Chapter 351: Chapter 351: Hao’s Origin

During dinner that night, Leng Pan told the rest of the family what had happened and about Hao.

"He looks pure and even though it seems that he has alien DNA, he isn’t a threat to humans.

Ah Zhen and I agreed to perform a DNA test before letting him out to determine the relationship he might have with him.

So, you guys have to be prepared. Maybe you all have an alien as a relative." Leng Pan made a joke of the situation, lightening the mood at the dining table.

"If it really was created using our family’s DNA, then there is more to what happened in that lab decades ago.

I don’t believe that my father or grandfather would have taken the initiative to do experiments on our family.

Unless something significant happened that forced them to act." Li Yunjia had absolute trust in her elders.

They had protected the country fiercely and would never take part in any operation that would hurt the people.

With her statement, everyone thought that she made sense. There was no way the Li family would get involved in such despicable actions.

This could be seen in the way Li Han didn’t hesitate to burn the place to the ground when he found out about the experiments taking place in the underground lab during his station there.

"You don’t have to keep guessing. I know what happened." Uncle Li suddenly said, causing everyone to turn quickly to look at him as if he had grown a second head.

Leng Pan turned so fast that she almost got a whiplash.

The gears in her brain were turning so fast that they had become a blur. She was trying to figure out what Uncle Li meant by his statement.

Did he mean that he actually knew what had happened there? He knew how Hao was created? But how?

"What do you mean, Uncle?" Lu Zhen recovered faster than the others and asked the question that was already spinning in their heads.

This was equivalent to the kind of secrets that villains usually use to threaten good people into doing their bidding.

It was also the kind of secret that the involved people are made to swear that it would rot in their stomachs even if they died they had to take it to their graves.

In fact, that was the case with Uncle Li.

His grandfather had made him promise to take the secret to his grave.

The only problem was that he did not anticipate Hao reaching maturity and breaking out of his pod.

He had also not anticipated the apocalypse that forced his descendants to go back to the lab he had vowed to destroy and bring back a specimen.

Now, it was necessary for Li Han to break the promise he made to his grandfather and tell the rest of the family the truth.

"Like I said before, the hidden room where you found Hao was secretly built by the Li family behind the backs of the people in charge of the secret lab.

It was meant to hold the specimens who couldn’t be destroyed at the time.

From what I found out, there was one specimen that the leaders of the laboratory tried to create as a weapon.

While the other experimental subjects simply used synthetic serum created in the lab to alter them, the special subject was supposed to use raw human DNA mixed with some of the alien substance found from the leftover alien materials.

According to the information I found in grandfather’s study, this single subject was supposed to be turned into a war machine to help those people.

But my grandfather found out their plan before the experiment began.

He sneaked into the lab and replaced the human DNA supposed to be used for the experiment with his own.

Luckily, they had taken blood as a sample to extract the DNA for use.

So, all he had to do was replace the blood and without another choice, he used his own.

I am guessing Hao is the experimental subject they created back then. So, his DNA is definitely similar to Ah Zhen’s."

Uncle Li’s confession felt like a bolt out of the blue.

They had not thought that there was still such a connection between the Li family and the underground lab.

Now they could understand why grandpa Li had insisted on Uncle Li go undercover into the lab as a security chief to monitor their progress.

Since there was a secret that involved their family in that lab, it was necessary to guard it.

But now Leng Pan and Lu Zhen understood what Hao meant when he said he was close to Lu Zhen.

It simply meant that they shared the same DNA.

However, they still needed to do the test to determine how much their relationship ran.

"I wonder if we do the test we would find out that Hao is our brother or uncle. After all, great-grandpa used his own blood for the sample.

Eh! Hao might even be uncle’s uncle, our grandpa instead." Lu Tao felt that he needed to contribute his two cents and his statement made the room go quiet.

No one had considered this layer of relationship before. Now that it was mentioned, it was as if a paper window had been pierced through and nothing could be hidden anymore.

"It doesn’t matter, we will just treat him as a junior. He had just been born after all." Li Yunjia didn’t feel comfortable treating such a young creature like her grandfather.

So, she decided to treat Hao like a son once he comes out.

"Alright then. We don’t have to worry so much about the relationship issue. We can just treat him like a normal family member." Lu Zhen didn’t understand why they had to complicate the issue so much.

It’s not like Hao is going to force them to call him grandfather.

So, they could treat him however they choose.

Just as they were about to change the subject, Lu Tao started complaining about the clothes he was wearing feeling too hot and started taking off his winter coat.
