Revenge Wears Red Lipstick-Chapter 160: It Is Over?
The door to a room opened, and Donnero pushed Rico inside without any mercy, which led the latter to stumble on his own feet and land on the ground.
He whimpered as he held his elbow, which had hit the hard floor painfully.
"Who was that man?" Donnero questioned as he towered over him.
Rico’s attention was still on his injured elbow, and he didn’t hear what Donnero said.
Donnero leaned forward. "I’m talking to you!" he bellowed, finally gaining Rico’s attention as the latter shook on the ground.
"He’s no one," Rico replied, tears filling his eyes. "Don’t hurt him."
Donnero cocked his eyebrows, clearly amused.
"I never said I was going to. But maybe I will," he responded. A smirk stretched on his lips, satisfied with the way Rico’s face paled at his words.
Donnero straightened once again, standing at his full 6’4 height while Rico tried to stand up.
"Leave Ryan out of this. He didn’t do anything to you," Rico said, holding his elbows to his chest while his eyes shot daggers at Donnero.
"He didn’t?" Donnero slurred. "Do you know how much money I just lost after he barged in here and took you away mid-performance? It’s obvious you two have a little thing going on, but do I need to remind you who you belong to now?" he questioned, his tone cold and devoid of any emotion.
Rico shivered.
Unfortunately, there was no denying it anymore.
His father had already sold him off to Donnero. He belonged to him now—a property, an object, a toy he could use however he wanted and dispose of whenever he wished.
Thinking he had returned to the very same situation he had tried to escape from a long time ago made his blood boil. He clenched his fists, resisting the urge to land a satisfying punch across Donnero’s face. But he would be digging his own grave if he ever did such a thing.
Before he could manage a reply, a strong hand grabbed his chin and held it tight, forcing him to look into Donnero’s soulless eyes. They stared right back at him, empty and cold like they wasn’t any sort of life in them.
"What are you thinking in that little head of yours?" he demanded. "Are you thinking about how you’re going to kill me off when all of this is over?"
Rico shut his lips tight and didn’t say anything. He didn’t dare to.
"Well, let me just tell you..." Donnero started, tearing the jacket from Rico’s body and causing him to flinch slightly. "You’re going everywhere I’m going. Even if I’m going to hell, I’m taking you with me."
If anyone else were there, they would think Donnero was bluffing. But Rico had known him long enough to know that Donnero didn’t make empty threats.
Since high school, Donnero had never made simple threats. He always lived to fulfill them if someone dared to double-cross him.
Then he let him go and took a few steps back, finally giving Rico some breathing space.
"Get your shit together and go back there and make me more money."
Without another word, Donnero turned his back and left Rico alone with his thoughts.

Dante was at the hideout. The place had grown a lot quieter than usual without Rico around.
He’d texted Rico the previous day and had gotten a response almost immediately, confirming that he was alright.
However, Rico hadn’t come to the hideout for over a week now. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
Dante made a mental note to check what Rico had been up to these past few days. But right now, he’d just received intel from one of his men regarding his father’s whereabouts.
Unfortunately for Mr. De Rossi, he hadn’t been careful enough.
For someone wanted by the entire city, he thought going out for a walk in the streets was safe and that no one would recognize him.
Not only that, but he’d been seen with Miquel, his former weapons dealer.
This made Dante wonder what the two could be planning together. But whatever it was, he wasn’t going to wait and let it happen.
Dante made a phone call to the police station, immediately giving them the address of the location.
He could have gone with his men, but he already had plans. He was finally having a proper date with Eva for the first time in the next three hours, and he wasn’t going to ruin it by changing plans.
He sent Eva a text, asking if she was getting ready, and she replied almost instantly, sending him a pic of the sapphire dress she was going to wear.
Dante grinned like a fool as he left the hideout, gave a few instructions to his men, and rode back home to shower and get ready.
Meanwhile, in another place...
Mr. De Rossi was inspecting the weapons he’d bought from Miquel. They were packed in a large crate, settled at the back of a van.
He couldn’t keep them in the house due to fear of getting caught.
"I’ll contact you when I need them," he said, staring at the truck. "Get busy and try recruiting some worthy men for me."
Miquel chewed his gum as he twirled his hair around his finger.
"You don’t have to tell me everything I need to do," Miquel said, rolling his eyes before getting inside the van as they drove off.
Watching them depart, Mr. De Rossi sighed in relief.
He went back inside the house, where he found his wife making dinner.
She glanced at him, her eyes filled with questions, but he pretended not to see them.
She turned back to the pot, and he thought he was off the hook for a moment—until she suddenly turned it off and gave him her full attention.
"Do you really have to do all of this?" she questioned. "You’ve changed so much. You’ve ruined our family, and instead of making things better, you’re only making it worse."
Mr. De Rossi ignored her as she continued yapping. But when he finally decided to speak, he heard sirens.
His eyes nearly bulged out of their sockets as his face went pale.
"Boss! The police are here!!"

Dante watched the news displayed on a billboard. The arrest of his father was the talk of the city that night.
He had thought finding his father would take months, since the man made sure to stay hidden far from civilization. But no one was above making mistakes.
He slipped, and he was caught.
"This ice cream is banging."
Eva’s words caught his attention immediately as he turned to face her.
"Their chocolate ice cream is literally the best I’ve ever had," she added as she scooped some and ate it.
He’d planned to take her to a fancy restaurant, but she had completely objected and only wanted to try out a new ice cream shop that had opened down the street.
"You like it?"
"I love it!!" she squealed as she took another scoop. "You know what? We should try making ice cream at least once."
Dante admired her silently.
Eva had always been beautiful, but tonight she looked breathtaking. So breathtaking that all he wanted to do was stare at her all night.
He admired her like a starving man waiting for his food to be served. But in this case, she was the meal, and he was waiting for the right moment to devour her.
Oblivious to his thoughts, Eva continued rambling about making ice cream at his place with different flavors.
She didn’t notice the little bit of cream at the corner of her lips.
She turned to face Dante.
"So, what do you think?" she asked, her eyes filled with excitement.
Dante grinned. His hands reached for her cheeks, cupping them as he leaned forward slowly.
Her heart skipped a beat as her lips parted instinctively when he captured them in a passionate kiss.
He kissed her like there was no tomorrow—like he had been starving for years and not even a taste of her was enough to quench the hunger raging inside him.
He pulled her closer until their chests touched, his hands resting on her waist to keep her steady.
Eva instinctively wrapped her arms around him as she kissed him back.
They were officially dating, but this was their first kiss after resolving their issues. She had missed him terribly, and his body heat alone made her feel weak.
When he slipped his tongue into her mouth, she tried to dominate, but he always won anyway.
When she couldn’t breathe, she tapped his shoulder.
Reluctantly, he pulled back just long enough for her to catch her breath—only to capture her lips again in a rougher kiss.
They were in the middle of the street, but neither of them cared if people saw them.
The news of Mr. De Rossi’s arrest continued playing on the billboard behind them.
And for the first time, it was over.
Or so they thought.
