was just a stroke of luck. The kids back at the base will celebrate." Juan Ke said with a laugh.

The others also were happy and you couldn’t even see one person with an unhappy face.

It was like they were indeed happy to bring something back for the kids.

"Alright, let’s go and meet with the others." Leng Pan said and led the way.

She didn’t want to give any alien a chance to sneak in.

To prevent the previous situation, Lu Zhen walked at the back while Leng Pan led the way.
