Chapter 163: Chapter 163 Descendants of Zhao Zilong

The Zhao Family? Which Zhao Family? This was the first thing that came to the minds of Wu Tian and his group.

Yao Yuanyao walked over and began explaining to them in a low voice. It turned out this was no ordinary family. The Zhao Family they were speaking of were descendants of Zhao Zilong and had been based in Hong Kong for many years.

Today, they were one of Hong Kong’s top ten hidden affluent families. In terms of assets, they weren’t far behind the publicly renowned Li Family. Moreover, the Zhao Family wasn’t just wealthy. They had a martial heritage, having passed down the Hundreds of Birds Paying Homage to the Phoenix spear technique for generations. Although they weren’t one of the Five Surnames and Seven Families, all their members possessed martial skills. In Hong Kong, they had become a hidden power in the Martial Arts World, feared by many of the city’s other great families. The only group that could contend with them was the Wing Chun Sect.

"Descendants of Zhao Zilong? What are they doing here?" Wu Tian asked, puzzled.

That tomb housed a sage. Who was this sage? Wu Tian and the others still didn’t know. But based on the Heaven-Defying Sword, the person buried there must have been from Cao Cao’s faction, having no connection to Zhao Zilong whatsoever.

"It’s because of the Green Light Sword," Yao Yuanyao said gravely. "They heard on the black market that the Heaven-Defying Sword was in my possession, so they came to my family’s home hoping to make a trade."

Wu Tian nodded; that made sense. Originally, both the Green Light and Heaven-Defying Swords belonged to Cao Cao, but the Green Light Sword had been seized by Zhao Yun during the Battle of Changban Slope.

"It seems the Zhao Family has also taken an interest in this tomb," Wu Tian noted. Otherwise, if they already possess the Green Light Sword, why would they seek the Heaven-Defying Sword?

Finally, a convoy of black Mercedes-Benz cars stopped outside the Yao residence.

Yao Yuansheng was overjoyed. While he gave Mouse Tooth, Wu Tian, and the others a cold look, he showed great enthusiasm toward the members of the Zhao Family. He hurried forward, personally opened the courtyard gate, and said with a smile, "The arrival of the Zhao Family truly brings splendor to our humble home."

A group of people emerged from the black vehicles. Most were bodyguards who positioned themselves around the courtyard, while only two people actually entered the Yao family yard. They were two women who appeared to be the same age, yet they were sisters.

"I am the younger sister, Zhao Zetian," the quiet girl in white said, proceeding to introduce her black-clad older sister. "This is my older sister, Zhao Mulan. She’s rather cold, so I’ll be doing the talking for her."

"Welcome, welcome," Yao Yuansheng nodded in greeting.

The black-clad Zhao Mulan was holding the Green Light Sword. Though ancient in appearance, its Sword Qi was unmistakable. Of the two women, it seemed one pursued scholarly arts while the other cultivated martial arts.

"Please, come in," Yao Yuansheng said, treating them with the utmost respect as he ushered them into the house.

"This... this..." Mouse Tooth was nearly seething. How dare this junior, Yao Yuansheng, act so insolently? He turned to Yao Yuanyao and demanded, "Tell me, am I still your elder? Am I not allowed into your house for a cup of tea?"

Torn between his brother and his elder, Yao Yuanyao hesitated for a moment before seeming to come to a decision. He looked at Mouse Tooth and the others and said politely, "Uncle Mouse Tooth, please come in as well. You and our other guests, please, come inside."

The little one smiled happily. "This older brother is a good person. I thought we were going to be stuck standing outside forever."

If not for Yao Yuanyao’s words, Wu Tian had already decided to blow the Yao residence to smithereens.

"You’re not bad," Wu Tian said after appraising Yao Yuanyao for a moment. "You have a good heart. It’s a pity you don’t know how to fight for what’s yours."

Hearing this, Yao Yuanyao sighed and lowered his head. He didn’t know how to compete.

After a moment’s thought, Wu Tian reached out and tapped his finger on Yao Yuanyao’s forehead.

