Chapter 41: Chapter 41 King of Drifting

Chen Kuohai frowned and looked at Nangong Yi. "Are you sure you want to include this person?" Then, he turned to Wu Tian. "Do you want to switch cars? This Buick really isn’t going to cut it."

"That’s right, want to switch cars?" Nangong Yi goaded Wu Tian. "Maybe you’ll grow a spine if you get a different one."

"I don’t have any other car," Wu Tian said, shaking his head.

Qin Yuhan’s car isn’t mine. He had never bought a car for himself. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶

"Then you’re stuck with the Buick! Hahaha!" Nangong Yi laughed, brimming with confidence. Unaware the car belonged to Xia Qian, his only goal was to humiliate Wu Tian.

Ever since meeting Wu Tian, he couldn’t stand the sight of him. I’m a King of Soldiers! In novels, guys like me are the protagonists who return to the city and dominate everything. It was always like that for me, too... until I met him. He had been defeated by a single punch from Wu Tian. I have to get revenge for that humiliation. I absolutely have to.

"So you really insist on racing me? Is there no other way?" Wu Tian asked, a smirk playing on his lips.

"What, scared?" Nangong Yi challenged. "You can back out. Just agree to be my lackey. From now on, you do what I tell you to do, and don’t do anything I haven’t."

Wu Tian snorted coldly. "I don’t understand."

"What don’t you understand?" Nangong Yi asked, confused.

"I don’t understand why all of you have such a death wish. Is the human race devolving?" Wu Tian asked, his face a mask of mock grief.

"Bastard!" Nangong Yi whirled around and bellowed to his fans, "Did you all hear that? He says I have a death wish for racing him! Isn’t that hilarious?"

As soon as he finished speaking, the crowd erupted.

"So arrogant! How dare he say our Oppa has a death wish?"

"Our Oppa is a racing god! Does this guy even know anything about cars? What a joke!"

"Maybe he really is one of those legendary hidden masters."

The spectacle amused everyone, and a fervent discussion broke out. While some found it entertaining, others felt a pang of sympathy for Wu Tian. After all, Chen Kuohai had an Audi R8 and Nangong Yi had a Porsche 911. And Wu Tian? He had a Buick. They couldn’t help but pity him. But after hearing what Wu Tian said, most of them just thought he was arrogant and clueless about his own limitations.

Wu Tian, however, dismissed the crowd’s chatter as the barking of dogs—incomprehensible noise unworthy of his attention. He got into the Buick. The car was completely unsuitable for racing, yet Wu Tian seemed unconcerned, his expression placid. Racing was just a game to him. Even with junk specs, god-tier control can still pull off a win.

Nangong Yi smirked as he got into his Porsche, and Chen Kuohai climbed into his Audi.

Xia Qian and Wu Tian switched places. With Wu Tian now in the driver’s seat, she asked worriedly, "Do you actually know how to drive?"

"I’m on Schumacher’s level," Wu Tian said, gripping the steering wheel. Since his return, he had absorbed countless racing videos, programs, and tapes. With his current aptitude, he learned anything far faster than ordinary mortals.

Even though he was in a Buick against an Audi R8 and a Porsche 911, Wu Tian felt no pressure at all. His expression remained as calm as ever.

"But you don’t have a driver’s license, do you?" Xia Qian pointed out.

Wu Tian nodded. "Nope."

"We’re doomed! I’m getting out!" Xia Qian cried. People always say female drivers are terrifying, but right now I know there’s something infinitely more frightening!

As the Buick, Porsche, and Audi lined up, the referee began the countdown. "Three... Two..."

The moment he shouted, "One!" both Chen Kuohai’s Audi and Nangong Yi’s Porsche roared to life, shooting forward. Nangong Yi’s Porsche, with its superior performance, immediately took the lead at an astonishing speed.

"Hold tight," Wu Tian said, flooring the accelerator.

The Buick shot forward like a cannonball, hurtling recklessly down the track.

"Oppa, go! Oppa, go!"

Nangong Yi had the most fans here, and seeing his Porsche pull ahead, they erupted into frenzied cheers as if they were on stimulants. Chen Kuohai was a former professional racer with an undefeated record in Yang City. But right now, Nangong Yi’s speed was even greater than his, driving the fans absolutely wild.

As for Wu Tian, his Buick’s acceleration was no match for the Porsche or the Audi, giving him a slow start. But by flooring the gas, he managed to trail just behind Chen Kuohai’s Audi.

"Are you crazy? Why are you flooring it?!" Xia Qian shrieked.

Wu Tian chuckled coldly. "It’s the only way to win." With that, he pushed the accelerator down even harder. Brakes? I have no use for those.

Suddenly, the Buick surged forward like a charging lunatic, accelerating with abandon.

Watching Wu Tian’s insane driving, the color drained from Xia Qian’s face. Am I going to die here? Suddenly remembering something, she yelled, "Wu Tian, trust my memory! There’s a sharp turn fifty meters ahead! You have to brake, or we’ll fly off the track!"

"Don’t worry, we won’t," Wu Tian smiled. In fact, he remembered it more clearly than she did. The turn was at the forty-three-meter mark.

But instead of braking like any sane person, Wu Tian stomped on the gas and continued to charge forward.

The Buick rocketed toward the first turn. With a perfectly calm expression, Wu Tian furiously cranked the steering wheel, his foot never once leaving the accelerator!

"No!" Xia Qian gasped.

But to the astonishment of everyone watching, the Buick executed a high-difficulty drift. What followed was a series of consecutive turns, and Wu Tian navigated them all with continuous drifts, never once touching the brakes. This was a feat that even professional racers would find nearly impossible. Relying on this succession of drifts, the Buick finally caught up to Chen Kuohai’s Audi.

Inside the car, Xia Qian felt Wu Tian’s controlled madness. In his hands, the Buick became a cheetah hunting down the Audi R8.

This is thrilling! Absolutely thrilling!

The first drift could have been a fluke, but after watching him execute so many in a row, Xia Qian understood. Wu Tian actually possessed incredible driving skill.

My God... could he really be the next Schumacher? she couldn’t help but wonder.

They were almost out of the S-curves, but the final turn was extremely tight and dangerous. Yet, approaching the very turn where he should have slowed down, Wu Tian didn’t decelerate at all. With no intention of reducing his speed, he charged forward once again!

By mastering the series of turns, the Buick actually overtook Chen Kuohai’s Audi R8.
