Chapter 352: Chapter 352: A New Disaster

With someone mentioning it, Leng Pan realized that she had unconsciously taken off her coat.

Even though she had the water ability, and her tolerance of heat seemed higher than others, she could still tell that the temperature was changing rapidly.

The others also began taking off their outer coats because the heat was starting to become unbearable.

Lu Zhen did seem to be too affected, probably because of his fire superpower.

However, he also took off all the clothes meant to keep him warm and was only left with a shirt.

It had been a few days since the snow stopped falling and the sun began shining.

The gloomy weather marked by white of snow and grey was clearing fast, giving way to a sunny atmosphere.

"Everyone, turn off the heaters in all the rooms and plug in the freezer and other electronics that can help in cooling.

We will also need the air conditioning soon, so be sure to check it and make sure it wasn’t ruined by the cold weather.

I think by tomorrow morning, the sun will be unbearable and the heat will be enough to dehydrate any creature." Leng Pan remembered the extreme heat they had experienced in the last apocalypse and she felt a shiver run down her spine.

As the night became deeper, the heat went down and they needed blankets to cover themselves to sleep comfortably.

However, Leng Pan knew that this was just an illusion.

The next day, whoever dared to underestimate the heat would be in big trouble.

"Baby, when do you think we should go get the testing equipment?" Lu Zhen asked his wife after they went to bed.

Leng Pan was laying in his arms docile like a contented cat that had eaten fish.

She seemed to have become so used to Lu Zhen’s closeness that she could barely fall asleep without him by her side now.

"Once the water dries, we will leave for the testing center.

With the way the heat is knocking, I assume that it won’t take more than two days for all the ice to melt and maybe a few more days for all the melted water to dry completely.

So, I am sure we won’t have to wait for long.

We can also see if there are other useful supplies on the way to the testing center." In fact, after listening to Uncle Li, the test didn’t seem so urgent anymore.

In fact, it was quite unnecessary. But since they had already planned to do it, they would just take it as another trip to train.

There were aliens now within humans and zombies. It was also a good time to go out and investigate the extent to which the aliens had invaded the planet.

Although they could only survey the places they go to, it could also give them a picture of what was going on.

"Alright, we’ll do as you say. Let’s take a small team and leave the other members behind to do some clean up." Lu Zhen didn’t care much about where he went as long as his wife accompanied him.

"That’s great. Indeed this place will need a lot of cleaning once the water dries up.

No one knows how many things are buried under the ice now.

There must be zombies, humans, and even animals. So, we have to be careful." Leng Pan already felt overwhelmed even though this was only the third disaster starting.

She could imagine how tired physically and mentally everyone would be as the disasters kept coming one act another.

Unfortunately, she had no way of stopping them unless the apocalypse ended.

As they discussed what action to take later, the two drifted off to sleep.

Leng Pan kicked the blanket and struggled in vain to leave Lu Zhen’s arms.

Her body felt as if someone had set it on fire or as if she was getting boiled in a pot filled with hot water.

Her brows furrowed, she kept making moaning sounds while trying to leave the embrace that made her even hotter.

Lu Zhen had gotten used to sleeping with his wife in his arms, so even though the heat was killing him, he still refused to let go.

He had always subconsciously refused to believe that Leng Pan had finally accepted him after two lifetimes and was already his.

He needed constant physical contact to confirm this fact, something that was proving very uncomfortable at that moment.

Lu Zhen slowly opened his eyes and looked at the little woman struggling in his arms.

She was so beautiful even when her brows were furrowed and covered in sweat.

Even though they had kicked the blanket aside, they were still wearing warm pajamas meant for cold weather.

Seeing Leng Pan keep struggling, yet refusing to wake up, a smile appeared on Lu Zhen’s face as he lowered his head and planted a light kiss on her forehead.

He then let her go and got up from the bed only to find that all his clothes were soaked in sweat.

He got out of bed and opened the side drawer. There was a thermometer there meant to measure the temperature in the atmosphere.

They had used it to record the progress of the extreme cold and now looking at the constantly rising number on the screen, Lu Zhen sighed.

It had been far below zero degrees when they woke up the day before, but this morning, the temperature was already crossing thirty degrees.

It was close to a miracle how much the temperature had changed in just one night.

Lu Zhen picked up the watch placed on the bedside table and checked the time.

Even though there was no longer the internet, and probably most of the satellites had crashed, watches could still tell time accurately.

The watch showed that it was still early in the morning.

At five in the morning, the sun was already peeking through the cuts in the windows.