Yao Yuanyao froze, a stream of new information flooding his mind.

"It’s fortunate you have a natural talent for Tomb Raiding," Wu Tian said with a faint smile. "If you didn’t, I couldn’t help you. What I can do for you is very little—I’m just stimulating your latent potential in this area."

What I can do for you is very little? You call this little? Lin Zhan was astonished.

Mouse Tooth was simply dumbstruck. Is such a thing even possible?

Overcome with shock and elation, Yao Yuanyao looked at Wu Tian as if he were his own savior, bowing his head repeatedly. "Thank you, thank you, I truly, truly thank you..."

"Stop!" the little one cried out. She was afraid if the man kept going, night would fall, which, in her opinion, seemed like a distinct possibility. "I want a drink!"

"Okay, okay, okay," Yao Yuanyao nodded and ushered Wu Tian and the others into the house.

In the main hall, the Zhao Family and Yao Yuansheng had already begun their negotiations. As it turned out, Zhao Zetian wanted the Heaven-Defying Sword. This was wonderful news for Yao Yuansheng. He had studied the Heaven-Defying Sword himself but hadn’t been able to decipher any of its secrets. The only reason he’d kept it was because his father, before going abroad, had told him not to get rid of it, as it had been left in their care by someone else. But after so many years, no one had come to claim it, and Yao Yuansheng had come to feel the sword now belonged to the Yao family. Naturally, he was overjoyed at the chance to trade it to the Zhao Family for something valuable.

"I’ll offer 500 million," Zhao Zetian said, opening with a huge sum.

Yao Yuansheng couldn’t help but marvel inwardly. The Zhao Family truly has deep pockets.

When Yao Yuanyao entered with Wu Tian and the others, Yao Yuansheng shot them a cold snort, but he knew this wasn’t the time to be concerned with Mouse Tooth’s group. He turned to Zhao Zetian and said with a laugh, "Miss Zhao, the Heaven-Defying Sword belonged to Cao Cao and seems to possess some magical power. Isn’t 500 million a bit low?"

Magical power? Hearing this, everyone present secretly rolled their eyes. They didn’t know about any magical power, but it was true that anyone who possessed it was plagued by constant misfortune. Even Zhao Zetian had discovered this in her research. But for the sake of that tomb, the Heaven-Defying Sword was an item she was determined to obtain.

"Alright. I’ll add one more item to the deal, but you’ll have to guess what it is." With that, Zhao Zetian produced an object that looked like a repeating crossbow and smiled. "The Yao family are descendants of legendary tomb raiders. You must be familiar with this item, aren’t you?"

"Hahaha," Yao Yuansheng laughed, his expression as arrogant as ever. "You can’t stump me. As a descendant of the legendary tomb raiders, how could I not recognize this? It’s Zhuge Liang’s repeating crossbow! This device was thought to be lost to history, perhaps only existing within Zhuge Liang’s tomb. I never imagined the Zhao Family would have one passed down through the generations. Impressive, very impressive."

Seeing Yao Yuansheng’s self-satisfied demeanor, it seemed he believed he had already won.

But Zhao Zetian simply shook her head and said, "Wrong."

"Wrong?" Yao Yuansheng’s face filled with surprise, his smug expression vanishing as if he’d been slapped. He muttered awkwardly, "Then... is it just an ordinary repeating crossbow?"

Zhao Zetian shook her head again, sighing with a hint of disappointment in the Yao family.

"I know what it is." With a flash of insight, Yao Yuanyao stepped forward.

"Don’t spout nonsense and tarnish the Yao family’s name!" Yao Yuansheng snapped angrily.

Yao Yuanyao hesitated.

"Speak your mind," Wu Tian said.

Zhao Zetian watched with interest and smiled. "Go ahead and tell us. Your older brother has already guessed incorrectly. The Yao family has already lost face once, so it makes no difference whether you speak or not."

SMACK! To Yao Yuansheng, the words felt like he’d been slapped across the face several times.
