Chapter 97: Chapter 97: A Woman’s Words Cannot Be Trusted

Wu Tian followed Xiao Tianzan to Baiyun Mountain, taking the route that passed the Wang Family’s estate, just as Wu Tian had requested.

"See that?" Xiao Tianzan said from the driver’s seat of the Accord, motioning to Wu Tian in the back. "Look out the left window. The tallest high-rise—that’s the Wang Family’s."

Wu Tian nodded and suddenly lowered the window to gaze at the towering building. He stared for a long time, not looking away until it was completely out of sight. Only then did he raise the window again.

What was that all about? Xiao Tianzan wondered. He didn’t have time to dwell on it, however, and simply drove the Accord up to Xiao Liang’s villa on Baiyun Mountain.

As soon as they stepped out of the car, a crisp, pleasant voice called from behind them. "Uncle Xiao, you’re finally here."

Wu Tian turned to see Guli Weileng, the woman from the airport. Today, she wore a white gauze dress that gave her an elegant, mesmerizing grace with every movement.

"Weileng, so it was you," Xiao Tianzan nodded. "That makes sense. With your grandmother being unwell, of course you’d come to see her." He then introduced her to Wu Tian. "Her grandmother is Tellam of the Kuangte Family. My father and Aunt Tellam had a connection, and she took good care of me when I was studying abroad. We’ve kept in touch over QQ all these years, so I’m also very familiar with Weileng."

"I see," Wu Tian said, surprised by such a coincidence. He looked at Guli Weileng and said, "Hello."

"Hello!" she replied with a nod. She noticed Wu Tian didn’t seem surprised to see her; in fact, the look in his eyes made her feel as if this wasn’t the first time he’d laid eyes on her. As a celebrity, however, she was used to all kinds of situations.

"Uncle Xiao, Grandfather Xiao Liang said you brought a Divine Doctor. Where is he?" Guli Weileng asked, her tone growing anxious as she remembered the urgent matter.

"Isn’t he right here?" Xiao Tianzan said, gesturing toward Wu Tian.

"This..." Guli Weileng was stunned.

Xiao Tianzan chuckled, completely understanding her reaction. If he hadn’t witnessed Wu Tian’s miraculous abilities firsthand, he wouldn’t have believed this young man was a Divine Doctor either. Her astonishment was perfectly natural.

As Wu Tian watched her adorably dumbfounded expression, he couldn’t help but think of the Empress. The Empress’s expression, back when she was amazed by his power, had been almost identical to this. Today, even their temperaments seemed to align. The startling resemblance stirred a complex feeling within him. Is there really no connection between them?

Xiao Tianzan was the first to recover. "I’ll take him inside to treat Aunt Tellam now."

"You can’t," Guli Weileng said suddenly, shaking her head.

"Why not?" Xiao Tianzan asked.

"Her attending physicians are currently giving her a nutritional IV and doing a full check-up to see if any new problems have developed. If we want to start treatment, I’m afraid we have to wait until they’re finished."

Hearing this, Xiao Tianzan turned to Wu Tian for his opinion.

"No problem," Wu Tian said with an easy smile.

"Alright," Xiao Tianzan nodded. "I’ll go inside and let them know." He then entered the villa.

Only then did Guli Weileng look at Wu Tian with curiosity. "Do you practice Chinese medicine or Western medicine?"

"Chinese medicine," Wu Tian replied with a smile.

"Chinese medicine?" Guli Weileng looked surprised. "But are there any real practitioners of Chinese medicine left these days? My grandmother’s condition is extremely serious. She has problems all over her body. Many brilliant physicians abroad were at their wits’ end and could only use medicine to buy her time. Can you really cure her?"

Wu Tian smiled. "I’m one hundred percent certain."

"One hundred percent?" Guli Weileng was deeply skeptical. "Are you bragging? Do you really know Chinese medicine?"

"Of course," Wu Tian nodded.

"Shouldn’t practitioners of Chinese medicine be old men? You’re so young." He had been invited by Xiao Tianzan, after all. And someone brought by the Admiral of the Nine Gates was surely extraordinary. Despite this, Guli Weileng still shook her head in disbelief. "Dude, I don’t think you’re very reliable."

Wu Tian just smiled. With any other woman, he wouldn’t have wasted his breath, but Guli Weileng was so similar to the Empress that he felt a constant urge to understand why. After a moment’s thought, he said, "I don’t need to take your pulse. I just need one look to know what’s wrong with you."

"Really?" Guli Weileng’s eyes lit up with interest. "Alright then, tell me. What’s wrong with me?"

"You have four problems," Wu Tian stated with a smile.

"Nonsense," she huffed. "I feel perfectly fine. How could I possibly have four problems? That’s ridiculous."

Wu Tian smiled and continued, "First, your period started today."

"You..." Guli Weileng’s face flushed red. Just as she was about to get angry, Wu Tian continued speaking.

"Second, you’re anemic. When you sit in one place for too long and then stand up, you get dizzy, don’t you?"

"Yes, but so what?" Guli Weileng shook her head. "Nine out of ten girls are anemic."

"Third," Wu Tian said, "you’re overheated. Unless I’m mistaken, you have seven pimples under your bangs."

"Ah!" she gasped, shocked that he could know even that. She quickly pouted and conceded, "Fine, I’ll give you that one. So what’s the last one?"

"The last one... is a bit serious."

"What?" Guli Weileng was taken aback. Serious? What does he mean? As a modern young woman, she hated hospitals and rarely went for check-ups. Wu Tian’s words sent a jolt of anxiety through her. Could I have some hidden, terminal illness?

"This one is a bit difficult to bring up," Wu Tian said with a wry smile.

"There’s nothing to be shy about. Dude, just spit it out," Guli Weileng urged.

Wu Tian considered it for a moment. "Alright, I can tell you, but you have to promise you won’t get angry."

"Deal. Do I look like the type to get angry easily? Obviously not," she said.

Wu Tian hesitated, then nodded. He looked at her and said, "Your Physique is the Heaven-Mending Sun-Bathing Physique. With Cultivation, your potential would be boundless. Without it, however, this Physique is..."

What is this Heaven-Mending Sun-Bathing Physique? Guli Weileng had no idea what he meant. Still, she was anxious. "Without Cultivation, this Physique is what? Hurry up and tell me! I promise I won’t get angry."

Wu Tian considered it once more before finally saying, "It’s what’s known as a Natural Seduction Physique. It makes one inherently sensual, with an alluring voice—a physique that the average man cannot handle."

"You!" Guli Weileng hadn’t expected him to say something so embarrassing. Mortified and furious, she lifted her foot and aimed a kick straight at him.

Wu Tian easily dodged the kick. He couldn’t help but feel a sense of helplessness. No wonder they say you can’t trust a woman’s word.
