Rewriting My Fate in the Apocalypse-Chapter 374: Aliens’ Ability To Control Zombies
The water poured like heavy rain that showed no mercy.
Leng Pan had those fighting close by to retreat before she expanded the area the rain could reach.
As she watched the zombies pelted by the rain with their rotten flesh falling off the bones, she was overjoyed.
This wasn’t as effective on zombies as it was on humans, and probably aliens too.
Zombies were basically dead bodies and they didn’t have pain receptors.
So, even when all the flesh had fallen off their bodies, their skeletons kept moving.
However, the spiritual zombie seemed different from the rest.
It screamed when the hot water touched its skin.
What surprised Leng Pan even more was that the flesh on the spiritual zombie wasn’t rotten like that of the others. Instead, it was ashen in color, which gave it a deathly feeling without looking exactly like a zombie.
As more hot water poured from the sky, the zombie screamed louder and eventually couldn’t hold on and it turned into an ugly green monster without a distinguishable face.
That’s when Leng Pan realized that the so-called spiritual zombie was actually an alien in disguise.
However, she was surprised that the aliens could command zombies so effortlessly.
The scene also shocked the others who had been fighting in the outer circle while still observing what Leng Pan was doing.
Without a second thought, Lu Zhen charged towards the alien who had just transformed back and launched a large fire ball at it.
The moment the fire ball touched the alien, it started burning to ashes part by part.
Lu Zhen hadn’t engulfed it in flames completely. He had launched a ball the size of a foot ball and the fire spread according to his will.
He could control the fire as if it had spirit, so the alien couldn’t burn to ashes immediately even if it wanted to. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖
"Who are you and why are you able to command the zombies?" Lu Zhen asked coldly.
The alien looked defiantly at him and remained silent.
"I know you can understand me, so don’t play dumb. How can you command zombies?" Lu Zhen asked while intensifying the heat of the fire while making sure it won’t burn the alien too much, but the pain was multiplied.
The battle around them had become chaotic with the zombies having no one to instruct them and simply following instinct.
It made it easier for the team to eliminate them.
Those that had turned into skeletons met with Lu Zhen’s fire and immediately turned into ashes with only the crystal cores falling to the ground.
"The gas that created zombies was created by us. So, of course we can control zombies." The alien finally broke and decided to speak.
This was something that Leng Pan and Lu Zhen already knew, but the others were surprised to find out that the zombie outbreak was actually as a result of aliens releasing a bioweapon that spread in the air.
It was heartbreaking thinking of their families and friends who had mutated because of this simple decision.
Their resolve to eliminate all the aliens from earth only grew stronger.
"Can all aliens control zombies?" Lu Zhen asked again.
If all the aliens had the ability to control zombies, then the situation would be scary.
"No, only a handful have the gift to control the zombies.
It’s inborn and cannot be acquired." The alien replied, causing everyone to sigh in relief.
It was good as long as not every alien could control an army of zombies.
Once Lu Zhen got the answer he wanted, he didn’t delay the inevitable anymore in case the alien had a way to contact others and they were exposed.
So, he immediately covered it with flames and it was gone within seconds.
Once the battle ended, the team spent the next thirty minutes collecting the crystal cores they had harvested.
They were surprised to find that they had killed over ten thousand zombies in such a short time.
Well, luckily, they had Leng Pan and Lu Zhen who could incinerate hundreds of zombies at once.
After all the crystal cores were collected, the team decided to split up and search the two. In this way, they would cover more ground.
"Take the smoke signals Ouyang Jin gave you. In case you encounter danger you cannot solve, launch a smoke signal into the air and Ah Zhen and I will be there soon.
Just try to hold on long enough for us to arrive.
However, don’t go into danger when you know you might get trapped.
No matter what supplies you see, nothing is more important than your life, so be careful and put your safety first." Leng Pan instructed after they decided to split into three teams of five people each.
Like always, Lu Tao insisted on sticking to his brother, and another two newly recruited team members joined as well.
So Lu Zhen’s team had his brother and wife, and two new members.
Juan Ke also led another team and the last was led by a mature woman who had joined the base to protect her ten-year-old son.
She had joined Juan Ke’s team after realizing that he didn’t discriminate against women or men, young or old.
He trained all of them with the same intensity. Since she wanted to get stronger so that she could protect her son, she didn’t hesitate to join Juan Ke’s team.
She didn’t have any superpowers, but she was now stronger than some of the superpower users out there.
People within the team respected her a lot. So, when she was chosen to lead the last group, no one objected.
"Alright, move out and be careful. Also, if you spot a vehicle in good condition that can be used to carry supplies, please notify us.
We should take as many supplies as we can, but don’t sweep everything clean. Leave something for other survivors who might stumble upon this place." Leng Pan instructed once more before pulling Lu Zhen in one direction.
The three groups headed in different directions and began searching for supplies from shop to shop, house to house.
