Rewriting My Fate in the Apocalypse-Chapter 346: Chasing Away The Troublemakers
"I have made myself clear. Please leave and don’t disturb the peace here." Even when Leng Pan was so direct, the people outside still refused to leave.
"Why should we leave? Now these apartments are ownerless. Anyone can occupy the house they want. Why should we leave just because you said so?" The woman holding a child shouted at the top of her lungs, causing the ice on the wall to vibrate.
Leng Pan could almost see the sound waves in the air.
It was a pity that the woman had such a talent but used it for being unreasonable.
If she utilized her vocal cords well, she could even launch a sound attack at the enemies.
Too bad she couldn’t take in such a person, otherwise, if she trained her, those sound attacks might be used against her some day.
She wasn’t a sucker who would do such a thankless job.
"If you don’t leave now, don’t blame me for being heartless. You people are causing a scene here even though you are not welcome.
There isn’t the police here to protect you. If you don’t leave now, I will make sure you never leave." Lu Zhen’s deep voice came from behind the crowd.
Leng Pan didn’t know when he had followed her to this floor, but she liked how the threat sounded coming from him.
He sounded like a Mafia boss telling traitors to leave their lives behind.
Thinking of such a scenario and Lu Zhen’s cold face, a small smile appeared on Leng Pan’s lips.
The people outside saw the crowd behind Leng Pan pat and make way for a well-dressed man. His handsome features set him aside from the others.
He was wearing a long coat that reached his calf and a windbreaker inside.
He was well built with sharp eyebrows and a jaw that was sharp enough to cut through glass.
When Leng Pan turned around to look at her husband, the sight of him assaulted her heart making it race uncontrollably.
Since the extreme cold began, apart from when they went to bed, Lu Zhen had been wearing heavy padded clothes to prevent freezing.
However, now that the snow was no longer falling and the sun was out, the fashion sense had changed as well.
Leng Pan hadn’t seen her husband wearing such trendy clothes in a long time.
Now looking at him, it felt as if they had gone back to before the apocalypse when he would dress up for work everyday.
Even though they weren’t married then, she or rather, the previous Leng Pan had seen him many times.
He suddenly pulled a gun from the back of his waist and pointed it at the man with emaciated cheeks.
"If you don’t leave now, a very unfashionable hole will appear on your head.
Get lost." It was an authoritative voice that didn’t allow for negotiation.
The people outside finally knew fear when they looked directly at the muzzle of a gun pointed at them.
Looking at Lu Zhen’s face, they could tell that he was not joking.
If he said he would shoot, then he would do it.
They had no choice but to turn around and leave while grumbling about how inhumane the people living in that building were.
"They won’t even pity a child, how cruel." The woman carrying a child could be heard complaining in a low voice as she left with the others who had also come to try their luck.
Her steps were messy as if she was struggling to walk forward.
The child wrapped in a blanket lay on her shoulder quietly with her eyes closed.
Leng Pan couldn’t tell whether she was asleep or just resting.
It was obvious that the woman had been hungry for a long time and she probably saw that the people in their building were doing well and wanted to talked advantage of them.
Since her goal was to save as many humans as possible, Leng Pan would have been happy to help the woman, especially since she had a child.
Unfortunately, the woman was too entitled and unreasonable.
Such a person would not be grateful after receiving help. Instead she would think that she deserved it and was entitled to it.
She would not be satisfied and would try to take what her helper had whether she was given permission or not.
Leng Pan would never help such a person who would bring disaster to her people.
She had seen this kind of thing before in the first apocalypse.
Some people pretended to be weak to seek help and because at the time, she knew nothing about human nature, she had been eager to help.
She had even taken in a few people who had claimed that their houses were unlivable and needed a place to stay for a few days while looking for a new resident.
She had kindly offered to accommodate them for a few days and even shared her food and water with them.
What she never expected was that those people started taking things without her permission.
The little food she had obtained from scavenging would be taken and eaten while she was out hunting for more, or sleeping.
They became so excessive that they wouldn’t even leave anything for her.
When she asked, they would call her selfish for not wanting to share and at one point, the very people she had saved and invited to her house tried to kick her out and occupy her house.
It was at that moment that she realized that human nature had changed.
She couldn’t treat people as kindly as she had before the apocalypse.
She gave them an ultimatum and told them to move out of her house in two days otherwise she would kick them out.
She had then hidden the supplies she got and refused to share any food or water.
What she never expected was that this move would make them desperate.
Even the women in the group became so vicious that it was unimaginable.
