Rewriting My Fate in the Apocalypse-Chapter 134: Going Out to Look for Winter Clothes
Chapter 134: Chapter 134: Going Out to Look for Winter Clothes
I don’t know if the government can fund researchers to find a cure for the virus, but if nothing is done, there won’t be many humans surviving soon." Lu Tao gave his analysis of what he had understood from that day’s situation and Lu Zhen was impressed by the young man.
To be able to deduce everything so clearly after only one trip outside, it was commendable.
"Is it that serious?" Aunt Li asked when she heard his analysis while looking at Lu Zhen.
It was obvious that she was looking for affirmation from him.
"He is right. The situation out there is getting worse. The zombies are getting stronger and faster than before. Also, more humans are in danger of either turning or becoming food for the zombies." Lu Zhen was very blunt about it, not being tactical at all.
"Is it better for us to go out and explore? We can get used to the sight of zombies and also learn how to deal with them.
Staying at home is safe but not a good thing. Being a greenhouse flower at this moment is more harmful to us than facing zombies." Li Yunjia suggested after Lu Zhen’s untactful statement.
"Your mother has a point. We can’t always stay indoors and if the zombies are getting stronger, it would be difficult for us to fight them if we ever have to go out.
So, maybe we should be going out to learn how to deal with zombies." Uncle Li also seconded his sister.
He understood that the zombies outside would only continue to grow stronger and soon people who had never dealt with a zombie before would have nowhere to go.
In that situation, many would die of starvation because they cannot go out to look for supplies.
Therefore, he thought that it was better to start getting used to fighting zombies earlier. Moreover, for the sake of survival, everyone should participate because you never know when such a skill or experience would become handy.
"Then we can go together tomorrow." Leng Pan, who had rested enough and had just walked in through the door, happened to hear their conversation and also contributed her thoughts.
"Baby." Lu Zhen called out and stood up to walk to his wife. He took her hand and walked back to the sofa.
The other family members were already used to his undisguised display of affection and no longer cared about it.
"Have you rested enough, Panpan?" Li Yunjia asked her daughter-in-law as soon as she sat down.
"I am well rested Mom, don’t worry about me." Leng Pan replied.
Of course, the credit mostly went to the spiritual spring water she had drank before she laid down to rest.
Nonetheless, she could tell that although her mental energy had been restored, it still wasn’t as much as before.
She still needed some time to replenish her mental strength. Her physical condition and superpowers had fully recovered. So, she didn’t have much to worry about.
"Were you guys talking about training together?" Leng Pan asked after sitting down.
She had also been worried about this recently. They couldn’t hide in the apartment forever and having family members who couldn’t even fight one zombie was going to be a problem in the future.
She understood the reason Lu Zhen had made his brother join them for the search for supplies that day. The results were remarkable since Lu Tao had completely changed his attitude.
He no longer thought that the apocalypse was some passing crisis. He understood that with everything he had seen, it was here to stay and couldn’t be taken lightly.
But the rest of the family members were different. They hadn’t seen what it was like outside and even though they seemed to have accepted the apocalypse on the surface, deep down they still had hope that it would either pass or the government would come to rescue them.
They needed to change this mentality as soon as possible and Uncle Li’s suggestion played directly to Leng Pan and Lu Zhen’s thoughts.
In that case, they could go out together tomorrow so that the elders could witness first hand what the world had become.
"Alright then. Locking ourselves in here isn’t going to help us anyway. So, let’s go out and see the world. Are there more people outside?" Li Yunjia agreed to go out because she didn’t want to turn into a burden that her children had to carry and slow them down.
Even though she had not been outside since the apocalypse began, from the few scenes she had seen on TV before news stopped broadcasting, those who were caught near zombies and couldn’t fight or run ended up as their food.
At first they had found it incredible. But now that it had become their way of life, it was better to get used to it earlier before the zombies became too strong for them to learn how to fight and kill them.
"Alright, it’s decided then. Tomorrow we’ll go to the same mall we were in today but on a different floor to look for winter clothes and beddings.
From the vision Mom had been seeing, the next disaster might be the extreme cold. So we need to prepare early." Leng Pan suggested again.
She had a lot of winter clothes and electric blankets in her space, but how would she explain it if the others asked where they came from?
"Do we need to prepare anything when we go out tomorrow?" Aunt Li had been reluctant to go out and face zombies, but her husband was right, they couldn’t stay indoors forever.
They might as well get used to them earlier and also learn how to deal with them.
"If you have tear-resistant clothes, it’s better to wear them as they can act as a protective shield in case a zombie got too close and tried to scratch you.
Also, wear clothes like track suits or other types that make it easy for you to move around.
Skinny jeans also work, so please don’t limit yourself. Choose your weapon of choice as well.
