Rewriting My Fate in the Apocalypse-Chapter 347: Ungrateful Wretches
On the night of the last day before the deadline she had given them, she was woken up by someone pressing her down on her bed and trying to tear her clothes.
Upon opening her eyes, she found three men in her bedroom looking at her with so much lust that she nearly vomited from disgust.
She had awakened her water superpower at the time and had been training everyday when she went out to hunt for supplies and kill zombies.
It was that training that had saved her.
Her senses were also enhanced so she heard the very people she had saved, invited to her home, and fed talking about how they were going to let those men ruin her then they could occupy her house without worrying about being kicked out.
Only then did she realize that the three men trying to ruin her innocence were invited by those people.
That was the first time Leng Pan had felt an uncontrollable killing intent.
She had been angry, afraid, and regretful.
She wished she never felt pity for those people. She should never have invited them into her house.
She shouldn’t have shared her food and water with them and sure as hell should have kicked them out immediately after realizing that they were ungrateful wretches.
That was the first time she had killed a fellow human being.
She had always used her skills to kill zombies, but that night, she killed eight humans.
The men in the bedroom were all killed in a few moves. The one on top of her trying to undress her had it worse.
He first had his private parts sliced off with a knife created from water before having the same knife piece through his heart.
His blood splashed everywhere, bathing Leng Pan in it.
She had pushed him aside and attacked his accomplices who were frozen on the spot and couldn’t even make a sound after seeing how their comrade had died.
Leng Pan had sliced a clean cut across their necks, causing blood to spray everywhere.
Once she had taken care of the three hooligans, she walked into the living room, where her supposed guests were waiting for her to be ruined.
She had taken in three women and two men who were related.
They were talking happily about how to share the rooms and the supplies Leng Pan had hidden once she was ruined.
At that moment, Leng Pan’s heart had gone cold. She had killed them all without mercy before packing her things and leaving that place.
She had been walking around looking for a place to stay in the middle of the night covered in blood when Lu Zhen found her.
That was how they had met.
He took her home, had her clean up and fed her before letting her rest.
The following day, the two talked about forming a team to hunt zombies and kill aliens who had started taking resources from humans.
That was how their army started and how they both became commanders and also fell in love.
That lesson had stuck with Leng Pan and she never showed pity to anyone who had questionable character.
She had survived that night only because she was strong enough to protect herself.
If it had been another weaker girl, she would have lost her innocence and probably her life due to her misplaced compassion.
Now that she was facing the same situation again, Leng Pan had no pity for those people even if they tried to pretend.
After the troublemakers left, Leng Pan took her husband’s hand and walked back to their apartment.
She wondered when they would be able to harvest the food in the space bangle for use.
She thought that once the extreme heat began, even standing near a stove would be challenging.
So, they had to cook everything they could in advance.
"What do you think we should do about this situation? We don’t know when the heat will begin.
If it starts before we harvest those vegetables and fruits, what do we do about processing them?" Leng Pan felt as if her head was about to explode.
She couldn’t believe that she was stumped by the fact that they had too much food and didn’t know how to handle it while others were starving to death.
"What if we set up a kitchen in the space bangle? The temperature there won’t be affected by the changes outside.
Even if the temperature in the outside world went up to 80°, it will have no effect on the inside.
Why not set up a kitchen in there and let Uncle go in to cook when necessary? That way, the ingredients won’t go to waste and uncle won’t have to suffer cooking in extreme heat." Lu Zhen thought his suggestion made sense.
They just needed to find time when no one was around to work in the space bangle.
"Your suggestion sounds good. Then we’ll do as you say. Let’s give the crops in there a couple more days to mature completely before harvesting.
By the way, do you want to go to the mansion to check on that creature in the pod?" Leng Pan still remembered her plan to go and see if that creature had woken up and what to do with it.
"Sure, we should at least find out whether it’s a friend or foe. Keeping it in there might be the safest method, but who knows if your space has an effect on it or not." Lu Zhen never felt comfortable leaving that creature there, but they didn’t have another choice and could only take the risk.
"Alright, we have nothing to do today and everyone is probably busy preparing for the extreme heat, let’s go now and check it out.
If it has a problem, we will eliminate it.
We can’t keep such a dangerous creature loose to cause trouble later." Leng Pan was a woman of action and didn’t want to delay the inevitable.
Therefore, she planned to take action immediately and go into the space bangle to check on the creature.
