Leng Pan and Lu Zhen still didn’t know about this. The others hadn’t had the opportunity to tell them about the plans of some of their neighbors to freeload off of others without risking anything.

So, Leng Pan was quite puzzled when Lu Tao mentioned neighbors arguing about borrowing supplies.

"What are you talking about?" She asked as she sensed some juicy gossip from the expressions of the three people.

"Some neighbors from a lower floor were discussing going out to search for supplies.

They are husband and wife. The husband suggested going outside to look for supplies because they were running low on food, but his wife objected saying it was too dangerous to go out. It broke into an argument....." Lu Tao went ahead and explained what had happened that day.

Even Lu Zhen was shocked by the audacity of that woman. How could she talk about using others so righteously without any shame?

Moreover, she didn’t even care that her actions could lead to the premature death of others.

It was better not to associate with such people.

The door was knocked a few more times but they all remained indifferent.

Finally, it looked like the people outside finally noticed the door bell and started pressing it.

This time, the noise was too much and they couldn’t keep ignoring it. Lu Zhen got angry and stood up when he couldn’t take it anymore . What did these people think they were doing? Why couldn’t they read the room, it was obvious that they didn’t want to be disturbed.

When Leng Pan saw Lu Zhen going outside, she stood up to follow. She didn’t want her husband arguing with bitter women.

As soon as the door opened, the women outside raised their heads to look at who was standing at the door. They were shocked to see the handsome man standing in front of them. Then throwing their eyes towards the inside of the apartment, they saw a beautiful woman standing right behind him.

It was their first time seeing such a handsome man, but his face was so cold that they almost froze standing there.

"What do you want?" Lu Zhen asked with an irritated gaze at the two women outside the door.

"Sir, can you please spare some food to eat? My child hasn’t eaten for a whole day and will get sick if he doesn’t eat soon. Please sir, we don’t have any food left." The woman carrying the child pleaded.

She put on a pitiful expression to seek sympathy. Unfortunately she was seeking sympathy from the wrong person.

Lu Zhen never cared about such trivials. Especially not from strangers. He didn’t care what people thought about him and right now he couldn’t care less about people who only wanted to take advantage of others.

"Why should we care about you or whether your child starves to death? I don’t even know you. Please leave my house. I don’t want you to disturb me or my family."

Leng Pan smiled at the back. Her husband was indeed formidable. Not giving face at all.

"Sir, how can you be so ruthless? She was just asking for a little food for the child to eat. How can you just sit there and watch the child starve to death when you have so many supplies at home?" It was the unreasonable woman who had been arguing with her husband who spoke this time.

Judging by her way of speaking, it was clear that she meant what she said to her husband. She only cared about getting supplies from other people and couldn’t care less whether others died or not after taking their things.

Lu Zhen looked at this woman with a scrutinizing gaze. He could already guess who she was from the way she spoke.

"Am I related to you? If I am not related to you, then why should I help you?" Lu Zhen asked with an icy gaze and the coldest voice the women at the door had ever heard.

After all, being a CEO for so many years was not just to learn how to intimidate his employees. He could even intimidate generals.

These women could not handle his aura. They felt a chill run down their spine and they shivered from just how cold the corridor had become from his icy gaze.

The woman with a child started regretting listening to the other and coming here to provoke this God of death.

If she had known, she wouldn’t have come at all. Just as the unreasonable woman was about to speak again, Leng Pan came forward and pulled her husband behind her.

"We have many people in our house and don’t have any supplies to share with you or anyone else. Please leave and do not disturb our family again."

Upon hearing this, the unreasonable woman looked at Leng Pan with anger in her eyes.

"What do you mean you don’t have any supplies? I clearly saw you carrying so many supplies about a week ago. Why can’t you share some with others?" Leng Pan had never seen such a rude and pushy human being before.

’How could anyone be so entitled? These are things owned by other people. They belong to others, so why should they share just because you saw them carrying supplies?’ Leng Pan thought.

She had assumed Lu Tao was exaggerating when he said the woman was unreasonable and had questionable morals. But now, she realized that Lu Tao had understated this woman’s behavior.

It was the first time she had seen someone behave as if others were obligated to take care of her. They were not related in any way, and they were practically strangers until 5 minutes ago.

"Did you help us by buy those supplies? If you did, then you can ask for some. But if you didn’t, then get out of here and stop disturbing our peace." Leng Pan said with some anger and frustration.

She had read many apocalyptic books, and some of the plot arcs mentioned people taking things by force, or even forcing their way into other people’s houses and refusing to leave.

She had always thought it was exaggerated and meant to make the story more exciting. However, today she witnessed the real thing.

Someone showed up at their house to ask for supplies as if they had played a part in the shopping.

Leng Pan didn’t wait for a reply from the two outside the door and slammed it shut. "If she dares to come again just throw her out. We don’t need to entertain such selfish people." She said.

Lu Zhen looked at his delicate wife who had stood in front of him like a protective mother and smiled.
