Rewriting My Fate in the Apocalypse-Chapter 375: Entitlement
Leng Pan and her group had only walked for about five minutes when they heard a scream.
It was coming from the opposite direction of where they were heading. Leng Pan thought about whether one of her group members had headed in that direction but the other two groups had gone in different directions.
So, the person screaming was definitely not one from her team.
She turned to her brother-in-law who got the message and immediately activated his super vision and hearing.
Soon, Leng Pan knew what was going on.
"There is a group of survivors in that direction hiding in a half-collapsed building.
The building is surrounded by zombies and they can’t leave.
They seem to have been trapped there for a few days and are running out of food and water.
One of the girls seems not to understand the apocalypse because she is ordering others around and asking them to go out and look for food for her.
She is acting like an entitled young miss. The person who just screamed was one of the teammates, or rather from what I just gathered, the girl’s half-sister.
She seems to be used to her sister’s entitled personality but this time round she stood her ground and refused to leave the building because even a blind person can tell that if she stepped out, she won’t be coming back.
Her sister doesn’t seem to care and attempted to push her outside.
That’s how the scream came about.
Others are trying to persuade the arrogant girl to stop causing trouble but she is causing even more trouble." Lu Tao spoke in one breath and relayed all the information he had gathered.
"Why are they indulging her? They should just leave her behind." Leng Pan muttered under her breath, but her brother-in-law with super hearing still heard her.
She keeps saying that she will report them to her dad once they go back and apparently, her father has a high position in the base they live in and they are afraid of crossing him because their families would suffer.
So, they can only put up with her attitude." Lu Tao explained.
"Isn’t that the kind of people we are looking for? People with families to protect and who would do anything to ensure their safety?
If we offer them an olive branch, do you think they will take it?" Leng Pan turned to her husband and asked.
"They will. At least with us they won’t have to lose their dignity for a safe place to live with their families." Lu Zhen replied.
"Then what are we waiting for? Let’s get going before more zombies surround them and make it impossible to escape.
With that scream earlier, it would be a miracle if all the zombies in this town didn’t gather there." Leng Pan instructed and immediately changed direction.
They turned and headed in the opposite direction at high speed.
Soon, they saw a mass of zombies surrounding a building and they didn’t have to look for the team boxed in.
"Should we kill the zombies outside first?" One of the new members asked Leng Pan.
"Of course not. What if we kill the zombies and those people just get an opportunity and walk away?
We have to make sure they agree to join us first before we save them." Leng Pan explained.
"But how do we do that when we are here and they are locked inside the building?" The other teammate asked.
"Don’t worry about that." Leng Pan replied before creating a mist that started moving forward as if it had a consciousness of its own.
Wherever the mist touched, the zombies were vaporized.
It also created two walls in the place the zombies were cleared, creating a clear path.
Without a word, Leng Pan stepped into the path that led straight to the front door of the building.
The door was locked and barricaded with a lot of furniture, but this was nothing to Leng Pan or Lu Zhen.
Leng Pan stepped aside and Lu Zhen, who had been in the rear protecting everyone, walked to the front.
A ball of flames appeared in his palm and the lock melted.
After the door was unlocked, he pushed it backwards and all the furniture barricading it moved along with the force.
Those inside the building were scared out of their minds thinking that the zombies had broken through.
They ran to the window of the second floor where they were hiding and watched as zombies stood to the side like statues while humans pushed the door open and walked in like the lock and furniture were nothing.
"What are they doing? Are they trying to get us all killed?" The entitled girl shouted hysterically when she witnessed what Lu Zhen’s group had done.
"Shut up." Her half-sister, who always seemed calm and cowardly, said through clenched teeth and gave her a slap.
That was the first time she had ever opposed her. And it shocked the girl so much that she forgot to speak.
Once all the members of Leng Pan’s group entered the building, Leng Pan erected a thick wall of ice, completely barricading the door to prevent the zombies from getting inside, then withdrew the mist from outside.
As soon as the mist was withdrawn, the zombies returned to the door and began pounding on it again.
Only this time, it was more solid than before and didn’t even shake with the wall of ice remaining in place.
Lu Tao walked in front of the others and headed to the second floor where those people were hiding.
He had already scanned the building and knew that apart from these people, there wasn’t anyone else there.
There were some bodies lying in different floors of the building, which he assumed had been killed by zombies, or these people when they occupied the building.
After watching how strong Leng Pan and her team were, the people on the second floor didn’t bother locking the door to hide.
The entitled girl seemed to realize that the situation wasn’t that good and kept quiet.
I didn’t think I would make it today because of how bad I am feeling, but Yay!!! I managed.
